It looks great! Not Wiggy at all. You are not used to the amount of hair is all... Wear it around the house for a while and I bet you will change your opinion on it. It looks natural and you look beautiful in it... I think that it's my favorite so far.
Really? Wow...that's encouraging! Thanks for watching today, and for leaving your comment. I definitely have to deal with the shine sitch, and also the 'perfectly perfect' ness that it seems to scream! LOL
Would love to see a follow up once you have had some time to get used to it. I've only bought 1 short wig - and I feel it is way too much hair - so I don't know if I could sport Rosie....yet....but I can tell you that it looks natural on you and gorgeous!!!! Wear it with confidence.
I think this looks wonderful on you, not wiggy at all. This is one of my first wigs and mine looks different than yours. I actually prefer the non HD. fibers, the wigs last longer and don't tangle as bad. I just invest in dry shampoo Lol. But after a couple of washings the shine toned down. I wear mine out all the time, love it. Doesn't look like the picture at all, but hey that's ok.
Hello Lisa! This is really good to know! I know that they can differ wig to wig. I may order another one eventually, because she had so much potential! Thanks so much for watching!
Rosie looks fabulous on you. You are worrying too much. I used to be that way and now I don't care if people are looking at me and think it is a wig. I don't think it looks wiggy. It looks wiggy to you because you are not used to having thicker hair like that. At my job I see a lot of ladies with very nice hair like that. I play a game and try to think of a wig it is similar too. These days there are no age limits on hair styles/length. lol. You look great. 12fs8 is my favorite so far. I got Ciara a couple of months ago and my daughter was with me when I took her out of the box. She said OMG! it glows. lol. But she liked that about it.
Hi Jill ...I'm buying wigs by the dozen and seem to have a problem with them being sooooo wigy, I've cut my Scarlett and a couple more in my quest to make them more me...oh dear . Saying that I'm addicted as I get hair that I've dreamed of (eventually ) I do love my toppers and they feel somewhat more comfortable . I also go for the shaded prailine or the creamy toffee....I love the wigs you choose so I'm following . Thank you . Ann x
It is a journey! I think...so far the 'Elizabeth by Jon Renau', and by 'Straight Up With A Twist by Raquel Welch' look the most natural ...and not wiggy at all. It is a hit and miss...and if I get a miss, I try to see if I can make it work for me. I have made a couple bad decisions, but it's gonna happen. :( Thanks so much for watching today, I appreciate it!
It was so funny to me to hear you repeatedly say it was too much hair because it looks SO realistic on you! I think you just might be used to your hair/wigs being thinner. Seriously I was laughing to myself because if I had not known it was a wig I would have just thought to myself, wow pretty, pretty hair. I wouldn't have thought that was a wig. I wouldn't have thought you even might have extensions. It's so very natural and pretty on you.....
Aww...thank you! Welll.....Rosie ended up in the garbage not 20 minutes ago! We had a little adventure today, and it was a fail. :( The de-bulking/thinning went fine...but, it still didn't really do much about the style I was struggling with so then I decided to very carefully straighten it on a low setting with water and conditioning spray. Bad idea. LOL It really wasn't too too bad, but it did look like cheap over-processed hair by the time I was done. So, thank goodness I got her on sale (but, still...it wasn't a $70 wig!). I was in the head space of..welp, if I ruin it I ruin it!....Still bummed, but can't cried over spilled milk now! OYE! Thanks for watching, Michelle!
Thank you Jill. I was considering getting Rosie, but I think between Elizabeth and Cameron, I have this style covered. It doesn't make sense to get Rosie, which looks exactly like Cameron, to me. And it's heavier. I don't like anything over 3.5 ounces. It is so good of you to review these wigs so honestly.
This looks BEAUTIFUL on you!! The one thing I don't like about Jon Renau is the extremely dark roots. They just look so dark against your skin. I guess I really like the way the Raquel Welch has highlights all around the face. I'm waiting on a human hair topper to wear for the summer and then try a wig for fall and winter. Maybe it's like you said and the color is off a tad. I like it parted in the middle better. Your face and skin is just too GORGEOUS to be hidden!! 😉💝🌷
I think you look fantastic in this wig. I’m not new to wigs, but not that new either. I have been without hair for about 5 months and been through several wigs. Your advice, though, has kept me going. And, to add to the compliments, your tutorials and “chats” have helped me-even today, when I’m only a few months from getting my hair back (meaning going public with my own head, that is). Will I keep wearing wigs? After watching your videos, I’m thinking yes! I love people with an inspiration /practical mix, and that’s you. Thanks for all you do. And I’ll keep watching.
What a lovely, sweet and kind comment/post to read this evening! Thank you so much for sharing, and posting this! I appreciate you watching, and hope you have a wonderful week ahead, Stefani!
Gorgeous...too gorgeous for everyday real life...is that what you mean! It is strange how when we were younger gorgeous was no problem but then all of a sudden we are middle age and feel like we have to apologize for wanting to look gorgeous! I PERSONALLY feel safe with a more subdued look, otherwise I feel like I am begging to be too closely scrutinized. I am not brave enough to push it, but I wish I was!!!!
Hi Christine! So well written... ;) I do feel I am brave to push it....but, only if I feel (wig wise) that it's not too 'wiggy'. ya know? It's like ...hmmm..this is not 'reality hair'. LOL It's Hollywood, I just had a stylist style it to perfection, and camera ROLL. LOL Thanks for watching!
Pretty, healthy shine. Love, love the fullness on you. Of course the new styles are dating back to the 70s+. Some I like ,some I don't . I. Love the crowns too. When I realized permatease was a keeper was when a girl who had worn wigs longer than I, was that you didn't run all day to a mirror to see if the style had collapsed, I began to own permatease. People do have hair that gorgeous.
I ordered editor's pick in August. They told me on backorder until December. I was ok with that well, it showed up in September. I loved it but I try not to mess with it to much because of the hd fibers. I'm already getting a small area frizzing in November. So I only wear it a couple times a week. Thank God I discovered that I like changing up my hair everyday. Now I have a wig for every day of the week
80s fashion and hair is back!! ... it's gorgeous! I think once you wear it you'll feel great.. it's REALLY not too MUCH hair... just a wee bit long than your others...enjoy!!
Looks great! Doesn't look like "too much hair" at all. What it does look like is, if you grew-out Elizabeth... or Eve, and you're just not used to longer hair.
I think the Rosie looked spectacular on you. I would order that in a minute, but I can't find it in a large cap size, so ... bummer. But you looked amazing in that.
This one cracked me up Jill!!!!! I know what you mean about "pretend life"...and I feel the same about some wigs being over the top! I will some times run an errand with a wig like that on and I just pray I don't see someone I know! LOL All that said, this looks great on you in my opinion!
Hi Betzie! Haha! ... I ended up ruing Rosie, and she ended up in the trash. :( That one hurt. That is so funny. I too have done that. So silly! What's the sense of wearing a wig that you just can't wait to get home and hope nobody sees you? GUH! LOL It usually is a new one, and it takes a bit for me to feel confident. Thanks for your nice compliment, and thanks for watching!
Yes, keep us updated! It is believable on camera, anyway. Go for it! I understand that the synthetic non-HD actually wear better than the HD. I think Editor's Pick may be just as full.
Jill Lynn. ..did you use the word "giggi "...just about lost it..I adore your take on wigs..and the vocabulary is just perfection. this was another example of a great teachable moment! you say what I think, you answer my questions before I ask....appreciate all the great ideas and girl you really know how to get the wigs to work. lol...I so need to try some different "date night hair"..fancy smancy hair.....definitely not Safeway hair, more like "whole foods market" hair.. 2 things omg! !!!you cannot be 50 and seriously are you" miss patty pearl's " daughter..so fun and your hubby will love this wig on you,yes yes yes it is totally believable so wish Jon Renau would make a brown as perfect as shaded praline! !!! thanks for a great review....to much fun .❤👌👍
I have found that when I wear my wigs I turn heads. I know they are not looking at my wig. It is my whole look. Definitely doesn't happen when I don't wear one. :)
It really looks good on you! It's just cause your not used to wearing this longer wig. But, a regular person will not know you have a wig on! Believe me!!
You look fabulous in Rosie! LOL - I am the same as you though, as I have always had short hair - - - but I'm going to try a mid length wig too. Thanks for sharing!! I really enjoy your videos!!
Hi Jill, I think you look great in Rosie. I'm researching her because I'm thinking of purchasing her and I love watching you play with a new wig so I can get some styling ideas. Have you ventured out with her yet? Thanks for the video! XO
I’m not sure why you are so reluctant to fall in love with this wig!!!! It’s beautiful I think and not over the top at all. Is it the feel of the fibers? I would love to try this one myself. How much does it weigh? I also don’t think it’s dated either.
I'm enjoying your wig journey. They all look fabulous on you. I watched your video on securing your wig and now you have me concerned that I don't take this step seriously enough. I only wear the nylon cap and I'm wondering if I should try the stay on wig glue but I do have a concern. When you put the glue on does it make the lace front and nape of the neck "gunky"? Do you feel you have to wash the glue out daily? I only wear a wig when I go out and wash it every few weeks. Currently I'm also wearing Jon Renau HD wigs and I find they wear very well but then I don't play with it once it's on and I'm ready to go. As they get older there's some neck friction but I'll put the leave in condition on and have found the straightener at a low setting seems to smooth things out. If you have a moment to let me know your experience with glue buildup that would be great. Depending on what you say I may purchase some but don't want to ruin my wigs. BTW you're way to critical about your appearance. There's nothing wrong with your neck, it's not chunky and is just the right size for your heard and shoulders.
Not to be a downer, but don't curl the Crowd Pleaser, I really messed one up, that was the last time I ordered that style. Also found them to not last as long as others. I am currently wearing RW Editors PIck and love it.
Oh goodness...I was thinking we were talking about the one shown in the beginning of this video...'Straight Up With A Twist"... My 'Crowd Pleaser' is already quite curly, and hope it relaxes a bit! I do love that one too! It's kinda retro..but in a good way! LOL
Hi Sue! Thank you! I would LOVE it if was available in HD. I would straighten it out a bit I think, and it would feel more realistic. I would have to wonder if it would hold up long, clump and tangle much faster in the HD, though. :( It will be interesting to see if it hold up longer. We'll see! Thanks for watching!
Yes I know what you are talking about. After having Jon Renau Heat Defiant compared to non-heat defiant, I much prefer the Heat Defiant Color. Why can't they be consistent??????????
Not sure about this one on you either. Looks too puffy, and although I like the color 12FS8 I do not like the dark line around the front..it stands out so much...looks like a dead give away its a wig. I do like the first wig you had on at the beginning of your video. Which wig was that one? Personally I like the Rachel Welch wigs on you. I may have to try one of hers as well. Thanks so much for your videos, luv your sense of humor.
Hi Michaela! Thanks for watching first off.. ;) I think I like this one (Rosie) a lot more when I pull it back (like the brow design tutorial). Yeah, those dark roots on the shaded praline...it's a trade off because I love the color so much. I also think 'on camera' they show up much darker than in real life. I always put the wig I am wearing in the video down in the 'show more/comment' box. The one in this one was United by Ellen Wille. OYE...yeah, there is a whole journey I went on with that one. I even uploaded a video to it. LOL I can only wear United if I put 'something' in her. ;) Hugs!
I think you look fabulous in this wig.. if you feel that it's too much hair just thin it a little. It really looks great on you. Let us know what you do with it. Enjoy!!
Hahaha! This wig really caught me off guard! I felt so glamorous, and didn't quite know how I felt about that! LOL! Thanks for watching! I think many many people really never find themselves watching ALL my videos! I tend NOT to make short ones. ;) You must be a trooper if you have made it through this one! HUGS!
Hi Jill. I just got Rosie after watching your video, because I just love the style and I have a big face and need more hair in my wig to look good on me. I am not disappointed. What helped me the most is your tutorials on using products, this one definitely needed products because it’s very soft and flat on me. I have never used the products you recommend, so I bought them all and my question is, the spray gel felt very wet on the wig and not sure it did anything. I think I didn’t use it right. Can you explain how you use it? In one of your videos you mention you were thinking of getting a wig stand so you can demonstrate what you do on a wig. I hope you do that. Love your videos.👍😊. Eileen
Hi Eileen! I use the spray gel like this: I spray a bit in my palm, rub my hands together and scrunch it into the fibers starting toward the base of the cap. Using the spray gel w/ the holding spray help as well. The holding spray tends to work better w/ other products because it has something to stick to...if that makes sense? I use the spray gel when I am wanting to scrunch the fibers, and give an edgier look...but, also to help the fibers 'stay' put. OK...I'll put that on my video list..(demonstrating how I use the products w/ a wig on a wig stand.) I did forget about that, so thank you for reminding me! Thanks for watching, and for your kind words!
Hi Kim! You know...I have thought about doing that, BUT the more I look and play with Rosie...it's not that she has too much hair, it's the body, and the 'perfect' way she is designed to lay. If that makes sense? I don't think thinning will do anything about that. Maybe, in time she will 'relax' and be less perfect looking! LOL Thanks for watching!
First off, thanks for watching this morning! ;) I am definitely wondering if thinning would help the 'wiggy' ness that seems to happen with this full-bodied wig. Haha! I think though, the other thing with this wig...it's like tooo perfect. Even if it were thinned...I have to wonder, would it help that? I don't know. I was hoping that when I washed it, it would maybe relax a bit. In ALL ways! LOl
I know this is an old video that you tickle me the way you go on about that wig. I just love you girlfriend, I think it looks terrific it does not look like a wig and you could sure pull it off. Well I will let you go just wanted to say it looks great on you I love the color it's a little warmer than your wigs you usually wear but it looks beautiful on you hope you kept it. And yes there are women with thicker hair like that it's just not us but you can't tell that it's a wig looks great have a good day
I absolutely love it on you.. wear it and own it! I think back to Crystal Carrington look- which was fabulous! I think ithas a lot of versatility and you should just do it!
LMAO hot flash too funny? The unit looks great on you! And I get what your saying where you have this beautiful hair and then you get the women with the ponytails and just really casual so you think you stand out. Wear her! Stand out and not care! Be you and be happy! If your happy that is all that counts!
I really like that on you!! I think when you do "your thing" to it, it's going to look fantastic! You're right about the color but it really is a very beautiful wig! Just long enough but not too long!! ❤️. Which one seems more hot to wear, regular synthetic or H.D.? It's really not much more than your Crowd Pleaser. There you GO!! Make it you!! 👍👍❤️ Xxx, Myra
Hi Myra! Thank you. ;) That's such a great question.... I think how warm a wig is going to be seems to relate more to cap construction...at lease for me. I have had a very short wig be VERY warm, because it was a closed cap. Thanks for watching, and for taking the time to write your comment! Hugs~
I know just how you feel about the "real life" wigs vs. the "fancy schmancy" wigs...and I don't live in Beverly Hills either! Plus I don't want to go out and feel uncomfortable even if it's just me. I think this is pretty hair but nope...won't be getting it. Love your reviews.
Hi Jill, are you interested in any curly ones for a change? I have the Rosie, yes I like it, it looks great on you ! Denise Ps ok you just said Editors Pick.. good ! I have Sweet Talk coming this week by Gabor, can't wait !
Hi Denise! OOOh....let me know what you think about Gabor's Sweet Talk! I am SO wanting some nice, lose curly ones, but not sure how I will look in them because I have a 'full' kinda rounder face. YOU however, would look completely adorable in those pretty face framing/ beachy wavy ones! Thanks for watching today! Hugs!
I liked that wig. Unfortunately, Raquel Welch wigs are too snug for me. I really need to try the HD in Jon Renau. I don't like yellow in blonde wigs and it sounds like HD would be a better bet for me.
ahhh, No, this wig does not look "wiggy" It looks full and a bit messy. Cute and a bit sexy! And Im not ordering anything but a bean, cheese, rice burrito.
Hi there Cindy! Haha! It doesn't come across as wiggy as in person. Hmm...as I type that I am wondering if it is because my 'eye' is tricking me? This wig thing is such a journey! LOL Thanks again for mentioning me in your recent video...that was INCREDIBLY sweet of you..truly! I gasped, and was so surprised! Hugs to you, and I just love your personality, and your videos. Hugs!
do not thin thi wig.. it i just gorgeous and sexy. I would try to work on the front hairline to make it look less "perfect". yes the color is a little warmer than the HD. it is great for you and it gives you a chance to have a differnt look.
I love your input. I agree with that front hairline! I just don't know quite how to fix that without heat? Do you think if I get it a little damp, and kinda direct it where I want it to go, and let it dry??
you culd certainly try the wet technique if you want to change the way the hair lays..but I was referring to the lace front hairline. it needs to be plucked and possibly trimmed ever so carefully into a irregular edge. Blondie locks has a video on how to do it ...it will make it look so much more natural.right where the lace lays on your forehead. I think the basic way the hair frames and lays around the face is natural and flattering
I would wear this one for sure just the way it is..(with the work on the hairline lace) .. it would look really cute pulled up on the ides and in back into a claw clip
for heavens sake.. just put it on and go out the door.. ppl will love it. I would see this on a woman and might ask.."is it a ...nah....she has gorgeous hair!
This looks wiggy. Hate Jon Renau dark hairlines. Sorry. I favor RW. Good review though. I also prefer you in the honey toned shades more than the Biscuit shades. Washes you out. :/
