whats stopping you from just collecting a bunch of one single block blindly? you can just tunnel with iron picks and get a ton of cobble. and if you do it at the right y level, you'll get iron and coal along the way so u can make more iron picks. it is early game; its just a bit more time consuming to gather resources early game. but thats how it is for any farm. the main thing is that it doesn't require a stupid amount of iron for things like hoppers or a ton of blocks that can only be gotten in the end or nether.
I havent seen any other of your videos but I want to say that I respect your willingness to accept that you are human and can make mistakes and that youre smart enough to want to correct them. Great video!
Everyone know that killing the dragon in the first 30 minutes of playing a new survival world and using endstone as a main construction material for farm is just the start of the game !
there's always something to learn about TMC, I didn't know that raid participants don't count towards the mobcap. this is definitely going to be a new meta, especially for worlds without an xp cooldown. great farm!
Collaboration is one of if not the biggest part of TMC and this is yet another example of that being true. Glad I could contribute even if just a little and I hope it happens some more 😉
I couldn't agree MORE that collaboration is the KEY to redstone. Its funny how it works too how you can translate that collaborative effort between builds, for example: One of my buddies was helping me with an ice farm design, and in the process came up with a much better detection/ block removal method than I could've hoped to come up with on my own, but it ended up not working very well for the ice farm due to the randomness of ice. However, the VERY SAME redstone was able to be copied over for better basalt AND stone generators that generate piston push limit every cycle, then piston snaked to a blast chamber that used the VERY SAME redstone AGAIN. That whole farm wouldn't have been possible if I NEVER asked for help in a group of my friends. Moral of the story: 2 people together can do more than 2 people separately :)
it's funny because in computational redstone a lot of people just work independently or in small collabs on what interests them. at least that's how it was in 2014
Since the xp orb pick up is limited you can only get the best xp by max xp particles, so you only can achieve the farm with a furnace and a glitch that stored information (by a bug) to always get the particle. I think some one did it.
So awesome, you seem like a great person and an amazing friend. This farm is amazing!! Especially practical because (correct me if I'm wrong), but generally outposts will spawn near sea level because they generally occur in plains, so most of the time they would be around y 70 (I don't know the new y bounds since the caves and cliffs)
@Midievalman tbh I tend to dislike then even if they give credits because even though they gave credits they still took away views from the original video but tbh I haven't watched his videos
@@aerialz7175 No, they didn't "take" any views. They make a different kind of tutorial. Always with a different approach from the original designer's. But I agree with u in one thing, if you don't like it, don't watch it ;)
I think what would make this farm extremely viable as the main exp source for most players would be an easy build in my opinion. If someone came up with an easy way to lavacast and remove a lot of the manual labour of the farm i feel like this could have great potential. i think this is a great farm but would need to simplify the build effort wise to get a lot of people to use it.
Yeah we are working on a tutorial and trying to optimize the build time as much as possible, lava casting will be part of it. I think we found a really nice work flow that will make it not tooooo bad. Of course it will take some block placing...
@@NicoisLOST ofc. I’ve just seen a lot of minimum work enderman farms that are hard to rival but I trust in your plan and idea I find this idea awesome and would make xp grinding simple and easy and in the overworld. 🙏building this in my next server
@@KM____________ I was just saying with how he said the main xp grinder being enderman farms in most servers and I was just thinking that making the build simpler and easy for new players it could be the new best xp farm yk especially if you’re trying to enchant before the end
Heyy awesome content! I was wondering if a build video for the smaller iron farm would still come? Or maybe just a world download or something? Id love to build the one layer one. Keep up the great work!
Not really, mobs can only spawn in a 128 block radius sphere around the player. Even so, given the fact that this farm bypasses the mobcap, spawn proofing shouldn't be much of a concern. It's true that mob spawning is denser the lower the farm is but in this case, the elevation depends on the pillager outpost.
I know yku have a video that goes into the details of spawn space around the outposts but do yku have a video on the platform designs. I would like to see how many blocks you guys used for each platform and how the villager set up was done to effectively make the pillagers pathfind to the elevators
Max rate absorption varies to what xp you're absorbing. there's no max rate based on xp you're absorbing, but based on xp orbs. And there are different type of orbs, ech gives diferent xp. The more xp you can generate in one event, the bigger xp orb will be, and therefore, the higher xp limit. So technically it can give you even bigger xp gain. the point is is that physically possible to do, which might be more complicated. but you always can multiply the ammount, and check again.
not 100% correct, since there is a biggest orb of xp. Though making a farm out of it would just be outrageous, since the only way to generate the largest possible xp orb is with furnaces that have smelted a huge amount of items and then the player manually takes a smelted item out. With that in mind, you cant exactly make a sustainable farm from this concept giving a max sustainable xp absorption rate from enemies with the largest amount of large xp orbs and the smallest amount of small xp orbs. I think technically blaze is optimal.
This is a great farm. I think its interesting that they don’t affect the mob cap, but I still think the guardian farm by ianxofour is better since it gives the same xp but is just easier to build.
On an SMP after, the bait villagers, down between the layers had been shot by pillagers, the rates of the farm dropped severely after the villagers had been replaced by new villagers. Any ideas why or how to fix that? Platforms used to be crawling with pillagers
Would this grinder work even with an overworld mob switch active? 🤔 That would be pretty neat, having an XP grinder in the overworld you can still use without first disabling your mob switch.
Unfortunately it doesn't. While the illagers get added to the raid and _then_ don't count to the mobcap anymore, they don't even spawn in the first place if the mobcap is already reached due to the mobswitch.
@@isthatbraised ik but u want the pillagers to spawn on the platform, not the surrounding area. What im asking is: Does the entire platform cover the area in which pillagers can spawn or should i spawn proof the surrounding area so the pillagers dont spawn elsewhere?
This is pretty nice as an early game xp. farm. I think it's hard to beat a guardian farm since. Their xo orbs are more valuable this they have a higher xp per hour cap. But this would be much easier to build then a guardian farm so. I like it. And it's a raid farm at the same time
I already knew Outpost had crazy spawn rate... but oh my god i was not ever expecting this many pillager. I did try a similar design of my own in the past but it was single platform and didn't really know what i was doing so my farm's speed was somewhat limited.
The key is to have a raid ongoing. That frees up the no cap immediately, allowing unlimited spawns. Then you just build as many spawning spaces as you want to achieve the desired rates.
If theres a limit to how many xp orbs you can absorb per second theoretically like in cubic meters vid about xp will be there a farm that can produce god orbs other than furnaces? If you can manipulate the game like the ender dragon farm or like scicraft would it be possible to create a god orb farm or its not possible yet and we just have to wait on future updates and if we can manipulate the drops of mobs for it to be the best possible drops is it possible for it to apply to xp orbs aswell? But it wont matter for me cause im on bedrock edition and i guess basically duplicating hundreds of zombie pigmen per second is the way to go. But im just curious how far can we push minecraft to its limits?
The WDL is on the discord server -- The Max version is Patreon only, but you can easily make it from the survival one I posted on discord if you want to and don't want to be a patreon.
@@NicoisLOST how do you expand the smaller version? Whenever i try to expand it the pillagers dont aggro on the villager or other mobs spawn in lower layers of the farm, i dont expand it too far past the discord version (5 blocks out on each platform and 3 more layers)
@@spirlv8486 make sure the spawning spaces you are adding are completely within the pillager putpost bounding box, only pillagers are able to naturally spawn within that space. minihud will show the outline with the structure rendering turned on
2 questions: 1) does it drops any emeralds (can't see any in the downloaded farm) 2) Is there any tutorial? Tkx in advance! One thing is sure, there is a lot of xp !!
If the farm is too fast for the player to pick up the xp, can you just split the flow of mobs to multiple different places so a) 2 players can grind at the same time, b) a stone farm can use a skull catalyst to store the xp, or c) just have an auto kill section for purely the mob drops?
