NEW Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 Keyboard Review - What's new? 

It's mediocre at best. It gets a ten out of ten for its flashiness and aesthetic appeals, but personally owning Razer products myself you realise that cheap plastics aren't the best materials to use when assembling a gaming grade keyboard. They are simply dreadful to own. If you're a tidy gamer, this doesn't really apply to you, but for us who eat full course meals at our desks, Razer products require a tiring amount of maintenance. There are many other reasons people have for their distastes in Razer, from bad personal experiences to their overratedness and deceptive marketing tactics.

ok dude, you know, if your going to spend 150-200 bux on a keyboard, might as well buy one that looks like a model and has the most beautiful RGB, and do you realize that the Blackwidow X is some what on the higher quality side of gaming keyboard, and plus, gaming grade and luxury grade are two different things, gaming grade features plastic while luxury grade is where all those fancy brushed aluminum that Corsair uses

Corsair's Cherry MX keys have stem wobble, scratchiness, sticking (in their Cherry MX Blue Corsair Strafe) and other problems If you ask me, both companies are overpriced as fuck

Well, that's indeed true, $200 for a keyboard that doesn't even uses doubleshot keycaps is worrying I would go for a Ducky Shine 5 or a IKBC F108 any time, but between these two the Corsair is much less likely to have problems

greetech's switches are pretty good compared to cherry. but the kaih switches were shit. I had those and they were uneven all over. the new ones, on this and the blackwidow x tho are really nice

Your argument is a weak appeal to ridicule. There are studio grade headsets out there that sell for a grand. You know what you can do with a grand? Build a mid-grade PC. So those pair of headphones must be dreadfully overpriced! Yeah, Corsair directs their hardware at people who are appalled by Razer's cheap plastic, while Razer directs their hardware to teenagers living in wealthy suburban homes who are more inclined by looks than actual preformance.

No one said studio grade headsets aren't worth their price, but k95 platinum is. The previous k95 had 18 macro keys and retails for $170, and now k95 platinum removes 12 of those and sells for $200! Corsair just wants more money, we know it, corsair knows it, everyone knows it. Nice profile picture, btw.

The hate mostly comes from the sub par build quality and the non Cherry switches.

Emerdy did they fix the quality? Nope!

Unfortunately, no matter how much money you fork out to Razer, your build quality isn't getting much better.

SoNar just get the CM storm masterkeys pro L, cheaper, better build quality, standard bottom row and uses cherry mx switches so you have the choice..

What I think is, you've done a good job. Like, I don't have anything against k95, but I like having Razer as my main gear

The headphone jack is a 4 pole 3.5 mm headphone jack that accepts mic input and audio output at the same time. You'll probably need a spliter for most headsets.

It's not removed, now it's a 4 pole heaphone+mic jack. If you have and headset with 2 jacks you only need a small adapter

Then where are the actual interesting keyboards for the enthusiast folk? :/ I mean, from brands like Varmilo, Ducky, Leopold, KÛL, CM, Filco etc... We all know these "Razer" switches aren't much more than glorified overpriced and over-marketed switches made for "gamers". Razer keyboards quality control is nothing to write home about and their keyboard are mediocre at best, at least at the price point these tend to sell for. But anyway, I liked the video anyway since I like your content and the overall quality of the presentation. You clearly put some effort with these videos and it shows. :) But please... try to get your hands on some other boards besides the usual gaming oriented brands, it would be nice if you could do that.

Hardware Enthusiast , normaly when you get a corsair keyboard, you get extra WASD keys with a rough texture on it so it can stick more on your fingers. You just need to remove the current WASD keys and replace it with these. Because i don't have the k95, I can not confirm you if these keys are in the box. That's all.

SilicalNZ switches are the main aspect of a keyboard. they are what make it, without them a keyboard wouldn't work

Razer does admittedly have some great gaming mice, far superior to Corsair's. Like +Extreme said, the key switches are the most essential component of a keyboard. The feel of the keyboard should definitely be a greater concern than the physical appearance or flashy RGB technology.

might aswell get flashy RGB and sexy design if your going to spend 150~ bux on it :)

Every corsair keyboard I have had has broken, I had the k95, broke every software update, and if it wasn't software, I had to switch the button on the back of the keyboard to a different bios, if that didnt work, it had to be re-plugged in to a different spot, of which if I used a different keyboard in the same spot would work just fine, and even then, there was no assurance that it would actually work, and then later on, some of the LED's burnt out. All with in a 2 year time period. Same thing with the k65 lux rgb, broke every software update, and if it wasn't software, would have to keep switching the thing on the back of the keyboard over and over again, unplug and replug, and fiddle with it until it stopped sticking, or rather not even registering keys, except that time it was a 1 year time period. I switched it out with this keyboard (Razer blackwidow chroma v2) just recently because of how much trouble I've had with corsair. The only problem I don't have with corsair is their memory and their cases. I haven't had a corsair mouse yet so I cant say if its good or not, but I would assume that anything using corsairs' software would fall into the same category as their keyboards considering how glitchy it is. I don't like razer headphones, or corsair headphones, gaming headphones are trash, I also dislike razer for their mousemats' cause like, who the fuck is going to buy a 50 dollar mouse pad.

I have my blackwidow chroma v2 still, wondering if you still have ur 2013?. I've spilt water and other liquids atleast 20+ times on this, and it's still running like a beast. The lighting still looks amazing aswell. I've also hit it a few times and bashed it in anger while playing csgo (lol) still confused how it's held up after all these years.

BTW you are my 1st source for reviews, buying keyboards and mouses. How I first found you? Well, I'm very soon having a birthday and so I wanted a new pc, and some gear for it. Of course, I cannot just buy a keyboard, mouse or anything just of the design and looks. EVERY site, whenever it's corsair or razer will say their product is good. I needed info! When I searched ALOT of review and internetic stuff, I found your channel. And from than to on, you're my No. 1 trusted source for stuff like that. Without you, I would'nt know what to buy and ended up in a (sorry) shitty situation.
