i just got a dys x220 aweek ago. when i first fly it, 2props was broken in split seconds 😥 thanks to this video adam. now i can tame my x220 by trying to play around with the PID. this is really helpul. appreciate it Adam 👍👍
I'm new to this hobby - been flying Walmart drones for a while and now decided to sit at the big boy's table. I bought the x220s and with the starting kit. Your video was by far the most helpful. Thanks, bruh!
thank you for this guide i was struggling trying to get my transmitter and rx to talk to each other it was bound but it was not moving the quad at all and seeing you mess around help me mess around with the wires till i figured out which one it was see i just bought the quad and i had a stripped screw and to take it out i took the top plate off and so i wouldnt brake wires i unplugged the receiver and the vtx and counldnt remember how it plugged back but got it working tyvm
Just bought the Eachine X220s, the FC is different, its got a omnibus, and the protocol for the ESC is different. Took me a while to figure all of this out, but without those updates parts to your video, people wont update the correct firmware (nor how to boot on FC with new FC), and up to set up the motors correctly. Also the transceiver control, doesn't ever say "bind ok", only evidence that the control is bound the receiver is that the light is solid.
I'm a race quad newbie so bought the Eachine x220 quad, do I need to this firmware update on the quad? or can I just connect quad to the Rx and fly it stock?
great vid mate, I just bought an E Wizard x220 as my first race drone second hand but like new condition, previous owner saying it has an upgraded FLI14+ receiver configured through I bus. Im guessing i should be doing te above steps in your vid to reconfigure it, for noob settings?
Thanks for this! Currently watching right now because when I plug my drone into my computer for betaflight it wont do anything. I hope you touch on this;)
Hey, so I tried your video, the beta flight didn’t flash, turns out I saw another video that all you had to do was turn it on and take off the arm and then you fly, beginners don’t need to go through all the stuff you did, I just wanted to fly, now I had an eraser flight controller that can’t be flashed and I’m not any closer to flying.
Gregory Dahl i feel you, but I bought pre builds with a frsky, not flysky receiver.... i didnt want to open the quads up and add another receiver, so I think I will sell it or give away
Hi bro.. I have problems, I buy a old x220 but I have problems, don't possibly arm.. and after I go to betafligt and don't possibly entry... I need upgrade the firmware? sorry my horriby English, and I don't understand Many words in English... You possibly help my! I live alone, and I are laringtomized, don't posibly found the help Thanks so much..
Hey quick question! I got my wizzard up and flying perfectly but I get a pretty catchy tune from the fc sometimes and i assume its a battery low sound. Kinda sounds like a power ranger song so I quickly unplugged the battery and used a new fully charged with no problem. Just wondering what the song is
Was pretty confident I could get a drone and set it up and or build one as I’m a fast learner, but after watching all these videos I don’t even think I’ll get one... there is a wizard x220 with a flysky i6 radio&transmitter, extra props, 1 3S battery, a charger and 2 wrenches for $238 CAD. It’s on banggood and it says it’s 43% off so regular price $412 CAD... should I just buy it anyway and try to figure this stuff out through RU-vid? It’s just the Mac we have is old and super slow, and if it doesn’t work really then I won’t really have access to a computer aside from going over to a family members house to run betaflight. These things just seem very confusing at this point and I don’t know anymore. I feel like I should get the drone and controller for now while it’s on sale. Then figure out everything else like getting goggles and working the DVR and that.
I totally understand the feeling! I would take a serious look at the Emax TinyHawk ready to fly (RTF) kit ( www.banggood.com/Emax-Tinyhawk-Indoor-FPV-Racing-Drone-BNF-RTF-F4-4in1-3A-15000KV-37CH-25mW-600TVL-VTX-1S-p-1375328.html?rmmds=search&ID=517238&cur_warehouse=USA ) (I don't have personal experience with it, but I've heard really good things) or some other micro ready to fly kit just to get started.
Hola amigo compré un wizard eachine 220s y no trajo control ni batería y además tiene un cable con un conector negro y los cables son amarillo rojo y negros para q se utiliza gracias q puedo hacer
I assembled my dron tyro99 bind and setap my Flysky -i6s and reciver FS-iA6B but the dron dont reactt to remote control, only beeping 2 times motors move slowly and then red led at controler flashing еvenly and permanetly thats all, motors dont start, I am absolutly beginner. I upload video on my chanel The H.
i have a wizard x220 and Flysky FS-i6. Your video was perfect in helping me set it up. I bought an upgraded video transmitter. I took the old one off and wanted to make sure everything still operated correctly before putting the new one on. I can bind ok. when i go through the beta flight setup everything is cool, the transmitter makes the motors move when armed etc. But as soon as I disconnect my laptop USB the transmitter still says connected, but nothing happens. So i have to reconnec the Laptop, save and reboot then I can control again. Any ideas? Did I fry my flight controller? I haven't done any soldering yet, just clipped the video wires and was planning to splice. Thanks.
OutdoorMentor I bound them again. Did a full reset and reconfigure if the transmitter and the x220. Same story. I think I might have fried something. I bought the ts215 to replace it. But m fs-i6 doesn’t bind either. I can’t seem to win. The 215 is a tx+. Do I buy a new flight controller or can I bind my flysky to the 215 somehow?
Hi! Check out Joshua Bardwell's betaflight setup video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xmaTq4JgTXI.html . It is probably the best resource for installation info!
Hello, I have some experience with RTF quads so I figured I could get the receiver - ready version of the X220, and another sbus\ppm Walkera receiver to use with my Devo 7. I have connected everything and configured in betaflight as per the instructions on about a dozen or so videos I've watched, and while the TX binds to the RX, the RX doesn't seem to connect to the drone.. I've tried both PPM (from the front UART connector on the FC) and SBUS protocol (rear connector) in Betaflight, both in ports and configuration, but it does not recognize the TX, it for example in the receiver config to set the channel travel etc. I have another RX on order, but I was wondering if I've missed something on connecting it, I hope I've provided enough info. Thanks!
Adam I need your help with my Eachine x220s.. how it can show RSSI on OSD if I don’t have additional wire going from the receiver to the FC? I only have +- and signal wire there but I CAN see RSSI which is cool:) why I’m asking.. because I replaced FC from omnibus F4 v3 to omnibus F4 PRO v3 and now I don’t see real RSSI but 16-17% only and never change... how to make it work like it was on the old FC? Please help!
I am new in this hobby. I did all what you tell but I could not stable my quad in the air. It flies well but I want to know which settings can teach me a good pilot skills.
Hi I was wondering if you could help iv been flying my wizard x220 fine but my receiver seemed of lost its connection iv got it linked with the drone again but since that I have a problem whenever I throttle up after moving the stick to about half way my motors 1 and 4 spin right up and flips the drone regardless of me pulling back on the stick they continue to keep spinning at top speed can you help please I have a video but I couldn't load it up on here
Hi! Could be a bad gyro, or maybe a bad motor. I had a kinda similar problem a while back and it turned out to be a bad motor. This video might help ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XDgG4KPVH9k.html
Thanks! Glad it helped! I haven't gone through the process with that FC so I can't tell you *exactly*, but the main (and most obvious) difference is that you'll select your FC board from the firmware flasher dropdown menu. My guess is that since it is newer it would come from the factory with most of the configuration settings already how they need to be in order to fly, and then you can set your switch modes and other preferences.
Hi, Dean! A 4S (~16.8v) battery is the max voltage for this quad, but you could definitely use a battery with more mAh for longer flights but with added weight. Does this help?
Hey! love the video, but I'm having the same issue as Purple Potato. I'm in the Receiver tab. Turned on transmitter first, then turned on the x220 drone. My screen on my Transmitter shows I'm connected to the drone, but my beta flight receiver tab doesn't change. All of my values are still at 1500 and throttle has a value of 885. I'll move the sticks up, down, side to side, but none of the values change on the computer. Also, when I disconnect everything, then power everything back up in the proper order, I get the same issue. Now I can't even fly my x220 drone when it's only powered up by it's battery. The controller says I'm connected, but I cant do anything with the drone. What do you think the problem is?
Why doesn't betaflight show your battery voltage on the screen after you plug in the Lipo? Mine does the same after an update of firmware from 2.9.1 to 3.3.3. Can you also let me know how you got the battery to alarm after being plugged in for over 10mins.
All my throttle and stuff on recover page are diffrant than your and I don’t get any quad movement when moveing sticks on remote, have rebound it twice and still nothing plz help
You might want to edit a secon version that does not involve installing Betaflight, drivers, and flashing firmware... and instead... installs SpeedyBee and connects and configures though that. Because some people don't have a computer (like my friend with this exact same setup) and are going to be trying to do this through their mobile phone. fpv.air-war.org
Hey dude, I was watching your video following you step by step on my x220s, I got to the ports bit on betaflight and noticed mine wasnt the same as yours so like an idiot I changed them round to match yours, now I cant connect to betaflight on any PC (I've tried several) ive also downloaded all drivers needed any pretty much everything I can think of. I was ready for sending it back today but I've just thought of something, would re flashing it get me back on? I think all I need is a factory reset but I dont know how to do it. Please help 👍
@@RCwithAdam1 just noticed your tutorial is on the x220 not the s 😂, no wonder it looked so different! Cheers for the response mate, I'm gonna keep trying. Worst comes to worst I'll send it back and get a new one, can't wait to get going!
@@RCwithAdam1 Yes still happens with props, It will just flip. I followed this step by step. 5 months later and my poor drone has never seen the air :(
Hi! Make sure 1. You're using a USB data cable 2. In bootloader mode 3. Have any necessary drivers installed (probably won't need to do that on a Mac) 4. Have the correct firmware to flash OH! Which firmware version are you trying to flash? The SPracingF3 board is only supported for older than version 4.0 I think. I need to confirm that and make an update video.
I flashed 4.0.6 on the SPRACING F3 board. It loads the firmware ok but gives the SMT32 error on the verifying sequence. It does indeed load it and shows the new version in setup -Firmware: BTFL 4.0.6 , I did it 5 times thinking the flash failed but it works.
The EXACT settings? Probably no. Very close though. The x220S uses a different flight controller than the original x220. I'm not exactly sure which specific parameters might be different.
Adam or anyone H E L P ~~~~ !!!!! The FSi6 shows the TX/RX indicators that the receiver is connected. The Betaflight and Cleanflight show the X220 is connected and I can see it on the configurator (done only). I have watched every video I can, tried every setting on the entire FSi6 and the X220 but the FLYSKY control (any of them ) NEVER show up in the configurator so I can not go past the RECEIVER set up. I have other drones and I am familuar with all this stuff. The FS-iA6B light is solid RED. I'm on IO2 under UART 3. N O T H I N G h e l p !!
Well Adam or anyone else, I hooked up the AT9 I have along with the AT9 receiver to the X220, and bamb oh .... it showed up on the configurator with NO problem. I set the arming switch and one flight mode, rebooted it, but nothing, would not arm the motors. Then, went back to the configurator, and the receiver was NOT showing up anymore. This hobby is crazy. So, back to the FS-iA6B still nothing. If no one knows why please let me know, or do I need a new model, more updated receiver?
Hey, after 3 days .... I fixed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For this old x220 set up, the PPM has to be off, and the receiver is plugged into the top right horizontal slot marked IBUS SERVO ..... motors spun up 1st time, wow, putting it back together now. Have angel and horizon programmed in, wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Technically yes, but I don't think you'll want to. Check out this video Rotor Riot did about the Wizard X220: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fxvKUklqYzU.html
@@RCwithAdam1 OK, Thank you. I binded that, charge the battery, but motors not spinning. Can you tell me why, please? This is my first racing drone and I watched much tutorials but It still not working.
Have you tried to arm it using stick commands? Something like moving the left stick down and right, and the right stick down and left (not sure what it is exactly)?
Yes, I've tried sticks comands. When I tried it, red led on control board once blinked. It should shine i think, but I do not know how to do it. And is it normal that the video transmitter is very hot, when I plug the battery?
Yes, it is normal for the vtx to get hot. If you leave it plugged in for too long while not flying, it can overheat. I think your best bet is to just get it set up with betaflight so you can configure things how you want them.
at 10:00 when you start going to the aux switches, i dont have the option aux switches under the factory reset. also i only have aux channels 5 and 6 to set to swa and swb. someone please help.
@@sullythegamer2492 yes ok so the transmitter I got with my eachine wizard x220 was the flysky i6 not i6x and the i6 has less aux switches to be programmed even though theres 4 physical switches when you can only program 2. So I put a 2 way switch on arm/disarm and I put angle, horizon, and air mode on a triple switch and that should be all you need
@@sethbryan9074 How do I set up arm/disarm switch, ive enabled channel 5 to swa i want this to be arm/disarm, and like you said channel 6 swb to switch between the 3 modes
@@sullythegamer2492 ok so from the info you have the switches you want to use all set up on transmitter only. So you would need to set the switch a to be arm and disarm in beta flight. If u need help with that too ask
I don't have an output mode option 9:39 or aux switches option on my I6 10:16 ... anyone else having this issue and does anyone know how to resolve it?
@@RCwithAdam1 2.0 from Aug 2017, so I think that is part of the problem... haha, my unit didn't come with any cables so how do I flash it? also I just have the normal I-6 not the x.
Kelson, after reading the i6 manual ( img.banggood.com/images/upload/2014/04/FS-i6%20Maniac.PDF ) it looks like it is not supposed to have an "output mode" option. BUT, it does mention the "aux channels" option, so there is something wrong if yours doesn't have that. For flashing firmware, you'll need a cable like this FS-100 amzn.to/2SADe1D to connect to your computer, and then go through the flashing process (which I'm not too familiar with right now, but involves downloading drivers and things. I'll let you know if I find a good video tutorial.).
For some reason my controller says its connected but when i move the throttle it dosent do anything ive got the connections soldered on good and im using i bus instead of s bus
