Man, i own the v2 version for around a year. A few days ago I found a refurbished classic in a really low price and since I always wanted one but could not afford it back in the day, I bought it. I had them there side by side and didn't notice it AT ALL :O

Yeah, I think they should. Making the effects more exclusive to certain models is a weak way to coerce people to upgrade IMO. After all one of the big selling points of mechs is that they last a long time.
great video! I impulse bought the v1 about a week before the v2 was announced, but in my opinion, I wouldn't trade up just for the wrist rest, led indicators and everything else. still a bummer that I paid full price for the v1 tho
I ordered it directly from Razer. It's with the Nordic layout since im Swedish and they shipped it from Ireland where their EU warehouse is located. 2 days with DHL express so it was pretty neat.
@@MrBogoer No, I was serious but ended up getting the V2 because I couldn't find a V1 with macro keys and it doesn't have a wrist rest. I do really fucking like the font on the V1 though.
@@MrBogoer Well I've been using the original Blackwidow (blue, non chroma) for like 7 years or so and I still fucking love the font, it is so cool. Main reason why I haven't upgraded yet.
So basically just aesthetic differences. In that case I'm keeping my v1 since I much prefer the font, I feel like the font really sets it apart from other keyboards.
Both Versions do not have lights for the symbols... Which at night sucks a lot in my own opinion... But I love this keyboard and Ill never going back to a non-mechanical. Awesome review and you Sir. Just got another subscriber!
hey man, I do sometimes watch your videos and I genuinely enjoy them, but I think you should find a new "profile picture". It looks kinda cheap or something and your account will IMO look more professional with a smoother logo
I like the Corsair rapidfire just a tad bit. However, I'm a sucker for loud mechanical keyboard therefore I really love this board, and I'm glad that I picked it up yesterday.
I'm getting my first ever gaming pc soon. I've decided to get the razer mamba mouse but I can't decide on which razer rgb keyboard to get because the differences between them all are very minimal in my opinion
Anu Mann I recommend you to get the deathadder chroma instead of the mamba. for your keyboard I recommend blackwidow x chroma. and for headset I recommend steelseries Siberia v3 prism
if you want the wrist rest and the macros then get the blackwidow chroma v2. if you want a more simple keyboard then the blackwidow x chroma is for you
If I were to decide between a v1 and a v2, I would definitely pick the v2, but if you already have a v1 then I don't think it's a super necessary upgrade.
I could be wrong, but I think they got rid of the mic passthrough jack on the v2 and replaced the headphone jack with a 3.5mm hybrid jack for both mic and headphones
I own a Razer Blackwidow V1, and I love how reliable it is. However, I wish you could change some features to match the V2 like the yellow Razer switches and the newly added lighting effects.
Good video. I just killed my Microsoft Surface Keyboard by accidentally pouring wax over it... As I have both Ornata (2019) and BW-Chroma (2014) I kind of have issues with the Ornata so it's just gathering dust in the cabinet. As for BWChroma I got (V1) It was used heavily, and spilled a lot of liquid over the years but despite that it still soldiers on, and quality of typing is way better than Ornata one... However it was bugging me whats the difference between V1 and V2, where it seems that V2 is actually a downgrade to V1... and only palm rest is something to consider... So you can swap the keycaps from the v1 to v2 despite them being different type of razer switches? Just making sure because I feel the v2 is an overall better keyboard but I like the blocky font better as it brings out the lights more.
Dude I just bought the blackwidow chroma V2 but i want the v1 because it’s better and you can play better I like the V1 better if I get a v1 I am going to sell my v2 first and then I’m going to get a v1
this video made me decide to get the razer Blackwidow chroma v2 and i love it although, the first one i bought from best buy had a broken wrist wrest... best buy always poorly handles the items they sell the box was also very scratched. i got a new one and it works great.
i'm deciding between the v2 chroma or the ornata chroma, the ornata looks much cooler and is cheaper, but the BW v2 is mechanical and will last longer. (and the v2 comes with the very important keychain)

Should I get Blackwidow Chroma V1 used(70$), Blackwidow chroma V2 New(146.99-80$BestBuycertificate), Blackwidow Chroma X New(139.99-80$), Corsair k70 Lux New($134.99-$80). I want to stick with the Razer theme as i already have the chroma mousepad and mouse but the corsair looks so nice and I want to stay with green/blue switches. -=minus
+Brainbean please help me out i got the new Razer BlackWidow V2 and the Razer Kraken but the Razer Kraken have 2 headphones and mic ports but the BlackWidow V2 has only 1 headphone port so how do i use my mic?
I really enjoy the blackwidow chroma x because of the Exposed metal top mounting witch makes is really easy to clean but the new razer blackwidow chroma v2 has alot of features that the chroma x dosent have like the armrest and usb and headphone slots so i was wondering if there is gonna be a blackwidow chroma x v2? or if it was possible to get the blackwidow chroma v2 with Exposed metal top mounting.
Guys do the green switches on V1 feel the same on V2? i rly LOVE the clicking noise adn feel the V1 green switches do.. is it the same with V2 aswell? (cause it had a sample key that i saw and it didnt quite feel the same) am i right? or was it just the sample kinda off from all the overuse at the store?

The difference between razer blackwidow chroma v2 and blackwidow tournament chroma v2 is just the number pads? Or the rgb light power is low or highly illuminated
I can't find any info on it ATM, but I would check if that headphone jack is dual-use (hope I'm using the right terminology) - as in headsets like the Razer Krakens or HyperX Clouds that use the 3.5mm jack with three rings would work. Seems very odd to get rid of something that isn't necessarily uncommon in the PC Gaming market.
