Honestly so hype for PLZA but please, please gamefreak, give us back the shiny sound. I can't see all colour so having that sound let me experiance the shock of random shinies along with others and it felt so so good.
being Visually Impaired open world broke my interest in Pokenon, and made shiny hunting impossible. I mean I still love Pokémon, but these factors made the games impossible for me to play now.
I forgot legends arceus pulled some mechanics from botw lol. Now we can just look at totk and see what theyll pull from that. Im thinking an underground system like the depths.
Not gonna lie, I wasn’t interested in Elestrals before this. The prospect of having a video game in the future though is drawing me in though. Super cool concept. Super cool monsters. And super cool lore!
I’m sorry but I’m enjoying playing Pokémon scarlet and violet. And it doesn’t hurt my head. And I haven’t seen any of those bugs especially the dumb one which seem fake. It does have it slow down but I’m still playing. And now I’m also playing X and Y on my modded 2DS XL with over 200 games on it. So I’m having fun
There's a korean business news article going around talking about Nintendo's "next device" because it's mainly done with korean parts or something along those lines. Anyway, one of the interesting things it says is that the "device" is scheduled for the second part of this year still. If that's true and not outdated info, I think the old rumor about a next gen update for Scarlet/Violet might still be true and this is gonna be this year's Pokemon content you guys were speculating about. It could very well be enough to bridge the gap until Z-A's release.
@@michaelolympus5994 That's likely, yeah. But all these talks about a rescheduling of the system's release and now these news kinda indicate to me that it was planned for this year. This and the rumor about a next gen update for SV could mean that this was their plan for this year, and now they have nothing.
I think it would be sick if megas were perma like Pokémon go or pokerogue. They already changed mechanics of mega from stat change taking place a turn after mega i believe
Speed buff was lagged for the next turn in gen 6, but in Gen7 they ”fixed” it. Not really a real change comprable to something like perma Megas. However, lets go wouöd be a better example, where they altered Mega’s quite much to fit the gameplay of no-items. Mega stones just werent needed suddenly despite that being a core feature in the gimmick’s function.
I don’t agree with silvers open world comment at around 42 minutes. Now that they have given us open world that’s going to be the base standard moving forward they can’t risk going back to grid based sells will suffer
Truly enjoyable episode. Can't say I've seen aDrive in this kind of setting, but he came across really sincere and respectful. Although I'm not sure if I missed the Hidden Power type (assuming Bug), and team of 6? (May require a rewatch if I missed it, or aDrive back, since it's such a fun guest segment)
Gigantamax is not worse than Megas ”because it stays only 3 turns”. It is not just one forms vs another. Megas are better than all the other gimmicks because they are about the Pokemon themselves, like Dusty said, ”real pokemon” in a way. Mega evolution is the actual *hidden power* of the Pokemon, manifesting itself; they are the actual forms of the Pokemon themselves. All the other gimmicks are caused by outside energy of the 3rd legendary. Dynamax is Pokemon just getting big, and Gigantamax has 0 lore as to why that happens. It literally exists just because GF knows new forms are more exiting than just size change. The only plausable headcanon is that the Dynamax energy from Eternatus somehow mutates the Pokemon sometimes, resulting to the different forms. However, unlike Megas, Gigantamax forms are not actual forms of the Pokemon, its just the Pokemon reacting and mutating due to Eternatus’ enegry. It doesn’t have nearly as much weight or soul as Mega Evolution. Same thing with Terastalization. Again, it has nothing to do with the Pokemon themselves, just Terapagos’ energy surrounding them to give them crystal crowns. And to top it all, while this is a fun gimmick in competitive, gosh how it is so unbelievably unorganic phenomenon, that doesn’t fit the world in any way… Why does ghost types get the Gen 1 Ghost -reference on top of their head, or flying types the flying Pikachu Balloons -reference? Or why do fire types get a chandelier crown, a human invention -> because for us the player it is a easy and convenient way to represent fire types. Of course these are fun references for a second, but they are breaking the immersion to the Pokemon world entirely when they are referencing something in the real world or are clearly designed to just convey a typing as understandably as possible; they have no reason to exist the way they do in-world and lore. And when you compare those unorganic crystal crowns, which can be used by any Pokemon, to actual beyond evolution transformations, which are created for the exact pokemon in mind, it is easy to see why Megas are still fan favorite while the rest of the gimmicks are just something that can be expected to be replaced again next generation. It is sad really. Z moves is a bit different, as it is the only gimmick that affects something else than the Pokemon themselves. Crystalized light energy from Necrozma is able to super charge a pokemon move. I like it lorewise and it kind of goes well with Megas as well, which is why gen7 competitive was fun because both mixed together well. But of course Z moves alone is nothing compared to Mega Evolution. Boosting a move vs evolving further to a completely new form is not even a competition lmao. Just my two cents why to me it has always been clear why Megas remained as fan favorites while the other were just replacable generational gimmicks
Finally you guys put one of my favorite content creators on with you! Adrive is awesome. I enjoyed this episode. Next bring on my other favorite Austin John Plays!
I feel like some people want to go back to sprites and think they are more alive than the 3d models because of nostalgia and imagination. Some say that pokemon were more alive with sprites, but I don't need my pokes bouncing up in down like Ryu in street fighter. That doesn't feel alive to me. They've never been more alive to me at this point in sv, but they still have a long way to go over all. I can't wait to see more experiments. I mean it would be cool to see a new sprite game I guess, but not in place of legends or for gen 10, but that might be too much for them at that point
Why the heck is Blastoise not a steel type? They changed a bunch of gen 1s to fairy and Blastoise mega evolves gets another cannon gigantamaxs and turns into a whole warship and no steel??? Gamefreak doesn’t make sense or atleast ground
I’m definitely in the camp that there’s something coming out this year, I just can’t decide on what exactly lol. I thought it was a little odd that the only game they announced was Legends: Z-A for next year. So I feel like even if it’s remake or spinoff, I think they’re gonna give us something this year. To me it’s just a matter of if it’s something to go to NSO or something they can market and make more money off of😅
I got so into listening that I didn't even realize it was already over, I really hope that GF builds up a great hype season for this game cuz like ADrive said there have been a handful of game hype seasons where it was just bleh. I'm genuinely very curious on when they plan to drop the games, cause if it's late 2025 then we still got a WHILE till we see a trailer, BUT if it's like early 2025 like PLA then Its gotta be sooner or later
Personally I don’t mind Pokémon taking more time between releases. Especially if it leads to an assassins creed effect like origins, odyssey, and Valhalla. I’m 24 tho idk if that’s ideal for their target demographic. My 1st game was Diamond and my first starter was chimchar.
I also haven't played Pokemon very much, except to get BBQs to earn the points for upgrading biomes. I have played a bit of Pokemon XD but I haven't been motivated to continue playing it even though I was going to play it to export all the Shadow Pokemon to Pokemon HOME. I also was working on a living Dex, but I have way too much on my plate to eat the Pokemon experience. :( Pokemon doesn't need to be there for me anymore. I have found other games like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. I don't really desire to play a game series that has gone stale.
Blimax and any Pokémon showdown competitive guest with meta game analysis, prediction and theory Mon crafting(what new mons/forms/ evos/ megas, what abilities stats) would be something I would really enjoy
I think the best way to balance mega evolution is simply making it so you can only use it if your pokemon has max friendship (like friendship evolution levels of high) and when you mega evolve it lowers friendship due to the sheer energy and pain it causes. This makes you not be able to use mega evolution in two battles in a row, making it more strategic of when should you actually use it and not just making mega evolution the "win" button.
Hell naw bro lol. Happiness is one of most obnoxious features to grind. There are 100 better ways to limit the use of it, even the way tera was limited would work better
Dam first time given a thumbs down to your guys video. Bringing a drive on this is a no go for me… but still like the videos and discussions this channel brings.
