Very exciting as I have started stitching on one of my French General linen panels using some gorgeous variegated crewel wool from the lovely Chris and Teresa from Nome Schoolhouse.
I feel very lucky to have the chance to try out their new variegated Romney crewel wool and lush off white Lincoln wool.
Here’s a link to Nome Schoolhouse: nomeschoolhouse.com
Here’s a link to Chris and Teresa’s RU-vid channel ‪@EweTube‬
This panel is for my vintage burgundy bonheur slow stitch quilt project which I started as part of Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery Treasure Hunt project. #Roxysjournalofstitchery
This slow stitch quilt is on the base of a blanket that travelled out with Betty from Budapest after the war.
I hope you enjoy seeing these variegated crewel or embroidery wools in action as well as the French general panel.
Pull up your own slow stitch or craft project and enjoy some time stitching with me.
A great slow stitching for beginners project.
Cheers,
Christine

Thank you for introducing those lovely products. It is always so nice to learn about the manufacturers, their attitudes, products, and to just learn more about our beloved yarns. I enjoy to watch you stitching and to listen to you while I am mending my jeans (I always wondered, why people buy them torn, I just need to wear them a while 😅). And yes, the year is rushing bye, it seems speedier every single year. Those yarns are very beautiful, also your stitching. I always find the sound so comforting, when... No way, you just said so this very moment 😯😅😂, while I started to typ this, ... yes, when the needle and the yarns goes through. So, helps nothing: my dog needs a walk, but the moment I am back, I continue this video. Still some time before my shift. Have a lovely day. ❤

Yes, I never understood the buying new torn jeans thing! The sound of stitching is very soothing to me probably because that’s when I feel my most relaxed. Cheers, Christine

How wonderful you were chosen for this. Lovely wool colors. Fun that the felting needle thing went full circle. I really like that French General panel. Of course, as usual, I’m late to the party for finding it. Of course, we are united by our love of variegated thread!

It’s really lovely to make connections with small scale producers and creators - just love learning about their stories and what fun to get to try a sample product before it is even available 🤗

Christine, that yarn is so vibrant it's like jewels, almost sparkling. And, that's on my phone, I can't imagine what it looks like in person. It's definitely going to look good on your project! If you decide to dye some of that white Lincoln, could you do a video for it? If it's too much, I understand! You're probably the busiest bee I know. Hope all is going well with you and yours! TFS 😊

Wools look lovely. We have a local who dies and spins her own sheep. She uses vegetables for dying quite lovely yarns. Never thought of using her thinner yarn for stitching think I might need to buy just one or two of these and seeing how they go. Lovely pice. You started today. Ahh nothing like splitting the old stitch.

Thank you Christine for your video and for reminding me I have this panel in a drawer, yeh. I may not have any other stash but I have this. If it helps you you can stitch extra fabric around your piece to help hold it in you frame, I often do that when my frame is bigger than my working piece. It is also easier to slide the clips off towards the end of your frame, saves them from breaking or getting loose. Apologies if you already know this. Those wools look lovely, I must have a look to see if there is anything like this near me. I bet if you pull them apart a bit you could needle felt your ort bits.

The wool looks so lovely and soft Christine. Those unravellinga lol. I now have a method of putting the wools around my feet and rolling them up into a ball for ease of use and less tangles at the end. 😂

Your heater sounds like a waterfall to me. 😊 That panel will be lovely with those rich colors. I smiled when you said you googled how far away they are from me. Cross country for sure but I always wanted to see that part of the country - the wild wild West! 😂

Haven’t heard of any such places in Canada, at least not Saskatchewan.

Hi Candice - maybe try searching for wool mill and mill ends as some mills offer small amounts of wool which is perfect for our stitching as we don’t need big amounts like knitters. Cheers, Christine
