I can't help but agree. I am not as impressed by the flyover as I grew up on Naval Air Stations and am accustomed to having military aircraft overhead. Granted, I haven't lived with that in 28 years and would be more impressed now than I would have been when I was 18-20. But yes, (legal) immigrants tend to be considerably more patriotic than many people born here.

They DO NOT own patriotism, they are NOT head and shoulders above any liberal when it comes to patriotism and love of country, and at the end of the day, it WASN'T liberals who attempted to overthrow the Republic out of blind devotion to an individual rather than devotion to the flag, freedom, and the constitution. If you ask those who died at Belleau Wood, at Normandy, at Khe Sahn, or on any Battlefield on far away shores, if they were Republican or Democrat- I believe they'd say that they're American first and foremost... Yes, it does. Make a wish and the Military made my son who had Cystic Fibrosis made my son's wish come true before he died...Make a Wish Foundation and The Army made it possible for my son and myself to fly on a military (MASH) helicopter, with military pilots and personnel.. (The Military also made my 6 yr old son a Honorary Helicopter Pilot, with his flight wings, fight suit, name tag, America Flag on the sleeve along with a plack with a helicopter his name stating he was a Honorary Military Pilot, of that Military Division)..So when he died at the age of 6yrs 3mons old...When those helicopter pilots, crew chiefs and others involved in my son's life found out of his death... those Military personnel members who became close friends of my little boy over time, some how got permission from the military to be either his Pallbearers, and some of others did a very wonderful thing by doing a Missing Man Flyover at Cemetery where my son body was being laid to rest..it was a surprise to us all because we weren't expecting the flyover..as the helicopters flew over a soldier in the background started playing Taps.... THERE WAS NOT A DRY EYE ANY WHERE.... To this day Everytime I see a flyover..I remember the way I felt that sad day...I felt so much love from and for these men and women who were serving our NATION...but that day they were showing their love and respect towards My little 6yr boy, who they felt were one of them... It made me feel so proud... The day before my son's funeral, the commander asked to pin Master Pilots Wings on my son's body and Crew Chief's wings on my son's Snoopy Dog that was being buried with my so..(My son was never without his Snoopy Dog.. From my son's birth to his death, Snoopy was always with him)... One of the other pilots placed a St Christopher's and a St Michael's necklace around my son neck before his coffin was closed...I was told by the Commander that my son had earned his Master Wings, and that my son would need a Crew Chief to help he on his fight to heaven...Thus Snoopy became my son's Crew Chef... BUT: Long before the death of my son and what took place that day... I've always been VERY PROUD and RESPECTFUL towards those who SERVE and have SERVED, and have DIED in the USA Military for WE THE PEOPLE, OUR NATION, OUR RIGHTS AND OUR FREEDOM....and ALWAYS WILL But on that day those Men and Women who were there showing their love, honor, and respect, towards a little boy that they felt was one of them made me feel that much more respect for USA MILITARY AND THOSE THAT SERVE AND HAVE SERVED AND THOSE WHO HAVE DIED SERVING THEIR NATION... GOD BLESS THEM ALL AND GOD BLESS AMERICA...

I live in Colorado Springs which is the headquarters of the U.S. Air Force and the Air Force academy's football games have had excess of 17 flyovers in one game, with multiple 27 billion dollar extremely rare jets and bombers as well as one time a 54 aircraft flyover. A triangle F-15 formation once flew in so low that it blew all the windows out of the observation decks and all the windows in the stadium. The sheer power of it shakes through your core and there is no feeling like it in the world. I have also been lucky enough to be on the taxiway inside a plane next to a runway where F-22's, F-35's, F-16, and F-15's did max throttle takeoffs into flips and barrel rolls. I will never forget the sight of the purple, blue, orange, and yellow afterburner of the F-22. Simply stunning.

Hi Courtney. Anyone who can experience that and not feel proud and patriotic is probably kneeling at that moment. I have been fortunate to see it more than once. Swell with pride each time. Quick story. My brother was living in Virginia Beach years ago when he was assigned to the amphibious base there and was a member of Seal Team 2. There was also a Naval Air Station in the area that made frequent fly overs of their neighborhood. I was spending a few weeks visiting and some other folks were visiting for a 3 day weekend as well. They constantly complained for a day and a half about the noise and wondered how my brother's family could stand it. Well during a fly over on day 2 when the complaining started again, my brother called to his son who was about 11 or 12 and said hey son what is that as he pointed skyward. Without hesitation my nephew looked up from his homework and said (matter-of-factly) "That's the sound of freedom Dad". Don't think I ever saw my brother as proud and there was not another complaint about the noise of the jets all weekend.

I went to the Rams vs Ravens game a couple of weeks ago here in downtown LA, I think what makes it even more chilling is they arrived while the national anthem is playing so it makes it feel like more patriotic. The coliseum in Los Angeles is basically a bowl so you have four or five of those Raptors passing by, the noise does not go anywhere but down in the stadium. it gets so loud you can't even hear yourself and you feel every single inch of your body tremble. It's honestly an amazing feeling, kinda frightening when you don't expect it

Back in the day, when Myrtle Beach, SC still had an AFB, I was stationed there, (circa 1984 as a jet fuel jockey), and we had an air show featuring the USAF Thunderbirds. They are really quite something to see. You easily get caught up in the precision flying stunts and the information given by an announcer. Just when the he is telling you about the formation of the three jets you see, the fourth, that you hadn't seen for a few minutes streaks by out of nowhere just under the speed of sound--low enough to the ground to feel it shake, (well, that might have just been my knees), and you realize just how quickly you could have otherwise been terminated by something you never saw coming. It truly was one of the highlight of my AF career. The only thing to top it, by far: In '83 Hahn AFB, Germany, I was TDY from Incirlik AFB, Adana, Turkey and was so luck to have been granted an incentive ride in an F-16. I almost lost my lunch on the max climb. Hahn AFB was at the time the first USAFE (United States Armed Forces Europe) base to receive the F-16 Falcon and the first I'd ever been privileged to refuel. Sorry for the story, but I believe you did ask, lol.

Yeah, the Stadium folks will know there is a fly over, as well as maybe the Team Management but very often that info doesn’t trickle down to the Coaches and players, especially the visiting team, and the teams are usually too focused on game planning, so as they said, many times it’s a surprise. To be on Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena CA and feel the ground shake as that big black B2 just races down the parade route is indescribable. Go to an air show and watch the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds and you feel it in your chest a lot more. Just a little knowledge... There are 20,000,000 active duty military members from all countries on the planet; 1,000,000 of them are the American Active Duty Military. We have 1/20th of all active duty military members currently.... As of December 2019 there are 44 active aircraft carriers in the world, 11 of them belong to the United States, each capable of carrying around 80 fighter jets. The American aircraft carriers are the largest and the total deck space of the 11 American aircraft carriers is twice the size of the deck space of the 33 aircraft carriers from the other nations.(and the U.S. Navy also has 9 amphibious assault ships capable of each carrying 20 V/STOL fighter jets). America’s aircraft carriers are used to provide drinking water, hospital space, and power to cities in countries hit by hurricanes and cyclones during recovery and cleanup. The U.S. Air Force has 1,000 aircraft. The U.S. Army has 4,164 aircraft. The U.S. Coast Guard has 200 aircraft. The U.S. Marine Corps has 1,386 aircraft. The U.S. Navy has 2,301 aircraft.
