I only just played the king knight game a couple weeks ago. Loved it. Right up there with the original and specter knight. This one looks like fun too.

ive always wondered what is the point of shortcuts in a roguelike? the runs are ment to be quick as it it and if you skip floors your skipping out on powerups so isnt it a bad thing to skip those early easy levels?

It's what referred to ad an intuitive tutorial. It seems inspired by megaman which is famous for its intuive tutorials. It Doesn't I sult the gamers intelligence by telling what buttons to press and at when im every scenario but rather wants you to learn naturally

Having watched this and a bunch of other videos from other creators... honestly, most of the items seem pretty irrelevant. Very few add much to gameplay or significantly improve Shovel Knight's capabilities (aside from the health expansions, I suppose), or even offer alternative solutions to challenges. The secondary weapons are also largely pretty mediocre for almost every challenge you face, compared to just whacking things with the shovel. The game could be entirely without 90% of the relics and it wouldn't feel notably different. Which isn't to say it's not a good game - Shovel Knight as a franchise has a consistently very high tier of quality and polish, and they're fun games all around. It just feels weird to have the tacked on roguelite/metaprogression stuff that so obviously doesn't matter very much. And hey, maybe later on it changes and the good relics are just hidden behind a dozen unimpressive ones you have to get first. Will have to see!

I feel like the bossfights look fun and the puzzleare well put together but the gameplay loop when digging just doesnt seem like much more than a more intutive mobile game

@@Retromation If I took off my glasses, and wasn´t paying much attention... the colour scheme isn´t that different. :D Definitely could see making that mistake on my phone when looking for something to listen to while in bed. Just a funny little thing.
