we do this every time to hail in the New Year --- Filipinos believe that fireworks and firecrackers drive away evil spirits and all bad vibes, a seeming exorcism of the negativity of the dying old year, to clear the path for the arrival of the New Year. You may see this spectacular and amassed fireworks display atop a roof, and here in Metro Manila, but this impromptu massive fireworks extravaganza happens almost all throughout the nation. Much more, Filipinos also fire thousands of firecrackers on the streets-- with long lines of firecrackers aptly named, "Judas' Belt" along with hand held Bengal lights Roman Candles, Squibs, etc., fountains, crackling fountains, and to top with that the music fired up to full volume, horns and trumpets blowing, people crying out for the sheer joy of it, and church bells ringing to greet the New Year.
This has to be a Guiness World Record at this point: Largest Fireworks Celebration of a Country in the World. Philippines has one every single barangay, town, city, and province!!! This fireworks and firecracker celebration is nationawide!
The difference between Phil and other countries is the participation of the citizens in welcoming the new year. Fireworks are not concentrated in one area but in the whole neighborhood..it's more fun to watch and be amazed by this spectacular tradition. Welcome 2024 Philippines. GOD BLESS..
Yeah True but the consequences is many had landed to the hospitals because of fireworks injuries and mostly are childrens and drunks😅 but that is the culture of the country!!!
It's the same here in Germany and many other European countries actually - most of the fireworks are from regular people in normal neighborhoods, just like in the Philippines.
@@bornonjuly7052, that is part of the Filipino new year's revelry. We know the risks and we take all the precautions. 💥💥💥
Talk about Fireworks hey....In every country there is one specific area where they showcase their fireworks...In the PHILIPPINES...this is how its done baby!!!...HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!
I miss New Year's celebration back home in the Philippines. It's been awhile since I went back home. There is no place like home and there's no place how we Filipinos welcome the New Year. Happy 2024

They can broadcast the Manila fireworks if you are on the top of the building but, this celebration of fireworks is nationwide, every area in the Philippines has fireworks nuisance everywhere
Even in far away villages. There are neighbourhood who exchange fireworks. And the last one is a bigbang. Up you see gireworks but down on the streets the noise of cars honking is insane. Hahahaha Its everywhere in the Philippines.

Samegoes here in Cebu city.. it's like World War, the sky is lit up with frreworks, not only that but you get noises of trumpets that people blow, cars honking, motorcycles' exhause pipes roaring, metals clanking, karaoke and loud blast stereros, and to think it's the mellow version. Back in the 90s and 2000s, it's way more than that.

I envy the Manila, I'm here in the one of the coldest part of USA and no one is doing fireworks in my neighborhood. My place is so quite now and every one almost sleeping, I'm bored

Just had my first new years outside of the Philippines and it was so tame, albeit the gorgeous fireworks presentation. I miss this chaos! In the Ph, you can really feel the New Year because everyone is making a racket - fireworks, firecrackers, loud music, loud honks, horns and trumpets, pots and pans, empty cans - literally anything that can cause loud noises! And that’s coming from every household because we believe it drives bad spirits away and welcomes good luck! Gosh I miss that kind of celebration.
With an economic growth rate besting its ASEAN peers in 2023, celebrating 2024's entrance for the Philippines is definitely worth the BANG. Mabuhay, Pilipinas!!!
Nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can beat the Philippines in celebrating New Year. Unlike the boring organized fireworks displays in huge, integrated and industrialized countries in the world - the Philippines is one as a nation in observing this momentous experience. Every Filipino have a hands-on participation in memorializing this event. I’m so thriled to be a Filipino.
@@PapaOsmubal.OscarBalajadia I have lived in China, Shanghai and Xian to be exact. They don't celebrate like this, be it Jan 1 New Year or Chinese New Year.
Not only in Metro Manila but all over the Philippines like Metro Cebu, Metro Davao other Provinces celebrated and welcoming New Year 2024 are same scenario Mabuhay Philippines 🇵🇭 best wishes and prosperous New Year 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
I'm pure Davao city girl lapit Lg sa Ky prrd ang houz Malakad Lang old houz nya. Wlang fireworks since bata pa ako.prang 8yrs old ata Pero maingay motorcade at torotot.disco style sa knya2 brangay.

If you are an ofw and you can watch this, surely you will miss our beloved country, the Philippines. One of a kind kung mag celebrate.Walang katulad.Happy new year everyone
Living here in UAE , Told my friends i feel sorry for our dogs whenever its New Years Eve in the Philippines then my foreign friends will ask me why? it literally means Like This ..Like world war 🤣 Where firework displays are not only set in those big and famous venues. In philippines, all Establishments and Filipino Household takes part in this special and most memorable event of the Year. Thanks to your Video this explains a lot to them why? Its been 12 years not celebrating NYE back home and nothing beats my HomeLand.
Same thoughts here. Abu Dhabi may have Sheikh Zayed Festival, Ras Al Khaimah may have the longest organized pyros, Dubai has Burj Khalifa but nothing beats the chaotic, deafening and amazing fireworks and firecrackers in the whole Metro Manila hood. Nakaka miss ang Pilipinas.
What do you get when have unregulated and unsupervised firework use? A piece of ART! This is what we call a "chaotic order". Thousands of people who don't know each other and producing a breathtaking firework display that spans across the city skylines and the entire country. I hope the Department of Tourism would promote this celebration as one of the reasons to visit the country on New Years.
*actually, this has already toned down if you'll compare it before 2010's. back then was 10x more intense, it has just toned down because there's a lot of firecracker related injuries*
It's even crazier once you went to the street. Motorcycle engine noices, firecrackers, homemade cannons (this is illegal btw), horns (hand held, air horn, vehicle horns), pots and cauldron banging, cars dragging steel tubs etc. It's super loud. Still not as crazy as back in the day when firecracker regulation is still loose
