NEW Porsche Cayman: The Best Sports Car Ever? 

Just got a '24 Cayman S. Wasn't even really thinking about it as I was coming from a '07 Audi RS 4. Wanted to stay with a manual and I drove it and bought it. Aside from learning how to ingress and egress gracefully (I'm 64), it's an easy car to enjoy as a daily driver with absolutely perfection in handling and shocking potent torque on tap all over an impressive range. It strikes me as the ultimate, yet "almost" affordable (lLol), example of what makes Porsche so special probably in no small part because of the amazing boxer mid-ships engine. I wasn't even aware that Porsche quit making the ICE 718 in May. That's kind of like a tasty icing on the cake since having a last version of something this iconic kind of instills more pride.

I like your reviews but it would be better if you took the car on the highway so we could hear the engine and road noise at higher speeds.

Front hood is light bc it's aluminum so be cautious to only close it by pushing down on the emblem as to not deform the aluminum over time. Also, the sport chrono (drive select) is an additional package great for track racing and includes sport response and launch control.

When I was growing up the quintessential Porsche was the 928 from Risky Business. I do wish they still made a front engine entry level (entrier level than the Cayman) like the 944. But I guess the BRZ / GR86 fill that role.

I love the analogue style gauges too. I also like the idea of putting the key-in-the-dash. That way you KNOW where it is and cant lose it. (I hate keyless cars). Its a pocket battleship 👍

The background of the gauges and the belts would look nice in yellow, too

I drive this exact car in Graphite Blue, probably the best all around sports with its mid engine design.

Porsche steering feel and handling are unmatched. Interiors not so much. Love the Flat 6, but not a fan of Flat 4 turbo.

For a 2023 it looks soooo outdated, by the looks I thought it was a 2015.

I think most people prefer the _718 Cayman GTS 4.0_ with a manual transmission. [Hint, hint, wink, wink. - Please and thank you.] The other two contenders from Stuttgart are the 992 Carrera T or possibly a 718 Cayman GT4 if I can find a good deal. [Another hint, hint, wink wink - if you're lucky enough to find any of these models, Ben.] I have no doubt that one of these Porsche models will be sitting in our garage in the near future. In fact, my wife has made the Porsche her goal while I concentrate on the Corvette. Of course, the Porsche will come _after_ the C8 Z51 Corvette acquisition. I *must* have a V8 in my life once again. Unfortunately, I find myself starting to veer away from the Camaro ZL1 6M due to the demographic of owners. Let's just say that they tend to wane on the _classy_ end of the social spectrum but I digress. Alas, this is when reality hits you *_hard_* ladies and gentlemen. You quickly realize that you can no longer consider certain makes and models based on the maturity level of the car. You [the viewer] know what I mean... Stay classy my friends.

I hope the car can go 300km/h.
