Perfect timing. I just pulled my 2019 Leprechan 260D out of storage and on trying to charge up the house batteries I got rotten eggs also. One of the batteries started to get hot and fluid had bubbled out of it and flowed all over the battery. I'll be heading out for new batteries also as soon as thes video is over. I've seen other RVers videos where they pull the house batteries out when putting the RV's up for the winter if there is no power available in storage for a trickle charger. Your thoughts?

Glad we were able to provide the video in a timely matter. As to pulling the batteries, I most likely will not just beacause my storage spot is near my office and I will go and check on the RV every month and start the generator. Might also start the van as well just to "excercise" the internals. I guess if you have the space at home and the chargers, go for it. It certainly wouldn't hurt. Thanks for the comment.

Surprised you didn’t get AGMs. Lower maintenance and they last longer

Hi, I have 2022 Leprechaun, but it does not seem to have any connection between the house battery and the chassis battery. Did you try to make a connection so the house battery is charged by the motor; and also allow the house battery to jump the cassis battery if it is low or dead?

I have not made any modifications to the batteries at this point. I will need to research this and get back to you.

I have the exact same make and model and I'm planning to do the converter you have set up. I noticed, you have a third wire coming into the battery house and I only have two (Pos and Neg). What is your third line and is it necessary to run a dual parallel battery and the converter?

Thanks for the question. I do not know what the thrird line goes to. My RV is still in storage so I cannot check at the moment. I will look into this and get back to you.

Any chance you have time to look at this?

@@NathanChelseaDay Funny, I was just thinking about this. I will have my RV back home this weekend and plan on looking at it. Stand by a little longer and I will let you know what I find. Thanks.

Hope you’ve been enjoying your summer! Did you ever have time to look at that third wire? Thanks!

Nathan, My deepest apologies for the time I have squandered on this....OK so I went down a rabbit trail that had nothing to do with your question and that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it. So in the video at time stamp 15:25 you will see all my cables connected. Lets first talk about the parallel set up. It is most important to run two batteries parallel so you keep the voltage at 12V and not 24V. If you wired in series you get 24V. The cables creating the parallel connection are on the top of the screen, negative to negative and positive to positive. I have now explained the four connections from the parallel connection. I will now explain the three remaining cables on the bottom of the screen. There are two positive cables and one negative cable. One of the positive wires goes to the fuse box and the other goes to the generator. I am not 100% sure but I am fairly certain that the negative goes to the main switch to the RV and to the frame for a ground. Now my rabbit trail was based on a question I was asked about the battery in the engine compartment and whether or not it is charged when the generator is running. I have come to find out that the battery in the engine compartment is completely separate from the RV. This was a surprise to me to say the least. I also came to find out that there is a 4th battery mounted under the RV and bolted to the frame rails that acts as a backup to the battery in the engine compartment. I found this battery while I was researching your question. I did not want to answer until I understood what was going on. So you may or may not know that there is a 4th battery under the RV that must be maintained and looked after. So I hope I answered your questions.....
