I noticed how UI Goku's portrait on his health bar shows him with his full outfit undamaged. Finally we can play as UI Goku in a game without the outfit already pre-damaged.
@@supersaiyanfox9190 Tbh I'm not sure since he only had 1 transformation counter, so either he's his own character or else you can't go back to Base when you're in UI Sign
@@supersaiyanfox9190wouldn't say so, the whole fight ui goku only had 1 transformation stock, which definitely means it isn't base form goku and definitely means its mui instead, if it was 2 transformation stocks then it'd be base and mui but thats not the case
@@oinkmentI still think you can go ui in base though from the simple fact that i remember when the game was first getting played one person playing goku actually almost went ui. You could see the aura and everything it’s just vegeta hit him out of it
@@BooperXI on the contrary, ultimate gohan was his unique character and only had his goku inspired gi because it's the only one he used in that form. if he was a transformation he would have had the purple gi as well when transforming, but he didn't
and since goku ui it's only seen wearing a torn gi (in the anime at least, which is what the game is based on) it doesn't make sense to have him in a full gi otherwise
Yeah it'd be ass if online everyone chose the same character, they can't just use that as an excuse not to balance the game somewhat, yeah there can be weaker players but is it that hard to make krillin hardly worse than blue gogeta
Especially with SUCH a big roaster. By the end, we are gonna have close to 200 characters!!! So, a bunch of characters have to be very similar to make it easier for the developers. So i just hope that all characters are fun to play and relative similar in strenght
I feel like even esports aren't going to be too bad for Sparking, given the way ranked battles force you to manage DP points for team building. Could lead to some interesting meta.
They're doing a system were the most busted character cost more to choose than the weak characters when it comes to ranked so there is a little balanced
5:35 Goku does the dodge into kick against Jiren in their last fight in the anime 6:05 That shot of Gokus back is from the two episode special of his and Jiren’s first fight, when they’re spinning around each other This team’s love for Dragon Ball is palpable, I love it
@@animenostalgia5451 sadly I never got to experience it, never had a wii or any console from 2003-2020, been stuck on pc mostly. In fact, I got my first console a PS5, last year.
Plus his ssj rose model ironically has the better ssj blue hair model since it’s more accurate to the anime than goku’s blue hair model is, since he has that extra bang that goku has whenever he goes to blue baring the broly movie removing it from his design sheet.
I didn't see you comment, but it did change to the Sign Goku's PoV. He only had 1 transformation stock, confirming that Sign into Mastered is in fact its own character.
Bruh I'm the only one who noticed the gamer tags at the top of the health bars and i can understand why they just say player and not actual names so it was a online fight
honestly what a time to be alive for all of us who grew up with the dragon ball z games growing up and new fans alike. I haven’t felt this much collective excitement in a while from a game.
Can't wait to be disappointed This is more of a xenoverse than a tenkaichi The hit boxes are huge so it often looks like you hurt your opponent by hitting the air next to him, lot of particules clouding how readable the action should be and all the shit appearing on the screen every time you press a button pretty much I can tell already it still won't be as good as bt3
you can see that this just a replay at the bottom of the screen if you pause just as the hud appears. So there wouldn't be a skill command list on a replay.
there is a bp system so if someones using gogeta blue, they probably spend like 8/10 points and their team is severly limited, if they allocate points correctly mr satan, tien, yajirobe, scouter vegeta, early goku will be fighting gogeta blue and maybe like first form freeza to balance it out.
The only time balancing matters is in competitive ranked modes. In casual no one is going to pick the best character in the game over and over and over again. Their going to play whats fun to them. So I wouldn't worry to much about balance unless they add a ranked mode. And I'm sure they will end up tweaking damage numbers from some moves if they are out of control or if a character as like some weird buggy infinite combo that takes no skill to pull off.
They already said that there was a ranked mode but they also said that it was balanced that each person had a team cost and that some characters would be higher costing than others
I don't know about that. Winning is fun. And people like winning and having fun. And using a broken character kills two birds with one stone. Just look at Mario Kart.
@@Magnet_Chaoswinning is fun but people specifically love the tenkaichi series because it lets you play almost ANY dragon ball character. There definitely will be people who only play the best of the best because they are the best but the vast majority is just gonna play there favorite characters or whoever they decided that day.
LMAO What nonsense. People want to win. It's not fun getting your ass beat constantly online. Shut up. The online will be dead after a while once people figure out who the top characters and cheese characters are.
The one thing that I feel shouldn't apply in a ranked match is when weaker characters cannot stagger stronger ones. It's cool when playing with friends or AI, but having that be a thing could completely axe all the canonically weaker characters. Other than that what can balance it is how many characters you get to choose based on power, like that one mode in BT3. So maybe if you pick Gogeta you only have space for like a Mr. Satan, but if you pick weaker characters you can fill up to a 5 character team.
Unclear if this was a cpu vs cpu battle. The way it looks seems like another online battle since "player 3" and "player 1", and reason it could say player 3 is maybe they accidentally unplugged the 2nd player controller and third controller didnt register as 2nd player which commonly happens
The lack of balance is part of the Tenkaichi series' charm. It's a dragon ball game first and a fighting game second. It doesn't make sense to complain that the game is unbalanced because you couldn't defeat Super Broly as Videl. If that's what you're looking for, play DBFZ. I fear that trying to balance out the roster of this game will strip it of everything that makes it the beloved DBZ simulator it is.
I noticed that both goku rose and UI sign Goku had only one transformation stock in this video. For Goku black I think it's for him to de transform back into base. As for UI sign, I actually think it's for him to transform into MUI. Also I like that the profile picture shows him in full clothings not battle damaged, I really do think he'll be his own character separate from dbs goku, with the mui as a transformation
@@leirbag1595 exactly 😂 it seems they already cut back on the transformations with having ssb kaioken and even blue evolution to be special moves within the game instead of separate transformations/characters
Globku... Rose vs UI Goku was a pvp match, not a pve match. You can tell from the names, Player 01 and Player 02. Those names were also showcased during the first online gameplay reveal.
Both Black and UI Goku has one more transformation available as per the icon visible under the health. Like Black is fusing with Zamasu and UI can go MUI.
DP would be a good solution. If, for instance, the most powerful character gets like a 9 out of 10 DP possible, someone with a team with 3 or 4 mid characters would have s good chance.
I think UI SIgn has one more transformation to UI mastered. If I remember correctly the beginners guide said that the little Icon next to the skill counter is the transformation icon and displays the amount of transformations for the characters.
When they say “we are balancing the characters according to the anime” they just mean their stats. That doesn’t mean they can’t balance all these other erroneous variables in combat. You’re taking the statement “we aren’t balancing the characters” too generally I think. BP, ki, blast stocks, they all will contribute to how they’ll balance the characters and teams. They just mean Gogetas stats will always be higher than Hercule’s. They said they’re finding other ways to balance the system, so you’re not just gonna see the same characters every match. On top of the BP system requiring you needing weaker characters to have a full team, they’ll be balancing these other attributes. I’m sure we’ll have team variety.
BT3 on the Wii had online. It wasn't good, but it was there. And yeah, based on the one match I played, most people are going to play the strongest characters, but that's part of the fun. If there is a ranked mode, it'll probably be DP Battles, so you'll have to pick a balanced team. And they've already confirmed that DP Battles are in the game, so... yeah
The panel was a bit disappointing, but i went into it expecting nothing so the Goku Black Rosé VS Goku UISign fight hyped me up. With the game still a few month off, i'm expecting more character reveals coming soon, maybe something big at Gamescom next month? Or just more trailers on their youtube channel.
To be fair in terms of online balance, each character has a number next to them that’s higher based on how broken they are to limit people from running fully broken teams, just like in Tenkaichi 3. For example DBS Broly costs 8 points out of 10
Being able to win as mr. satan reminds me of a time where a kid in school thought he was hot shit in tenkaichi 3, so i beat his kid buu with mr. satan...
2 things I think are of note, it is pretty much confirmed that UI sign and UI are not part of Goku (Super). When Goku's Skill Count raises to 2, his transformation count stays at 1. Meaning he cannot go back to base and only has UI as an available transformation, compared to Goku Black who is already at his max transformation and has a transformation count meaning he can go back to base. Second thing, the move he did against Rosé at the end *may* not be the ultimate, due to it lacking the little visual flair of the screen being shadowed except for the eyes that is present in other ultimates from this game. This might be a stretch however.
@@righteousone5119That could be the case, I’m assuming both MUI and UI is for the character “Goku (Super)” since it says on the website and when he’s revealed on the character trailer that the character name is “Goku (Super)” and the transformation name is Ultra Instinct so it’d be confusing to have two characters named “Goku (Super)”, a lot of characters can’t transform from certain transformations, for example you can go to super saiyan blue from base but you can’t go into super saiyan or super saiyan god from blue so maybe you can go from base to UI or MUI but base is the only transformation available from those two forms
There are some screen shots of Goku in a sorta UI pose with even UI’s aura around him in base, I believe it even had the normal goku super icon so super goku might have it as a skill similar to the Kaioken he has in blue or evolution that vegeta has
looking at ui's character icon, either his default costume is the full gi, and you pick the blue undershirt as another costume, or he's part of dbs goku. I think we'll honestly just have to wait and see.
I think since this being the first of its kind with the new gen for 3d anime fighter for dragon ball, I can live with the characters being unbalanced. Obviously once we have the game and play it we can know what areas need fixing so that when/if they drop the sequel it will play better and be more competitive.
Maybe make it comp only changes, cause casual players and semi non casuals are NOT gonna wanna study every weeks patch notes just to understand why their favorite character feels awful suddenly
Unrelated but I never would've imagined Glob to be an Atrioc-frog (I'm only speculating). Guess even he isn't susceptible to the glizzy gobbler coffee cow eggplant elephant.
Satan doesn't need to be, joke characters can exist. But there should be some way for multiplayer to at least have power tiers to play in, so you're not just fighting Gogeta Blue for every single fight. BT3 online was literally just Gogeta ssj4.
I'm sorry this is sucha bad take. Yeah let's make a game with characters that are intentionally weaker than other characters, by that same logic nobody should be fucking touching ANY Goku in top/past top
Did you not listen to a thing he said? Weak characters as a gimmick can exist, but the general idea of balance being out the window because "well canonically this character is super weak therfore SSgoku Blue should be able to wipe out all his health bars in one move " while ALSO saying "see you at Evo" is stupid. You can't have it both ways. This is why I hate most anime games, people like you want "the source material' to he honored by characters being able to one shot eachother, but you also want it taken seriously as a fighting game?? Stupid as heck
Did you listen to a thing he said? He said weak characters as a gimmick can exist, but you can't play it both ways. You can't say "well canonically this character is weaker than Goku therefore, he should take out all his health in one go" and also go "see you at Evo" that's stupid as hell. You can't have it both ways.
I think he can only Dodge when he is in sparking mode because at some point where he dodged the Kamehameha from Black that was not human reaction that was definitely auto dodge
I get that first balance point but in any fighting game there is going to be a busted character that you run into. In MK kenshi , johnny. In T8 bryan, drag, lili, yoshi etc.
FR at ALL times there will be a meta, even if they nerf meta itll just switch to the next best thing so on and so forth. Balancing is a reductive way to design your online game frankly, it just boils every character down to number values and hit boxes. Whoever has the smallest hit box and best number values during a given period of times wins and thats super boring. Id rather characters in the anime that are strong remain strong, at least that's accurate and somewhat engaging. Theres no reason Z Frieza or Demon Piccolo should be stronger than Beerus 🤣
They should definitely balance out all the characters just like they used to in the older games, not balancing all the characters out has always been stupid to me and never made any sense. Not balancing the characters out takes away from the skill and the fun imo, imagine having Vegito blue but you get beat by a really goo Hercule player, fights like that are hilarious and really broadens the horizons of the game showing us that any character can be a top tier character or at the least competitive enough once you learn how to use them properly
I dont think thats ui's ultimate only because his base ki was still very high and ultimates usually drain most of the base ki from what we seen. Idk if that is an item they equipped goku with or he just used a super.
I thought I heard something about this game employing a ratio system like the fan made MvC2 mode which I thought was cool (Its something I actually wondered about for other games) but I guess not... darn
Maybe it will be a skill whee he can dodge for a short periode of time i don't know to be honest but the main point of ui is that it's a transformation where the body react on his own so he should be dodging similar to xenoverse 2 where his stamina is drain every time he dodge which can balance the game.
Bro I'm glad it's not balanced but thats why they have a point system. If it were balanced you wouldn't get that realism with difference in power levels. Everyone needs to play who they like and what's fun not go for the best meta characters.
As long as they make the shitter charecters more technical and higher skill cap the good players will not abuse the op people. Like actual good people will fuck you up with a saibaman
"cant just ignore balance al together" let a game be broken, some of the funnest shit is ruined because of content creator whining. Many games have been ruined by A. Content creators thinking they know players and B. "Pro" player intervention. You say esports but pros literally make up less than 5% of a standard playerbase so idgaf what esports or pros think of it, when ill be fighting other casuals not effin esports players. An over reliance on pro player input has killed Halo infinite for example, game was designed to be sweaty and pro player friendly and it killed the actual audience. When the casual players aren't listened to as well then your game is destined to fail.
Balance didn’t matter when we were on our couches playing w our homies but this game has an online ranked mode and it being to unbalanced will just make playing online unfun and the game will die because of it
The thing is balancing is a fickle and Endless process, once you start bowing to the community to start nerfing shit the community will spend the games life cycle CONSTANTLY complaining and the devs will respond by CONSTANTLY tweaking it rather than adding stuff people care about. Look at TCS, Fortnite, DBD, Apex, CoD etc... Its not necessarily bad for those games, since they pride themselves being that way on purpose and being a different experience on a week by week basis, but FighterZ proved that the community (for fighting games at least) dont wanna have to study every set of patch notes and learn all the in game values just to figure out why their favorite character is trash all of a sudden: Only the Meta Slaves and Sweats care about that. The community by in large care instead about content and exploits/bugfixes mainly. Thats why Xv2 and BT3 is still alive and games like FighterZ arent so much. Despite the fact all 3 of them are db games with a strong modding community working on them in the background. There will ALWAYS be a meta character that people who sweat are gonna pick, that's just it; even BT3 had that cause everyone picks SS2 Teen Gohan, SS4 Gogeta, and Perfect Cell. Fighting games are never truely balanced as far as Meta is concerned, the strongest will always be picked and the Meta is whatever is strongest, changing who that character is fixes none of that... If Xv2 starting Nerfing Awoken Hit and Blue KK Goku, it'll just lean more towards Custom Jiren and Restrained Broly, then MUI Goku and Male Earthlings etc etc, so on and so forth. At that point you're just catering to the people who dont go outside and play online matches all day, the people who have forced themselves to see Gogeta Blue and UI Goku 24/7 instead of taking breaks and changing games when they get pissed off and instead hop on forums, Reddit, and comment sections to bitch at the devs about literally any and every character in the game and why they are "Too OP plz nerf". The solution is to not care so much, stop sweating about patch notes and balancing and just play the game for FUN. Instead of complaining you run into too many Blue Gogetas maybe ask yourself if you're playing online too much and need a break. Ik for me personally im not gonna be playing online much aside from fighting my friends, the last thing imma wanna do is play online against randoms
