I watched someone open the Danner SL and it does, in fact, come with both versions of Seraph Sanctuary. The in-progress version is given the Double Feature treatment to make it look more like a sketch.

The thing that's absolutely hilarious with the wrong artwork Seraph Sanctuary is that the bonus card in this secret lair is actually an extra Seraph Sanctuary in black in white and this one DOES have the correct art with the roof and all.

They pre-print some Secret Lairs, and this is one of the ones they've pre-printed, I believe. They'll do print to demand to be able to sell more when the pre-printed stocks run out, but they already have some ready.

It's extremely weird to me that they plan to make the fixed Seraph Sanctuary a bonus card in a future secret lair and not just mail them to the people who bought the secret lair it was supposed to be in. Like sure, it'll cost them more to do it that way, but they're the ones who made the mistake and it's freaking cardboard.

Agreed. To me, it’s super scammy to market it as “we’ll give it to you for free in an additional secret lair” when that means you still have to purchase a whole separate secret lair. Like you said, they *easily* could’ve just sent a follow up package to everyone who bought one with a corrected card. But nope, Hasbro/WotC need to make that dope money

I can confirm. I ordered this secret lair on Friday, it arrives at the house on Monday and it bonus card was the fixed land art. Bought for my wife and she was super happy about it so its a win to me!

@@bobjoe2955 Unfortunately nothing is actually illegal about it. The customer is still getting a card that is functionally the same; misprints happen all the time (look at that one Dominus from the Compleat bundles that had a different activation cost). Legal: yes. A little bit scummy: also yes.

Stoneforge sold me on it. It's played in multiple formats, it's the value of the nonfoil pack on its own, and it's definitely Guay. Nova also looks like the style we know from back in the good old days. Serra and Muddle look goofy. I get that the Rebecca 'Don't Mess With Me ' Guay joke is a thing but it arguably doesn't belong on two cards.

You missed one thing: Secret lairs tend to have one heavy hitter card that has value. then after they charge you and ship the Secret Lair they often reprint that same card to oblivion and decimate the price. I see the Grand Abolisher as a trap. If they reprint that in Commander Masters at rare it will be a sub-$10 card.

Also he kind of mentioned it, but all of the "only printed once" foils are expensive because of just that, they have only one printing. The second printings NEVER hold anywhere near the value and are usually worth close to nothing. Old foils are only expensive because they are old. I find the totals with foil prices from that era super misleading.

note on the rebecca guay and the one with akroma the extra card is a sketch version of selfless savior and and cleansing nova. the cheapest card of the 4. I would lower the grade from B to B-. personally. I hope this helps people who are thinking of ordering those two. I also go tthese within 5 days of ordering it so that is a plus for at the very least those to, quite possibly the rest.

I've been waiting for this video since the superdrop was announced. For me, Selfless Savior is my entire reason to buy that artist series drop. As a doxie owner, I cried seeing that scrappy lil guy protect his loved ones like my lil guy does. The artist also owned a doxie that he didnt get to say goodbye to and this is one of the few times that I'm like screw the money value of the card, this little pup needs a home with me

Also... when it comes to the artists series, the artist is given the choice of the cards they want to do (within reason) I'm pretty sure this is so they are doing a artist series with 4 cards like mana crypt and force of will, which would tank the value of those cards and also bring the value of those lair more than the appraisal of about 2-3x what you are paying. Usually they just get 1-2 premier cards and 2 non-essential niche cards. But this does tend to matter, because sometimes the bonus cards will have decent value, like Johannes Voss's Carpet of flowers now being around 80$ 😆

You should bring up the bundles... the bundles do give a % off the bundle. The MOM bundle is 128.99 for instance which saves you 21$ off all 3 mom lairs (about 43$ each lair) You also have buy the entire drop saving 76$ or just the foil and non-foil drops saving either 50$ or 26$. Which is a better value if you want some savings, and I am glad Wizards brought this back. You also get free shipping if you spent over 100$.

I really like the Randy Vargas arts. Akroma is one of my pets cards because of the morph/flicker and I love the selfless saviour. The grand abolisher is great for value but I am still not getting this. I've never ordered SL to canada but I imagine they'll ding me for shipping and duties. I believe that it will cost me around $90 CAD when the cards I'm most excited for are worth $2. Hope to find the singles at some point

I was really excited to build Jon Irenicus when he first came out, but I feel like it's difficult to build him in a way that isn't super mean. You want to play cards that make you opponents sacrifice all their creatures every turn, and if you don't play those mean cards then you're wide open to attack from non-goaded creatures.

You can build a very strange hug-like deck with Jon Irenicus. All it takes is a protected Silent Arbiter, a Propaganda and a Koskun Falls to cut down how open you are.

8:09 Utvara Hellkite is also known for one thing, Having a token that costs more than $5 for 2 out of three printings at the time of the video's release. The cheapest one is in the C17 Urdragon Deck. As for other cards from this super drop, I personally picked up the Rebecca Guay for Stoneforge and Alayna Danner for supporting the artist that had a stupid oversight by WotC forgetting to check the "Update Art" button. I most likely pick up a copy of the Higure in non foil for my Ninja deck.

While you are correct about Llawan that there are very few people that play her, she's the commander of one of my signature decks. I was super happy to just go on TCG Player and finally get a foil copy for $2. The new art looks great and I'll be color bouncing my way to the table with Llawan soon.

To me a secret lair needs to have cards I am going to want to use and some kind of value that will make it worth to by the SL and not just the cards individually. The only one of these I think I will get will be the one MOM Vol 2(?) with the World Tree, Olivia and Walking Ballista. Walking Ballista can be a win con with my Heliod deck and I have a deck that can use world tree and I like Olive. QB might be useful and worth keeping but that blue card that comes with it is going in my trade binder.
