For clarity you can try taping on a pink, red or magenta filter over the lens depending on depth. Should help a bit with glare but also make everything look more natural and less green after 10+ feet. Amazing content as always JS! These vids are incredibly educational.

This is fantastic, so when we were on those fish at our second location all over the down scan... the experience I have always had is they are very picky but also seem to wise up to the baits. Also Garrett said to me when on an area like that, it's best to give it plenty of time because the bite will come in waves from surrounding blackfish.

Great video and very informative. To see the fish in their natural habitat is amazing. That Sea Bass was beautiful, and the porgys were cool. Now we see what is going on when the bait hits the bottom. All those little fish pecking on the bait clean it out quickly. Thanks for all your videos. It's always a learning experience.

That drone is cool. I like your theory on the golden blackfish. I think some are orange because of the crab orange eggs. Stripers are probably afraid of bubbles since dolphins and seals emit bubbles. That's funny to watch the jig so clearly while fishing. It's like cheating haha. Crank the brightness up on the screen and or get/make a sun visor.

Impressive drone and impressive video - fascinating to watch the fish behavior with the baited jig. A lot can be learned watching response to different baits. The controlled view of the seabed and fish population is awesome and, as fish don't seem to be bothered by the drone, their behavior is not influenced.

14:20 As the jig is lifted only slightly off the bottom instead of sharply up 4 or 5 feet, the fish look more interested in the bait and don't lose sight of it so much. Crushing the bait sounds like an excellent idea. It should only take a short snap to set the hook anyway.

For the glare I've seen others use an Amazon box. Cut out the top and bottom, so you can basically recess the screen into the box.

I love black fishing. There are plenty of Rocky bottoms in Long Island Sound. I never pulled my boat until Thanksgiving. Right now is prime fishing. My favorite spot was a ledge 55ft down, just into a sea channel. The reef was maybe 100ft wide and 200ft long, very hard to anchor over, in moving current. Coast Guard chased me off the spot a few times. The biggest fish I caught came off the spot. 11lbs 5oz

John see if the drone manufacturer makes filters for the drone camera. I believe a magenta or red filter would drastically reduce the green hue in the footage and may even improve visual detail in the footage also a polarized filter should help reduce the sun glare you mentioned experiencing.

Darkness is your friend when working a screen outside, I have the same problem running ice fishing cameras outside of the tent. We usually have an extra jacket or blanket to drape over our heads. You could probably rig a tube-like sun shield I would guess the depth would need to be at least as deep as it is wide and I would paint the inside flat black. On the ice, I would probably have to hold my head close if not press it against my face against it, but a sunny day on the ice is nothing but glare.

Because the water is deep; Bering is extremely murky; crabs are attracted to bait and not a camera. Waiting for Crabs to show on camera is wasting the time on your set.

Hey Jon. I’m a construction diver in the ny harbor and I have to say I disagree with what you said about striped bass. It’s mostly schooly sized fish but they are by far the most curious fish I encounter. If I’m cleaning barnacles off of piles they may follow me all day. Most common thing they do is strike my flashlight while I’m working. Thanks for the videos!

for better video throw a go pro on top with the deep water case and it will be must sharper and make sure its on 4k and not 5k it will be better with the light and less grainy
