1981 is like a transition period between the 70's and 80's in terms of music styles,

From what I see, the case of Joy Division had a lot of impact in New Zealand... I remember that Unknown Pleasures was also number 1 that year on the album chart and the most incredible thing is that that month the other 3 weeks number 1 were a album by the cure, post-punk at the top!

6:08 Le groupe Flowers a changé de nom (cette même année 1981) pour se rebaptiser Icehouse et c'est sous ce nom qu'il est devenu connu internationalement. Détail amusant: le 3ème single ("Walls") de leur premier album, ils l'ont sorti sous le nom de Icehouse, ce qui fut le début d'une grande aventure. Sinon, c'est impressionnant, le nombre de styles musicaux représentés sur l'année 1981 et à travers les 240 chansons présentes. A cette époque, les mots "diversité", "éclectisme" signifiaient vraiment quelque chose. En comparaison, il y avait beaucoup moins de styles musicaux représentés à partir de 1995. On peut le dire: c'était vraiment le bon vieux temps en 1981.
