I plan on picking up the Corsair K95 Platinum next week and I want to do a comparison, what do you think of the K95?

i like the idea...not very familiar with corsair stuff but should be good

Nick Capaccio o yea this is like the ultimate battle, k95 plat and blackwidow chroma v2 is imo the best boards both companies have made, my suggestions to improve them are to at least get better font keycaps on the k95 plat and have a dedicated volume control

I really want one, so I'm going to try and pick one up soon. That seems to be the best streaming device out right now, price is steep though, I would like them to release one without the controller.

If you're that casual console gamer, and don't really care about fps and lots of pixels, go for it. If you get a pc, that's what most pc gamers want. ON THE OTHER HAND, if you're the kind of guy who likes to just sit down and play some video games for a bit, then that's a pretty good buy to get if you don't want a console but want something like a pc. If you need anything else feel free to reply back :)

This has the new Greetech switches rather than the Kailh switches that used to come with previous version of blackwidow. So you would have to wait for some time for people to figure it out.

+It'sJustin I can think of a few reasons: 1) RGB MX Blues are almost never in stock and more prone to QA issues verses Cherry's MX Reds and Browns or the non RGB MX Blue variant. Also the switches in my BW: X were a lot more consistent than the Corsair LUX K70 with Blues I bought on release. 2) Razer uses Costar stabilizers which in my opinion, feel and sound much better than the Cherry stabilizers that Corsair uses. 3) Backlighting is subjective, I would say Razer's is still brighter and looks cleaner. 4) Corsair uses a rubber cable verse a braided one which looks cheap on a $150+ keyboard. 5) Razer's magnetic wrist rest is much better in every aspect over the Corsair one. 6) Audio passthrough on the Razer, not found on the Strafe. 7) Much more professional looking keycap font on the BlackWidow. 8) A lot of people have reported the Corsair logo peels off over time on the Strafe RGB. 9) Razer has macro keys. 10) Synapse is lighter on resource usage, much easier to use and can everything CUE can.

+Skrunch the green switches feel cheap to me compared to cherry mx blues (can't speak for the orange or yellow switches), the strafe has a metal top plate which looks and feels nicer than the black widow, the back lighting is pretty close imo, but I'd honestly say ducky's rgb lights look better to me. I have to disagree with some of your points but I think razer have come a long way since the black widow 2014.

***** The Strafe has a plastic top cover, same as the BlackWidow, both keyboards have a metal plate where the switches are mounted as every plate mounted keyboard does. Have you used the newer Greetech switch? To me they both felt great, I'd say they're completely equal in my honest opinion, and more of a personal opinion which you like more but I wouldn't say it feels cheap at all. Now if we're talking about the Kailh Razer switch, then I agree, the Cherry MX Blue variant is definitely better. Also yep, Ducky has some great keyboards, the only thing that keeps me off from their keyboards is the one year warranty and USA support.

I can't say I've tried the newer green switches because I've only bought one razer keyboard which was the 2014 ultimate, I also thought that the strafe had a metal top plate, might've been thinking of the k70 though

Yes, you can remap any key with the Synapse software.

I haven't been able to pickup the K95 Platinum yet, which I really want to try out. I'd say for the money though, the K70 RGB or BlackWidow X probably would be the way to go if you don't care about the dedicated macro keys.

Your average Brit & Whovian hey man, I was gonna get this keyboard but I just got the razer blackwidow x chroma tournament edition I think it's 10-20$ cheaper than this, and it's pretty much the same thing except for wrist wrest and other stuff, but I think the side USB is to support the lighting to give it more power to function better, some mechanical keyboards do that, just get the keyboard I got, it uses 1 USB slot

The switches on the V1 are of a horrible quality, since razer only recently switched to a better manufacturer. The software is also better, and if you look at the "cpas lock", "scroll lock" etc. indicators in the top right, they're pactically invisible on the V1
