She is adorable! Morgan, I noticed that her left front wrist seems to be hyper-extended a little bit. It's not unusual in young animals for that to happen; but you may want to get a vet to take a look at it just to see if she might need a brace to help strengthen those tendons so that it doesn't become a problem later.

Veterinarian here; you are correct, that left carpus is *definitely* hyperextended. Luckily, as long as she gets to a vet it can be managed so that it doesn’t become an issue later on. It’s quite common in rapidly growing, large-giant breed dogs. Great eye!😊

Finally the dog is home. I am not a farmer, I don't even own a dog. I am a just a doctor working in a town and miss my village life. I wish to go back to the simple life where everyone is helpful to each other. This helps me relax so much after my long shift hours. I just love Mr. Toby Dog, Ginnie, Molly and Pablo Barn Cat. 🙏☺️☺️☺️

You are a doctor? Respect! I know you dont get much of that these days... you know back in the day Doctors were basically gods... because they took other peoples lives more then they helped them, but they were atleast respected! You had to shower, put on your best clothes and make sure to have new underwear when meeting the doctor! These days, people dont shower for weeks, have mud on their pants and shoes, sneeze on your face and then they give you a bad rating on the internet just because you asked them to sneeze in another direction... Again, only Respect!

Maremma Shepherds are typically quiet and apprehensive in new environments and around new people. The Livestock Guardian Dog breeds are notorious for observing any new situations before getting involved or leaving completely.

@@ontheskidsinamerica1367 If the people are known and trusted, and the dog is a trained adult and is by nature trusting of strangers, I see no reason it wouldn't work. My very first dog was a senior, 14 year old mongrel, and was fine spending time in a car with strangers.

12:18 I know its a small thing but I'm always so impressed with how well trained Toby is, even though he's on alert mode and obviously very excited, as soon as Morgan says "sit" he immediately listens. Toby is such a good boy its beyond measure.

Toby was such a good boy! I especially loved how he kept giving the pup space when he first met her. He would walk away from her because it's what she needed. Looking at her body language at the time, and the lady said she was growling; instead of taking that as a challenge, he understood that she was afraid and he gave her the space she needed. He really is an amazing dog!

Marcia from MI here. Abby doesnt have an undercoat, winter hair coat, too cold outside to keep her outdoors 24/7. Shaking means she's trying to keep warm. Suggest: Please put coat on her or bring her inside until consitent warm CA temps are reached in your area.

Great to see a team coming together. When she is older you will find if there is a threat she will stay with the stock and Toby will be free to investigate the threat . Maremmas definitely work better as teams. Watching the communication and as they work together is amazing.

Abbey is beautiful. I would have waited and put her in her outside home in the morning. She came from a warm climate to very cold temperatures and to a strange home in the dark where she is nervous because she is away from her familiar surroundings. Now she will be left alone in the dark and cold as soon as she has arrived.

Reminded me of when I got my golden almost 11 years ago. As we turned out of the farm, she was on my lap she looked back at the farmhouse, and then looked at me and started licking my face. She knew. That is a really pretty puppy. She is going to get along really well. Looking forward to watching her learn from Toby.

I know they are built for the outside, amd she will live a happy life with Toby and she will be spoiled and getting the best care......however, I must admit it did tug on my heart strings a little during that short clip of her being all comfy on that fluffy bed in the hotel. My first thought was...enjoy your hotel stays girl...because you'll never get to experience that again for the rest of your life :(

This is why it's dangerous to anthropomorphize animals. You empathy is great but ultimately doesn't do you any favors, it just makes you unhappy and you deserve better than that. Really, Abby isn't going to miss that bed one bit and ultimately will be an experience she doesn't want.

You're acting like Morgan just threw her out in a dark field and left her there. She has a shed, straw, and a very warm dog house. She is also not a pet and they quicker she acclimatizes to her environment the better for her well-being. A slow introduction would be confusing and cruel. Also, she rode across the country, she experienced cold weather along the way....or do you think Olivia let her poop in the car and hotel room?

When we introduced our St Bernards, we put them on leashes where they could touch noses only for a couple hours. Honey Bear the big female was the senior and Blue Buck Mckinnly was the new dog on the block. We were concerned the Honey Bear would kill him. But, they came to like each other. She's not a Labrador or a Border Collie! You will note that Toby is also shy. Don't confuse shy with timid. Maremma have been bred to be cautious around strangers because they are guard dogs, it's a feature not a bug. It would be bad if she was a outgoing people pleaser. Morgan trained Toby just fine. Abby isn't timid at all and Morgan is experienced and well equipped to train her. It won't be difficult at all, unless he's trying to train her to be a social dog, which he's not.

Left everyone she knows, learned to ride car, bonded with Olivia, acclimated from Cali weather, show up at a new place in the dark, new bird noises, new dog new humans. I'm impressed she ate. Someone did not guide Morgan very well in this undertaking but Abby is sturdy and will stop stressing and settle in soon enough tough Olivia leaving will cause angst.

@@ontheskidsinamerica1367 I agree completely. Even if a dog is going to live outside. It's just not good to leave a puppy outside in winter like here. For the reasons you said. This was just sad(and she should have had a dog winter coat to help keep her warm at the very least).

Morgan I have a question. Do you think if they met in the day time it would have gone better? Toby is doing his job mostly at night right, so he could have been more on alert and or nervous because of that. Either way you did a great job with the introduction. Your so loving and calm with Toby so he would feed off your energy and know everything was ok. You are so blessed. She is beautiful. THank you again Olivia. I would absolutley love your job. I don't care for humans too much, or at least in person, so hanging with a beautiful adorable animal as I travel would be heaven for me.

Hey the walk is very powerful. Walk them together on leash around your farm. Just once a day. It will help the bond with the two immensely. She’s so beautiful!! Congrats Morgan! To TobyDog too!!!

Please provide her details for business if she agrees. I have friends in NY who are buying a dog from my aunt in California. She would be well compensated and it is nice to see a person who takes her job so seriously. Congrats to the family farm on the new addition. Toby will be so happy to have a new mate. Make special time for just you and him if you can. Like a special walk around the farm so he feels he is getting special time too. Madame Abigaile Louise Cane Bianco? Cane Bianco means white dog in Italian.

Thanks for sharing! Olivia is so sweet & a great puppy aunt. It would be emotional to have a bond with these puppies & then leave them at their forever homes; hugs to Olivia for a job well done. The grandma in me wouldn’t be able to do a job like this.
