I loved Rainbow Brite when I was little too. Everytime we went to the vhs rental place I got the same movie where Merky Dismal steals all the colors from the animals at the SanDeiago Zoo. lol

Hi Crystal! I love the Big Twist to make hats for my great granddaughters kindergarten class for Christmas! I make every one of them a different color! I'm almost done with the 24 hats that I will send to her teacher. I did this for years for my daughter in laws first grade classes and they were so excited when I got the video of them receiving the hats!! This year, she's a college professor and has a grant for tutoring dislective students in an elementary school so I knitted her 40 hats for her students! I LOVE doing this and this is something useful for the kids!! It gets cold in Indiana and Pennsylvania!!

I use Big Twist a lot. Washes and dries great. Bought some of these colors. I'm making pet paw blankets for favorite doggies on RU-vid. I usually just do paw prints but for Choco the macho Chihuahua doing favorite toys. I'm going to use that green for a frog.....

The Mountain and Lakeside colors are beautiful. Those might be pretty in an afghan in alternating squares like a patwork quilt. The Jack-o-lantern is the prettiest orange variegated Ive seen.

A very cool hat or headband and scarf, or backpack or a bag. Variegated colors will always be nice for accessories!

What a great haul of “everyday,” accessible yarn! It’s so encouraging to see the big box stores upping their yarn game! Though of course they gotta beware of pricing themselves out of their target customers’ desire to pay. I don’t see the green and purple yarn as being halloweeny. I’ve always liked the combination as it’s got a beautiful flowery vibe. 🦋

If you don't think of anything to use the yarn for, Crafty Floridian is collecting 6" squares for Boggy Creek blankets. Kids always like wild stuff and that yarn would probably look cool in granny squares. Just an idea.

Good morning Crystal it's 6:00 in the morning and I'm watching your video. I have most of these yarns you purchased at Jo-Ann's and I agree the red big twist is beautiful. I have the red the green and the purple as for the big twist Halloween yarn I wasn't a big fan of the colors. I think for the witches potion Halloween yarn would make a beautiful pullover sweater or a beanie if paired with a glow-in-the-dark yarn, just a suggestion. I really like those speckled yarns because they would pair well with a solid for effect. All 3 colors are pretty though. 😮😮😮 I have been eyeing that boho yarn❤❤❤❤❤ id love to work with that!

I recently bought some of the speckled yarn from Joann's in the green and blue for an afghan for a gift. I used the galaxy granny - turned out nice.

I just used the mountain side one and I love it ❤ I usually mix black with ALOT of the variegated but I put white 🤍 with it and it looks AMAZING ❤❤❤❤❤ love the Halloween colors ❤❤❤❤

Hi Crystal, I also bought #1 6 big twist Halloween purple for a lapghan, #2 3 lime jelly, 3 cherry mix, for a Christmas lapghan, #3 1 big twist varsity orange, 1 varsity yellow and 3 sunrise ombre for a lapghan. #4 I already made a lapghan out of 7 premier lime pop sweet rolls. These 4 to 5 blankets (I also want to get the #5 big twist blue speckled.) I’m making and giving to boggy creek camp in Florida through Juan and/or Nancy. But I love the colors so much I may have to double up, one for them and one for me! Lol. Thank you for the great reviews, as always!

I made a cardigan, my first actually, out of the Vamp yarn. It turned out great. The yarn worked up great. My yarn did not seem quite as dark though. The reds blended very well, and did not seem too busy at all. I can not wait for it to be sweater weather where I live.

I made a sweater of the witches potion, and I made a dog sweater out of the jack-o’-lantern. I do love Halloween though. Really all fall colors and Halloween colors. You said Caron cake at the same time. I agree completely. Hope you’re having a good evening.❤

Hi, Crystal - I love it when I find variegated yarn that has black in it, and - like you - I like to alternate it with solid black. Variegated yarns look a little busy to me when crocheted, unless you add a solid to offset it. I really love the Big Twist Living variegated yarn in the color "Authentic" because it's a blend of purple, black, gold, and white - the colors of my beloved Baltimore Ravens. I just ordered the same brand in solid purple, hoping it will match the purple in "Authentic." There is a cardigan in my future! Thanks for the heads-up on the Big Twist Halloween yarn - I'll need to check those colors out. (Like I really need any more yarn ...)

Bet I can change you mind on Witches brew! It’s now Buzz Lightyear yarn! I made a few hats with Vampire before I knew it was the Halloween yarn. It came out nice.
