I’d rather watch these old games rather than the NFL games of today.

Super visionary prediction from Stram with calling the Saints winning the NFC West in 1991. Not only had they never won a division title in their previous 24 years of existence, the niners were coming off of a 14-2 season where a late fumble in the NFC CG may have been all that stood between them and a 3-peat. Also, this is after just one game had been played that season so it wasn't like Stram was trying to bandwagon with that pick like how some media types will call back to them predicting a dark horse halfway through the season once their risky picks get out to a good start.

No doubt, and Hank Stram was decisive and straightforward with his statement as well. What I like about Stram in the booth was that he came off as someone who was there to give his opinion on a sport he completely knew, and I think he really had great communication skills.

He had the reputation before Tony Romo when he was announcing of calling the play before it happened. Stram was arguably a better announcer than a coach (compliment intended)

I attended this game, cheering for the Saints, who won the game. My wife and I were harassed by KC fans upon entry and exit at Arrowhead. Never again attended a game in KC. I’ve attended games throughout the years at other NFL stadiums - no fan issues.

I remember that I missed this game and a few days later my buddy was asking me if I watched it? And that we lost to the Saints. Lol

The 91 Saints... Maybe if they don't lose most of their secondary to injury they would have at least gotten to the NFC title game and played the Skins. Until they won the SB in 09 under Payton, I always thought the Saints in 91 was the best team in their history. Those linebackers and Wayne Martin was coming into his own as a dominant d-lineman. They were better than 06 when they did go to the title game and certainly better than the 2000 team that finally won the first playoff game under Haslett.

Yes the most talented d in n.o. history but failed in critical games/situations unlike the d’s of the early 21st century

The Saints during the early 90s had the unfortunate luck of being caught in between great teams standing in their ways. The 1991 Redskins and Lions, along with the 1992 49ers and Cowboys.
