Thank you Kate, for showing us these new additions. I do appreciate that it's kinda giving us all a taste of Pyro in Stanton without having to use a Jump Point!! LoL
I really enjoy your chill videos, sometimes I just watch them to help me relax after a stressful day. Exploration gameplay is starting to form up, for food and more types of gameplay will be added to these locations over time. Even able to sleep at some of these locations.
The meme about taking a long time to get to the MSR pilots seat is an old wives tale. It takes far longer to do the same in a 400i and it even takes a second longer in the Connie because of the stupidly slow elevator.
If I had to take an educated guess, these civilian outposts will probably have mission givers at them eventually. Along with other contract stuff of course, like NPC Delivery or Pickup more than likely once that gets put in. They did talk about adding additional non-combat missions at remote outposts scattered around star systems a few years back.
Thanks for doing the exploration I never find the time to do myself, and sharing it. I enjoy your story driven narrative, and I love the soundtracks you are using!
I want to take over such an outpost, replace all the NPCs with Skunks and then wait for the first player come along and wonder why the NPCs are so responsive and doing stuff (like, walking around and doing emotes, not attacking ^^)
I love the new Atmo entry effects , the fire looked awesome .. a song ran through my head as I watched .." Bagh Da tuHmoh ... fire streaks the heavens. ChojaH Duh rHo ... battle has begun."
This is sooo cool to watch. Scenery is sooo great to look at on these videos. My comp still not properly built to handle the game well. That platform reminds me of a scene in the movie "Water World" I think thats what its called. (Hells bells you commented it just a min after posting this message lol)
Cutters Rig totally need some Vendors, perhaps a commodity shop to sell Medical Supplies, Processed Food and Distilled Spirits. Edit: Makers Point actually has two Commodity Shops, atleast 2 patches ago.
Dusters as a faction are an "outlaw" faction, but they're the original settlers of the Stanton system. Before the jump points were publicly discovered, small time explorers had found them and built settlements in Stanton, and this continued after formal discovery but before the corporate sale. The Javelin wreck on Daymar is from an incident with the UEE trying to evict these "squatters". Dusters best faction
I'm not saying it's Aliens. But it's aliens. Hide yo kids, hide yo ship, & protect yo face because these facehuggers are out here messing up everythang!
Salvage is a dangerous line of work. You're laden down with valuable materials and possibly coming across wreckage from pirates who don't necessarily want to lose their booty.
I mean, one of them (probably) crashed because of a fire in the starengine demo, so maybe they are just a pain in the ass in terms of technical problems I could imagine such a big ship with many moving parts and industrial machinery is really hard to maintain, especially when this behemoth is flying in atmosphere. Can‘t wait for engineering gameplay to see if the reclaimer breaks down every 5 seconds. If so aegis engineering really isn’t as good as it’s advertised.
I do think both increasing player ttk and decreasing npc ttk may be a bit much do want the npc to still be a bit of a threat. But the new settlements/outposts are interesting I do wonder like what kinda missions or reasons they will give to visit them other then them just existing.
yeah i was a fan of the tougher npcs we saw in Pyro - they took a lot to take down so it seemed like the armor was actually doing something and if you got caught needing to reload you had a tough situation :D I dont think the low TTK of npcs is intended though
@@Citizen_Kate The low TTK for NPCs seems right for unarmored NPCs (Ones wearing just clothing) and it just needs to be scaled up based on the armor they're wearing, though in the future when ship armor is implemented where certain size ship weapons become less effective against certain armor classes, it would be neat to have a similar system for FPS combat rather than armor provide a flat damage reduction as it does now.
These new settlements look awesome and even they don't have a gameplay function yet will 100% still be enough to tempt me back to spend some time exploring Hurston (something I haven't done in a long, long while)
Thanks for the shoutout kate, wish I could share the spreadsheet here for others to use but it's on kates discord and I've also posted it as a reply on recent patchnotes.
I am surprised that you never saw any trade terminals as I keep seeing them in other videos. I have seen them buying ore and selling RMC amongst other things so it does look as if the settlements are supposed to be part of the economy a well as mission locations. It will be nice to be able to buy & sell at more locations and have more chance of finding a place that is fully stocked with valuable goods or paying a premium for them. Loving the look of the new locations regardless.
You can say whatever you want about Star Citizen, but one thing you can't deny is that it's not a masterpiece of a work of art. 18:11 reminds me of that Spongebob episode where Patrick runs into the treedome without a helmet, gets like 5 steps in, collapses in a heavy sweat with uncontrollable coughing lmao
that platform has got to be the coolest of the new settlements, the lag on approach is most likely the game generating the shaders for all the new assets as you load them in
Best vid thus far! I felt like I was watching a George Lucas production, flying into a new planet we had just discovered. FANTASTIC!! Dang our verse is beautiful!!
Yeah we need full costumes that represent ranking like captain, first officer, second officer etc. That would be awesome! And new mining suits too that work outside other than the big fat one spread the word😂
haha wait i missed it - where di that happen? :D I saw something like that in Lorville yesterday (NPC shooting straight up in the sky) but didnt even realize it has happened again :D
ah ha! i get to have a gotcha moment :D We didnt kill her (hence no crimestats) the npcs there just seem to die at random someitmes - we found a few like it on that little excursion :D
Like Cyrus I think, they're really cool, but why, what do they do here, where do they sleep, how do the ones on MT in almost no clothes not freeze etc etc heh. Would be cool to have em a bit more fleshed out so they make more sense and have mechanics, NPCs that give missions, being able to talk to the barkeep about a bounty or missing person etc, yeah I know that's Mos Isely lol. Sadly I think their purpose for now is mostly just backdrop for missions to ventilate 1 or all of them, (almost gotten ventilated myself a couple times by players making the shreadsheet) at least the duster ones, I don't think civilian ones have combat missions, might have box delivery missions like the civlian ones in pyro did.
Hi Lucas :) that is the 'stoneface' version of the FS9 - not sure if it is available now but it was a giveaway by CIG around the time the Corsair was released - its possible it is sold on the RSI site or the subscriber store but i do not know for sure
Actually Cutter's Rig has 3 places nearby, weeping cove is the name of the little tower near the ocean with a bar, the farm doesn't seem to have a name yet or it's not exposed, and there is a big com tower like structure top of the mountain on the island, didn't see anything of interest there.
Once your on hurston the entire atmosphere is breathable so you could have taken off your helmet. F1 is a good way to determine the composition of the atmosphere. ONLY HURSTON has dem clouds.
Arnt these settlements the ones that existed before the corps came and just wiped them all out before they starting building. The people un them now could be survivors that have reclaim them and now that the people live in the corps cities they are protected from being massacre by the corps due to bad press.
Flight mechanics in star citizen are messed up Ships can do what they want regardless of gravity , atmospheric drag , thruster size , ships slow when thrusters are not applied as if there is resistance nothing space and in atmosphere , little energy consequence for highly energy intensive maneuvers , no g force effect on pilots or crew
I agree, though I think it's also valid that even in the far future some people might live a very basic existance depending on means etc, though it is weird that these exist minutes from basically giant metropolises. Especially weird that the ones on microtech deep in a giant forest use 0 wood for construction just ship wreck parts heh.
