Absolutely love the direction losi took for this vehicle. This is not meant to be sent. I really want that scale realism for the looks and driving characteristics. Good job , Losi!
Any chance you'll do a comparison of the 2.0 and the udr ? It's been a long time since UDR release. Be interesting to see the similarities between the 2
Losi is really starting to hit it out of the park with their releases . Super Baja Rey then the LMT and mega trucks now the dirt bike rc and the new Rey 2.0. I mean love it. I'm sure I'm forgetting some but I love it so far. Prices are getting up there but it's what it is . Investments and scale models. PROBLEM IS THAT I WANT TO BUY EVERYTHING I WANT THEM ALL. SERIOUSLY I HAVE A RC ADDICTION
Just got the Isenhaurer one, the exploded view for parts is terrible. Didn’t even explain how to remove body to get to components. There are 22 small screws that have to be removed to take it all off. Haven’t even figured out how to take the cage off. There’s a trick to installing battery, have to compress rear end to allow battery to slide in and out. Can someone make a video on how to remove body and cage, please!?
Definitely on the right track, I've been waiting for a real 1/10 desert trophy truck since the first slash was released 20 years ago. V1 was not very scale but this one is spot on, just pre-ordered blue Method version. Also have Losi SCTE 4x4 race truck which is great, a Traxxas UDR that I love and a bunch of scale crawlers.
Love the fact they added dampeners in the front and rear, I'd love to race it on a good scale track, I bet it soaks up bumps and lands very smooth! Awesome rig!!! 👍🏻
Looks amazing. Losi killing it recently. Anyways with a trophy truck this scale and spot on, I hope there'd be room for a sound system to be fit in there somewhere. It's really the only thing missing in a scale rig like this. There's the sense innovations ESS that's popular. The bigger V2 I have a hard time seeing where you could fit that. Maybe above the battery if it'll fit under drivers. 14:35 And anybody who wants big air I would recommend do not go with solid axle rigs like this is. They tend to donkey kick. Big air and or maybe racing is better with independent suspension RCs. This is for off-roading bumpy conditions type driving.
This is absolutely awesome! I'm sold on this truck! It's got that mix of speed and realistic looks and also within my price range with some savings and budgeting
These are so sick. I actually hope they release just the shell body clear. I dont need any more trucks, but bodies yes! I want to do a rust and rumble on that classic ford!
Greg, what a machine. Love it to bits. I own an SBR 2.0 and I still want one of these new 1/10ths. That's how good they seem to be. But why I'm really posting s comment today is to tell you that I always come to your channel right away with every new release, because you're my number one reference for the technical overview of any new RC. Definitely the most comprehensive, concise and informative in-depth section of all the RC channels I watch. Every single time. And trust me, I watch over dozens of them... Thank you for making such a great contribution to the scene, and I hope this never changes.
I am starting to love the scale looking rc vehicles more and more in this kind of segment. This is my next rc purchase in the spring. These trucks look great on the shelf or in the garage, but they also drive great and look awesome doing so. That’s hard to beat! Great review. And I think I’ll go for the Raptor Method truck as much as I do love the F100.
Wow that black one for a second- thought it was the pro line body you had on I think a slash a while ago. But to my surprise it's a somthing completely different. Totally dig it!!!
I’m glad you brought up the chatter. I just picked up my heatwave yesterday and I noticed the body chatter right away. I initially thought a tab broke off or something got knocked loose, but I couldn’t find anything. Also, I went a little too hard right off the bat and sent the truck a through some hard slams and tumbles. Body stayed in tack, but scuffed up pretty bad.
I definitely like the added body elements. Personally something scale mashed me more than twice as likely to buy it. Even if it's not my "preferred" brand, manufacturer, or model. So much better than a generic body or non-licensed/non-scaled versions. Even if there is a non-licensed version to keep costs down it's awesome to have a licensed version. Those look sick!
Wow, just incredible! This might be Losis most attractive and mechanically nicely improved car since years for me personally. I'm not able to afford it right now, but I'm going to save up to buy it as a Xmas gift for myself. Omg, I want this so badly!!!!😢
Already ordered this when i got the text message from horizon hobby. Losi has been on their A-game lately. First the PromtoMX now this bad boy! So excited to get mine and take it to the track! It's going to be a weeiner! Thanks for always breaking them down for us so we know what to expect before we get our grubby hands on these machines! You always kill it! Greg! The best RC reviewer with tech tips hands down!
I have pretty much all these trucks now, from Losi and Traxxas, and I absolutely agree about the speed thing, my SBR 2.0 I often only have set to 50/75% of max power, same with my UDR, mostly drive that at 75% power, the speeds are totally out of scale otherwise and they just become silly IMO, if I want to go nuts fast I take out the 5ive 2.0 or my little Slash :D The trucks for me are more how they tackle the terrain and how they look while doing it, rather than the pure speed.
Great vid thanks…I was wondering about the differences under the bodies but why did they call it the 2.0??? Isn’t that what the last one was called? I would have named it the 3.0 to keep confusion on the low lol. Dual shocks are sick!!! Like a mini UDR, it makes me wonder why traxxas never did a 1/10 version as the UDR is one of my fav rc’s I’ve ever driven. To answer your question I don’t really care about the looks as much as the price point…and ifs front/solid rear trucks have always been expensive. Would be nice to see a builders kit return for the Rey platform!!
Wow that is a great update. I really like my mint 400 BajaRey. Maybe it’s about time for an update. Awesome job Losi, awesome video. Thanks for all the work RC Driver 👍
I used to be a Traxxas fanboy when I got into rc but I’m starting to lean more towards losi even the Baja Rey 2.0 over the UDR. (Except for crawlers I love the Vanquish VS4-10 phoenix)
Lodi done a really good job on these, especially the f100 I’ll be getting one. I prefer a more scale body and realism over a blah body anyday of the week, especially with the price of some of the rc’s.
These look awesome, thanks for a nice review. The suspension seems a little less soft than with the v1.0, or maybe that is just my impression. I would love to see these driven side-by-side with the previous generation.
Thank you! Contrary to what some think, companies don’t pay me and I decline all products with paid video offers. I’ve only done two paid project videos and made it clearly known they were paid. I try to give huge amounts of details so viewers know what they’re getting into. That’s what’s most important. Thanks for watching!!
@@rcdriver Yeah I know you do, thank you. I hope your making money to continue is my point. I sub'd to your other channel. Soo much cool content, take care.
Yes, scale…..love both bashing and scale. Love what losi is/has been up too. I’m a sucker for scale over performance. I play with my stuff much less than I just enjoy the tiny rendition of its full scale counterparts. 3:1 ratio….3 scaler based releases to 1 full out performance release….keep it coming losi. Bout due for a big bad bashing machine! 1/5th maybe???
Not all full scale engineering concepts translate directly to RC. The option to tweak and tune for a better driving experience is always good in my book.
@@rcdriver oh I agree. The more tunability the better. I was mostly just replying to people who are asking why they would have gone to no front sway bar upfront. This model is clearly trying to be more scale than the 1.0 so I think that is maybe the reason.
Looks and performance plz love it damn gotta get 2.0 now damnit and. A new majova lol just got the 8s EXB last year shit hope Santa comes thru cuz I still need hpi rally n that cen 😅 racing rally thx bro 🙏 allways got the 411 n details
The bottom loading has its faults too. Personally i think the rear loading is better. Ive got many of the Rey RCs so i can give my thoughts. The bottom loading door gets stuck any time you use it in dirt. I have 3 Super Rock Reys with bottom loading, 1 SBR 1.0 with rear loading, 1/10 Rock Rey with rear loading.
They recently did. A year ago the SRR was a version 1.0 with Dynamite electronics while the 2.0 is with a Spektrum system. I personally prefer the Dynamite system, but ive not yet used my 2.0 with the Spektrum. I have the same Spektrum system in an Arrma Outcast 8s and it is rather sluggish vs the 750 kv Dynamite.
Great looking trucks yep think ima go 2s I wanna go for a more realism feel and look. 3s seems more for like flat parking lot surface. I absolutely looooove the details I know they’ll get damage it’s my part of my favorite theme with these trucks.
The new looks are definitely needed. I think the heatwave is going to be insanely possible. The SBR2.0 is awesome, but I think it'll be great for them to kinda revamp the interest in the 1/10 scale class. These are gonna do just that.
Wow I want one! Looks beautiful. One of the nicest looking rcs. I might have to part with my TT pro i haven't run much and grab one of these to replace it!
So the 2nd shock is similar to a triple bypass setup. Also very, very rarely, almost never will a class 1 truck have a front sway bar. In the rear, absolutely, but it's difficult for not only packaging but getting a front sway bar to not impede on the way IFS cycles through the stroke. The way most center mount trucks are designed, the body roll actually aids in the way the truck rotates through a corner. Morgan Clarke explains it really thoroughly. Y'all should go give him a sub because his channel is hands down the best informational channel on RU-vid when it comes to pre runners and desert trucks.
Be careful buying from Horizon Hobby. I bought one they sent two and charged me for two. Sent the 2nd one back unopened, they received it on 8/10 They still have not refunded me $585.88. It's a nice truck but it's not worth $1.171.76
I think I prefer the Raptor body, but excited to see this update. The old one is also tuned for flat dirt running and looks amazing in it's home terrain.
