My thoughts for certain choices: Falkner, Bugsy, AND Chuck: YES! THANK YOU!!! They really should have a Johto Pokemon for their initial team in their 1st battle. And those choices made for theirs are truly fitting. Falkner, Morty:...Yeah I agree they should mix it up a bit and not just add simply all members of one evolution line Whitney: Though I still can’t imagine her without a Clefairy Line Member,...your reason to replace it with Jigglypuff makes sense. Also good idea to add Furret cause of her cute theme Jasmine: Yes. Ampharos IS her main besides Steelix Pryce: Very interesting idea about his theme. Will: Yeah Slowking makes sense Koga: Yeah I was wondering about Weezing Erika: Yeah I was wondering about Vileplume Silver, Lance: LOVE THE MANGA REFERENCES! POKEMON SPECIAL/ADVENTURES MANGA READERS REPRESENT!!!😍😊 Brock, Misty: LOVE THE ANIME REFERENCES!!!😍😊 Janine: As I said before YES! Janine is her own person after all Red, Green/Blue Oak, AND Blue/Green/Leaf: And so the choices from the previous video AND this video come full circle. LOVE IT!!! 😍😍😍 Even though I Love Lapras, I really did love Red getting Espeon cause of the manga which is what made me want to get one. Truthfully I would have let Green/Blue Oak have Rhydon instead of Tyranitar because of the reasons in the manga...PLUS it would make sense that he would prove he can do just as good as the previous Gym Leader In HIS type-specialty 🌋
I feel like Paul is Silver brought to life in the Anime scene. Edit: also have Lyra be her own character with Marrill, and throw Yellow into the mix as well.
Even tho Silver appears on the Legend of Thunder intro, that special is canon, but I can't say the same about the intro, even tho Ash, Pikachu, Brock and Misty also appear slightly in that same intro
I miss Red’s Espeon too. When I first played Pokemon Silver many many moons ago, I evolved my Eevee into an Umbreon, so it was nice to see Red using the alternative new Eeveelution to me. Also Gary has an Umbreon in the anime, so giving the game version of Ash an Espeon just feels right to me. Maybe for my canon Red team I will include his Eevee, then when I have the means trade it to Emerald and evolve it into Espeon and trade it back to him for the rest of my play through. In fact I’m torn between using his Let’s Go team and his manga team.
I like the changes you made: 1.) The Gym Leaders should have at least 1 Johto Pokemon 2.) The new team you made for Lance because he didn't use any johto pokemon and it helps cover the flying-type weakness. I really like this team. 3.)The Elite Four use more pokemon of their type speacilty. I hope to see these new teams in future games.
I was a bit confused by your choices for leaving out gen 4 evolutions. Also pointing out red would have to trade with Blue and Green, despite the fact that Gold and Silver, HGSS and Let's Go are all in different timelines seemed weird, but these teams are perfect for a Let's Go sequel. It'll be cool to see how close your choices are if those games ever come out.
When I was a kid, I loved bw2 and the triple battles in the Pokémon world tournament (PWT). Seeing gym leaders like Brock and Misty with a strong team of 6 was always SO cool to me. In my head, Gym leaders were always holding back for their challengers but the PWT was their chance to finally go all out. Man I wish they’d bring that feature back one day
I personally think you could replace Blue's Tyranitar with Umbreon. While not in the game, he has one in the anime, and would still hint at his and Red's rivalry, not only being counterparts Red's Espeon, but his having type effectiveness against it
Feraligatr being with Lance would finally now make Charizard the only starter used by champions. (Plus, it indirectly makes him the link between Kanto and Johto)
For Silver,I think his team would be: Feraligatr Crobat Hitmontop Steelix Houndoom Raikou Feraligatr because it’s his main starter.Crobat, because he had one in the Johto games,Steelix and Houndoom because they are gnarly beasty looking mons.Hitmontop, because it fits his theme, ngl. And finally, the controversial one.Raikou, because I think Raikou would like a trainer who would care for his pokemon.I know that does not make sense with Silver’s personality, because he’s rude and mean to his Pokemon. But,when you beat him at Victory Road,he’s trying to see the lack of his strength..trust and love to his pokemon. And,he actually became a better, nicer person. And once Raikou saw that Silver was worthy of being it’s trainer,it follows him to let him catch it. This would be a really good team to battle against. Hope you like the team I gave for him.
01:40 That's so cute with the music~ 04:20 Why not Ditto? 09:50 I like the fact that you explains on not having the same team as another gym leader. 10:30 I still prefer Green (as the JP games cam Fire and Green version followed by Blue.)
Great video. Like this series, so I`m waiting for another 6 videos. And I would give Misty a Corsola in the games, since it really fits her, also it will be Gen 2 representation and in the anime Misty`s one was actually a pretty solid fighter.
Eh, I think the point is that Gym Leaders use Pokemon from only their one type. Sure, Jasmine can own an Ampharos, but for Gym battles she can't use it because it's not Steel. At least, that's how I'm framing it in a fanfiction I'm writing. :P The Elite Four and Champion are where teams can change. They shouldn't be tied down by a single type, they're meant to be among the best and so they should have varied teams.
While you have a point, this is not always the case if the amount of types in a region is low. For example: In Hoenn Steven Stone is classed as the Steel type trainer, despite that, he has the same amount Rock types as Steel types and a Claydol, so he can be classed as a Rock type as well.Thats the problem. You can give Wattson Pluse and Minun and then let Magneton replace Cradily for example.
have to disagree with keeping bugsy’s Syther. There are two reasons why people remember bugsy, one, his gender And two: syther is over powered for that point in the game, that’s one reason why Whitney’s miltank is so hard to take down. I think bugsy should instead have yanma. Also, Syther never really fit his/her chill, go with the flow personally.
I personally would love the idea of swapping the typing of the first few gym leaders. Morty could have been a great first gym leader making a unique struggle with the early route normal types and low level moves you learn, that way a Misdreavous could be his ace. Then with Faulkner being the fourth gym leader Pokemon like Xatu, Crobat or Noctowl could be great to have more Johto representatives on his team.
I figured I would assign teams that I think the protagonists would have if they were NPCs based on in-game encounters or gifts, Pokémon they are associated with across various media, relationships with other characters, or ones they have hanging around their home. Gold/Ethan -Typhlosion (Come on, it's practically as synonymous with Gold/Ethan as Pikachu and Charizard are with Red) -Togekiss (The Mystery Egg you get from Elm's assistant) -Umbreon (The Eevee you get from Bill, specifically as a contrast to Red's original Espeon) -Sudowoodo (in-game encounter) -Shiny Gyarados (in-game encounter) -Dragonite (the Extreme Speed Dratini you get from Dragon's Den) Kris -Meganium (The Starter she had in the manga) -Jynx (The Crystal exclusive Odd Egg plus another reference to Kris' manga counterpart who has a Smoochum on hand) -Espeon (The Eevee from Bill, foiling the Umbreon I gave to Gold/Ethan) -Mismagius (A Pokémon line frequently associated with Kris) -Shiny Gyarados (in-game encounter) -Dragonite (the Extreme Speed Dratini you get from Dragon's Den) Lyra -Meganium (A Pokémon she's paired with in Masters) -Togekiss (The Mystery Egg you get from Elm's assistant) -Ampharos (The Mareep Egg you can get from Primo) -Azumarill (You can't have Lyra without the Marill line) -Tauros (A Pokémon Lyra mentions owning in certain conversations) -Girafarig (A Pokémon she has in the anime)
@@LSmashUlt No its not. If we go by Base stat Total for strongest to weakest: Talonflame (499), Corviknight (495), Unfezant (488), Toucannon (485), Staraptor (485), Pidgeot (479), Swellow (455), Noctowl (452). So if we take out Swellow and Noctowl, who are naturally weaker because only 2 stage line, Pidgeot is the weakest early bird (Not counting its Mega). If we do count Mega however, Staraptor and Toucannon share the weakest early 3 stage bird spot. Unfezant is third strongest early bird.
I feel like if the hisui dex was included price would definantly have wyrdeer its an old man looking pokemon and its white which fits in with the ice type
Here is Johto my way Falkner - Hoothoot, Pidgey & Murkrow Bugsy - Yanmea, Ledyba & Spinarak Whitney - Miltank, Clefairy & Jigglypuff Morty - Misdreavus, Ninetales & Haunter Chuck - Poliwrath, Machoke, Hitmontop & Heracross Jasmine - Steelix, Skarmory, Magneton & Ampharos Pyrce - Piloswine, Sneasel, Delibird & Lapras Clair - Kingdra, Dragonair, Gyrados & Charizard Elite 4 Will - Xatu, Espeon, Girafarig, Slowking & Mr. Mime Koga - Crobat, Wheezing, Muk, Gengar & Arbok Bruno - Machamp, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop & Primape Karen - Houndoom, Umbreon, Sneasel, Murkrow & Tyranitar Lance - Dragonite, Aerodactyl, Charizard, Tyranitar, & Gyrados Kanto Post Game Brock - Golem, Rhydon, Omastar, Kabutops & Sudowoodo Misty - Starmie, Vaporeon, Golduck, Blastoise & Politoed Lt Surge - Electabuzz, Jolteon, Raichu, Electrode & Ampharos Erika - Vileplume, Victribeel, Bellossom, Sunflora & Meganium Janine - Venomoth, Arbok, Ariados, Crobat & Beedrill Sabrina - Alakazam, Hypno, Mr.Mime, Espeon & Slowbro Blaine - Arcanine, Ninetales, Rapidash, Flareon & Magcargo Blue - same as his original team I do have a rematch team for all of them that includes up to gen 5 pokemon, since that is latest gen we have seen the Johto gym leaders appear in.
@@Martin724K i didn’t realize that! I guess add another dragonite for him! And as for bugsy, he is the second gym so I don’t think it’s too weak, if any his Spinarak and Ledyba would be evolved
@@domenicavallone28 I think it's weak (Bugsy) cause let's look at other 2nd gym leaders: Misty's ace Starmie: 520 bst. Bugsy's (original) Scyther: 500 bst. Brawly's ace Makuhita: 237 bst. Gardenia's ace Roserade: 515. Lenora's ace Watchog: 420 Grant's ace Tyrunt: 362 Tyrunt & Makuhita have the lowest bst but they still hit hard, and even Lenora's Watchog has Retaliate
Why don't my boy Petrel have Ditto because it is the transforming Pokemon and it can bring some challenge into his battle. Also it fit his disguise theme as he use it as to pose a one of main cast's Pokemon.
Johto trainer main character/Player golds team would be Cynda line (starter) Togetic (egg) Umbreon (counter reds espeon) Sudowoodo (story stationary mon like red snorlax) Lapras (friday visit I guess) Box legendary or suicune if no lapras and extra could be tyrogue/hitmontop as gift mon)
The only change I'd make is evolving Brock's Onix into Steelix so it'd be tougher & referencing his first ever Pokemon evolving by Brock's brother in the anime.
I never understood why some of the prominent trainers in Johto didn't have Johto Pokemon despite them having options within the region (like Morty not having a Misdreavus). If anything I personally think Faulkner should have a Murkrow instead of Spearow, but you'd think they'd've at least gave him a Hoothoot instead of Pidgey AND Pidgeotto. In addition to the fact that Karen should've had a Sneasel, I also think she should've had a Tyranitar. I'd take a guess and say that maybe the reason they didn't give her one was because Pupitar don't evolve until level 55 and all her Pokemon's levels are lower than that, but they gave Lance 3 underleveled Dragonites and Faulkner an underleveled Pidgeotto, so I doubt they cared about that lmao.
I would have given Archer Nidoking and Proton a Rhydon instead as it keeps the idea of the Executives an element of Giovanni’s team but Archer is more the main suedo-leader of Team Rocket during the events of the Radio Tower. Also Arianna could have a Persian to hint at the idea of Giovanni and her are Silver’s parents and also a classy executive needs a classy cat
Feel that shouldn't let theme affect Pokémon choice if outside of type speciality but have a nice look to them when don't focus on type Falkner: Murkrow, Hoothoot and Natu Karen: Tyranitar instead of Gengar Lance: I already wrote this for Kanto but Aerodactyl, Gyarados, Arbok, Kingdra, Charizard and Dragonite and Clair can have her team based on this
