My tradesman 5500 I use for work is equipped equivalent to a XLT from the early 2000’s. My Laramie 3500 has more then plenty of comfort treats for me. I’d rather save the money and buy a Laramie then customize it how I want it and create a custom one of a kind look. That’s what I did with my 3500, I took it to Krietz in Frederick and had them completely change the outside and I get compliments on it all the time.
I like the Limited, but I don’t need all the bells and whistles. I would get a nicely equipped Big Horn. Awesome video JB thanks for the review brother. And Where is Mikey B.?? It’s been awhile.
3:20 I have a Limited & I like the look of the Limited wheels but the Laramie wheels are easier to clean, much. My podna has the Laramie & not too long ago, we iced down beer, cranked up the music & spent the day detailing our trucks & hanging out. That’s when I found out how much easier cleaning his wheels were than mine.
To me the only appeal of the Limited are the headlights. You can get high quality projectors from Morimoto for $1700, vs the $12k difference for the Limited. Also you have ~200 lbs more payload in the Laramie (in the 3/4 tons). Pretty ridiculous the Laramie doesn’t come standard with LED projectors. But of course if you’re into all the other extras the Limited could be worth it.
Nice video I enjoyed watching I brought the 2022 Laramie all black night edition with all most everything in it I wanted a limited edition of the truck but no one had them in stock I have the 8” screen vs the 12” that’s the only thing I am missing that I really wish I had in my truck
Awesome video man. Both trucks look incredible, love the storm trooper look. In my humble opinion, Ram trucks are the best looking trucks on the road. I just got my first truck a week ago. It’s a 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie crew cab 4x4 in Flame Red with the night edition. I absolutely love my truck.
I would most likely take the LIMITED, but I sure LOVE my REBEL, which has many of the options that the limited has. It's a vehicle that I simply love to get in and drive, as it is very comfortable, smooth an quiet!
I bought a used 2020 Laramie that has a MSRP of 66k, 14k miles for 51k...it is basically a Limited minus a few things, which are not worth the 10k+ price increase of another low mileage limited I was looking at.
That’s awesome. You took the smart route as you too realized that the Limited although is very nice is also very overpriced compared to the Laramie as really, you’re paying for wood trim and projector headlamps. I am shopping for the same deal as you just did so I hope to find one soon. And no, they still have the 360 camera option on the 2021 but you had to get an earlier build anything before March 2021 as once the chip shortage situation started hitting, they stopped making the 360 camera option.
I bought a 2021 Limited longhorn 3500 with a Cummings diesel. It’s an amazing truck well worth the extra money. One surprise is the improvement in the ride. It just floats going down the interstate and it’s a lot more comfortable for a lot of hours behind the wheel. Thanks for the review JB you do a great job.
This is what I never understood. The point of the limited is to have the different look and luxury appearance. These 2 trucks are miles different in price but look exactly the same. This is why if i were to buy a limited I would keep the unique looks of the limited with the beautiful chrome grill and optional body color front and rear bumper for the nice sleek look
You can package the Laramie to be an almost exact replica of a Limited, the front grille not withstanding. The one difference when you build them on the website, is that you can add the "Offroad" package with the night edition to the Laramie. You can't do that with the Limited. The Laramie allows the most options for a custom order.
Yeah, I got the laramie with the off road sport II package. Just put a fox coilover leveling kit on with 35's. Off road it is a beast and highway use its still a beast.
I like the Laramie wheels but they would be better if they were gloss black to match the grill, Matte wheels fade and turn chalky after a few years. The Limited wheels are clear coated which should hold up better in the long run.
Hi @@abeg9959, my personal experience was not too great. I had a sagging corner which the dealer attributed to a sensor with a price tag to fix of 1700 USD. I opted to delete it and replace with a new lift for 2500 USD instead (83K miles). Why does a single sensor replacement cost 1/2 as much as the Air Ride option upgrade? Since then I custom ordered a new RAM and made sure that option left off (not possible on a Limited so I bought a juiced up Laramie)
I am so confused the 12 in touch screen is here on the Laramie and all other yt videos but when I check online at used ones on cargurus they don't have it but they are all Laramie's?
Limited for sure. So many features standard. When I spec'ed out both the way I wanted, Limited was just under $3K more and that was with the Laramie not having air suspension.
I don't offroad, don't tow, maybe I'll use the bed for a mountain bike excursion and the dogs, but DAMN I love the Limited! Comfort is a huge plus and will help sell it to the wife haha.
I do like the reviews on youtube about comparing trucks, since this is the best way to know the differences between the trucks. However there is so many variations depending what options are on a vehicle and Ram does a terrible job explaining there options in detail on their web page. I just ordered a Laramie with the Rambox but without the Bed Utility Group, didn't realize in order to get the box divider you need to order the Bed Utility Group. Something needs to change. Either the dealer needs to be more knowledgeable or Dodge themselves need to have their own videos explaining all the differences in detail. By the way, you will get parking sensors on the side of the bumpers with the Laramie, by ordering the advanced safety group option.
From what I remember seeing online, is that the diesel version gets the column shifter, but the gas versions get the knob shifter 😒 Really wanted the gas version, but that knob shifter is just 😵💫😵
I agree that the limited is nicer, but I’m with you on the wheels, I prefer the Laramie wheels. I am just about to order a 23, but was also thinking the Laramie GT, which I believe has a better interior than the standard Laramie, more of the TRX interior, with the shifter in the consul. What do you think of the Laramie GT? The biggest issue I have between the two is weight, the limited weighs 500-600 pounds more, and drives a little more sluggish than the Laramie, assuming it’s from the air suspension weight along with all the better materials in the limited which packs on the pounds. I went into the dealer and options both out, they came out about the same price, optioned out a Laramie GT as it was a limited
Small world here. Love the Laramie wheels over the limited's version. I've got a 2022 limited level 1 etorque V8 with anti-slip, a 33gal in an ivory night edition with the multi function tailgate, ramboxes and moonroof. Saw your 3.21 limited drive with the empty trailer video and I debated the 3.92's but seeing as I do mainly highway without towing, I think the 3.21's are gonna do just fine for what I want it to do. If I do tow, I'll be nowhere close to maxing out the 3.21's limits.
I bought a Bright White 2021 Limited with the night appearance package! The air suspension is great and I get looks as if I'm driving an exotic car. the Storm Trooper looks is definitely the way to go.
Fan-fucking-tastic review dude. Super thorough and hit all the points that someone would have wanted in comparison for them both. Take my subscription my friend
One thing for sure, you got to read that window sticker cuz you may not actually be getting on the truck what’s written on the window sticker! Deleted means what it says, lol!! Nice review JB.
I currently have a bighorn. I’m debating Laramie vs limited. Only feature about the limited I really like is the air suspension. I also have a dog so she would scratch up the leather seats.
I have the 2014 Limited, and it is a great truck. The suspension works good, but if you raise it to off road 1 or off road 2, it will go back to normal ride height over 30 mph.
I had a question I have a ram 1500 limited night edition but it doesn’t let me do the heads up display I don’t get why I don’t even get the settings option to do the heads up display
You need to make sure you have that feature to begin with. Only available on 2021 model years and you have to have the Technology Package which will include the head-up display.
@@kwez8651 correct. Even on a 2021 you need the Technology Package which is around $1700 or so to get the heads up display and also includes the rear view digital mirror.
I would not mind keeping the wheels on either of the trucks..... IF They were a different color. Just gotta break up the all black look. I like to be able to see my wheels, not get a flashlight because the color of the wheel, tires and or lug nuts all match the same color.
Hi JB, Hands down for the limited with the exception of air suspension! The black grill, & the special headlights stand out! I like these features! What's your opinion on the split tailgate? My opinion is mixed.
@@JB_WhoWork Totally agree! Wish ram would bring back the 8 ft. box to all crew cab models even if a option! Longer loads say 14ft. 2x4 studs fit nicely with less overhang then 6ft, 4in.box!
When I bought my Limited Black Edition, I had the choice of two…one with a standard tailgate and a 33 gallon fuel tank and one with the multi-function tailgate and a 26 gallon fuel tank. On a weekly basis, I am glad I chose the 33 gallon fuel tank, but there have been times where I really wish I had the multi-function tailgate
U compare a diesal vs gas and this is the comparison between the two? Bro those trucks are apples to oranges what a stupid comparison smfh. U couldnt get two gas Rams to compare? Cmon bro this was just plain dumb!
