A few notes: - The jailbreak URL has changed to jailbreak.psp2.dev from deploy.psp2.dev, but if you use the old URL it should redirect you anyway - If you have a PS Vita 1000 (OLED) model, it is possible to partition the Vita and bypass the need to use an official Sony Memory Card. Here are instructions: guide.psp2.dev/guides/creating-an-internal-memory-card - To restore PS Store access, install the ITLS-Enso app via VitaDeploy's App Downloader - Jailbreaking your PS Vita will allow you to continue to earn trophies, and your account won't get banned unless you do something like try to spoof/cheat trophies
I tried your last video but couldn't pass the step of installing vpkj after downloading it on vita deploy. What could be the problem? I also tried deleting it but it seems that i couldn't delete files. What could be the problem
Well some jailbreaks that "require" a PC (not Vita specifically but quite a few others like I believe the Switch and the Wii U) will also work with just an Android phone
@@Patatigatti123 Hello. I had a PC modded Vita, and due to some stuff my brother did I had to rejailbreak it from scratch using the methods in the video 1st question : No, I haven't had any limitation compared to how my Vita were the first time I hacked it 2nd question : Yes, there's an app called PKGj that Retro Game Corps shows in this video around the end that acts like an alternative shop from which you can dowload PS Vita, PS One and PSP games. However you don't have all games that ever existed on those so having a PC is still recommanded for some titles.
Anyone else had an issue with it reverting back to normal PlayStation software it’s self. Mine has done that? Still has vita deploy, pk and the other downloaded apps but firmware is 3.74 again
I went through so much trouble setting up my vita and the sd card mode. I am happy to see the process is a lot more simple and streamlined now. Not having to use a pc is huge.
yes. jailbreaking vita and setting up sd2vita ~4/5 years ago was RIDICULOUS. Tore my hair out for hours and still didn't know half of what was happening.
One important step that isn't articulated in the video, but took me a few tries to figure out: At 6:41, after selecting all and then unselecting SceloTrash, you have to use arrow up or down to navigate OFF of SceloTrash onto one of the highlighted/selected folders before using the copy function. Otherwise, it will copy SceloTrash instead of the 15 selected folders. If you see "1x Copied" when you're on this step, this is why.
@@ncnuggets You don't select scelotrash. You have to unselect it as you don't want to copy it. The destination folder already contains scelotrash. But you have to move the cursor/highlighted line off scelotrash before copying.
The timing of this video is unbelievable. I wasn't sold on the idea of this before before but just this morning decided to revisit it so my Vita isn't just gathering dust. I searched for Vita vids on this channel and this one popped up at the top. The gaming gods smile on us today
@@solkalibri1376 So far so good. I had to order the SD2Vita adapter, but while I'm waiting I got Henkaku and Vitadeploy installed and everything went exactly as Russ' guide describes, so I'm optimistic on the rest
@@akyura00 I mainly bought this console for collection purposes (and I've always wanted this one when I was a kid). Modding was a secondary icing on the cake.
@@MerrickCamo520 yes, I used a Japanese PS Vita in this video, the process is the same. As far as other emulators, you can find them here: vitadb.rinnegatamante.it/#/
Such a good tutorial bro. Hands down has to be one of the clearest easiest to follow tutorial on anything I’ve ever tried on RU-vid. Thank you good sir 👏
Hey so I’m trying to do mine and when I type in the web address it brings me to an orange screen that says unlock me. I choose unlock me but then it says could not corrupt the JSArray and then it doesn’t do anything after that. I’m confused about it.
Im so confused did you need a memory card on ps vita 2000 in order for it work. Because when i press format target storage it just says "fortmat failed (c1-2755-9)"
@@buttjole7498 Yes, you will need to have a micro sd card and a SD2VITA (micro sd card adapter). If it's not working properly, try to change another memory card or use a brand new one.
@@queent7136 I had this same error message last night, with an older 64GB micro SD, so I just got a brand new 256 Samsung as per recommendation and still getting the same error message... any ideas? - Thanks in advance
For me everything went well until the step where i have to format. Whenever i try to do it it shows me an error message saying "Format failed (C1-2738-0). From what I've seen in the comments I'm not the only one having this issue. What should i do?
I am also having issues formatting the sdvita SD card. Different error code however.. error code is c2-12828-1. I've looked it up and everyone who has this error is already playing a game or loading a game up. Brand new SD card, still the same error. Then upon doing anything else, all UI fails and the only thing I can do is reboot it in safe mode... 🥲
I grew up in foster care, without love or affection… now as an adult i seldomly ever use this term… but…. Plain and simple bro, i LOVE YOU! I never had a chance to play any of these games as a kid and now i can 😁
Yea so when I tried this last night said file was corrupt then tries again this morning now it’s not working at all any tips? (Now it says failed 0x804101C8)
6:43 For those who confused because the pop up message only shows "copied 1 folder", after un-selecting SceloTrash/ you need to move up one folder to pspemu/ by pressing up (the text will be green as shown in the video). Notice that his point finger pressed the "up" directional button after pressing square on SceloTrash/. If you are at this point where it says only 1 folder copied, you can deselect all by pressing triangle, and deselect all, select all again, and redo the process.
Great guide! A couple of questions: is it absolutely necessary to sign into a psn account? Is it risky to use a primary account or should a new account be generated for this purpose?
I've had a hacked Vita for years now and nobody's account has been banned for using a hacked Vita. There's no danger using your main account. Still go on PSN, use the store, and gain trophies. The only way I think to get banned is to do blatant online cheating.
Hey thanks for the video and education… being trying to do the jailbreak for my son but my buttons don’t seem to work after it get to the hello-bootstrap v1.0.4 by skgleba . Nothing seems to work when it gets there except the PlayStation button. I can’t even exit it the keypads go off anytime I reach that page. Please help
I definitely recommend that users with a 1000 model vita look into a PSVSD instead of a SD2Vita like you showed. They're definitely a bit harder to use and find, but having sd card storage AND keeping your vita game slot is the best of both worlds. Since they've been out of production for quite some time, I had several made using the open source blueprints via PCBway and they work great! I think it's really the best solution for users who actually have physical vita games that they still want to use and don't want to sacrifice any functionality with homebrew.
Dude, just wanna say I subscribed out of gratitude for helping me mod my Anbernic RG35XX and now my Vita! Your guides are so easy to follow! You're doing God's work my man!
for anyone that is having issues not being able to see the memory when plugged in via usb, once you are inside the file manager press the start button on the vita and it will show a menu, scroll until you see usb device and changed that to sd2vita and it will work once plugged in to a pc you will see the full memory, the video is awesome but just in case someone needs this. thank you
so I'm a little confused, do you get games for free? (pirated) or do you just download your games from your gamecards onto the system so you no longer need to switch game cards
Wish I still had my Vita tbh. TearAway was such an amazing game. It's not a hard game by any means. But, if you liked LBP and the creativity of the levels. You'd probably have enjoyed this game. Also- The narration was vibrant and really drew you into the world's quarrels to be solved. And for those of you with a curious mind. There's hidden rewards to find on almost every level.
Mine popped up with the HENIo a playstation vita jjailbraek home page and says press unlock but it wont liad the page and says it could not corrupt the JSArray what do i do now :(
@RetroGameCorps Why do we need to log into our PlayStation account before hacking? Wouldn't it be far too risky to use a production account that has money invested in it to log on to a hacked system?
This video was brilliantly simple. I got a modded vita, but totally messed it up and couldn’t figure out how to fix it, so I went the route of starting over from scratch. This was a big help.
@@rockafellainc.970 not sure what you mean by upgrading the SD card. There's a specific card you should use for the vita. Don't think certain sizes above a certain amount would be compatible.
@@rockafellainc.970 ok. Well, if you swap out the memory card and it's all compatible, just follow the steps from the start and there shouldn't be any issues while mounting the new card. This video was pretty detailed. I had 0 issues with getting it all setup.
@@DvonAntonioI figured it out, format the new SD card and then make sure you copy and paste every single file in the OG card into the new one then you can just put the new card in and viola same system and files
This process is so easy, I was able to casually do it throughout a Saturday (with stops and starts). Been enjoying a trip down memory lane with Retroarch.
Thank you Ross for the great tutorial. Worked flawlessly and quickly. Since I got my first Vita just a few weeks ago I am amazing by the quality of the screen and the general quality for a 2011 handheld. Sony should have had more success with it. After changing the prioritized harddrive to the microSD I filled it up with games. My question: Can I now switch again to the PS Vita memory card (uxO etc) back so that I can also fill up the Vita memory card? Thank you and thanks to the community in general. Best wishes Michael
Just got my vita 2k in today and I'm really excited to jailbreak this thing but when I click the unlock button, I get a message that says "ERROR: Could not corrupt the JSArray." Any ideas?
The Vita is probably my absolute favorite form factor for a handheld device of all time, and I'm always upset when new handhelds *aren't* just a new Vita (I'm looking at you, steamdeck). This is going to breathe new life into my old Vita, thank you!
Henkaku is not showing up in the menu for me after I installed it. I have vita deploy but henkaku doesn't show in menu even though it says it installed
So I have a bit of a dilemma. I own a 3G OLED PS Vita and one of the 3G SD card adapters (need to install) and I own a Slim Vita. Which would you mod? both or one or the other? If I CFW my slim, can I still play my physical carts on it? or will it become permanently digital only??? I cant decide and not sure if I should just mod both...
I tried this on a psvita 2000 and when it comes to wipe the storage it fails to wipe, I have a 16GB ps card in it. The error message I'm getting is: Format failed (C1-2755-9)
i love the video but i cant keep up lol i cant unselect sceiotrash/ so cant get any further my buttons seem mixed i press squere to unselect but it wont ?
thanks for a simplified video guide. very helpful. however after jailbreaking the PS Vita did you ever try to use the original purchase digital games save on PS Vita's original memory card? Is it still gonna work or not.
Thanks for this video....I still have my PSP done from years ago.....my kids use it now...so I just got a PS Vita 2000 for 60$ and going to homebrew it...Love the non PC version.....do you have other vids on installing NES,Sega games etc....Thanks
