I've only bought another brand exclusively in the last 15 years. But! I'm looking at a 30 ton Artic right now because of how impressed I was with the Volvo equipment and people.
Alex, Charlie runs ALL Cat, they were at Volvos headquarters in Pa. I Personally like Cat best, but since watching Chris it has opened my eyes about Volvo.
that truck and the drone footage are impressive . I can't stop wondering how much dirt you fellas and your team could move up in the Yukon gold fields, compared to what other crews do, and would it be worth taking a summer off ?
I'm sorry sir but I fundamentally disagree with your statement! Catapillar all the way! Volvos are good if you want a quick solution, but about three or four years down the road you're going to have to replace them. Luckily Chris has enough money to replace it if he manages somehow to break it. That's why I say it's OK for him to use Volvos.
Alex Williamson'sadventures 1st things first Cat is overly expensive and the part availability is slim. But Volvo has a ton of parts and they are easy to access maintenance points in them. The other thing is I have seen Volvos that are 6 or 7 years old and are still running and have about 7 to 8,000 hours on them. So Volvo is great to use. Also Volvo is a lot more smoother to run than cat.
@2:50 "What does this truck weigh?" Per Volvo, Net (empty) weight - 96,452 lb, Gross weight - 217,706 lb. I wanted to see you do more "realistic" mud trials, like what you bog boyz encounter at home. At least something more than gravel and dusty.
