Well done Mr and Mrs Matt. Welcome to the diesel family. A Mate of mine put air bags in the back of his 250 said it helped with the ride. Enjoy the new lifestyle can’t wait to kick the kids out of home and do the same. What a country we live in. It’s the best way to see it. Well deserved keep up the great news. 👏👏👏👍
had a f250 as my work/ field service truck for years and absolutely loved it, never had any problems, except the sensor to have have the clutch down to start messed up once
I hope you keep up the positive attitude. It's so important to living the best life. We just celebrated 50 years marriage and am starting 7 years of retirement. We don't care for camping so it's 2 houses (original for summertime living and the new Arizona house for the cold months). I've got a shop at each place and she's got a craft room at each. It's working well for us. Tell Mrs MM she does a great job filming and editing. Look forward to your video's.
Looking great, a dream of ours we are working towards too. Not as big as you thou. If you come to Perth give us a shout and we could organise a day out wheeling or something :) Safe travels mate and as always looking forward to your content 👍
Awesome set up! Love it! Can’t wait to see where you travel to. Enjoy exploring our amazing country! Keep us all posted. We might bump into near woop woop! 😄
I'm with you 100% Matt, except that in my case I got a 6.6 litre Duramax Chevy 3500 WITH enough grunt to haul the Bushtracker (so about 8.3 tonne combined) up the steepest of hills at the same speed as the other traffic......no slowing down to allow others to pass required.
Nice truck. Perfect for what you are using it for. How about some air bags in the rear? That way you can dial up the stiffness you want depending on the load. With just that trailer I don't think you'd need anything more than the original springs that come with the truck if they were in good shape. Sounds like you said they were a bit worn out, however. That trailer is beautiful. Gonna make life on the road much more bearable.
Hi Matt just saw you have a Kokoda van, we have one as well. We got the 2018 Cadet II XLi Platinum and have been travelling Australia now for 4yrs. We tow our van with a 105 landcruiser. Oh we are known as Travelling 'Long' Time on Facebook and Instagram. Would be great to catch up one day on the road.
thank you for your detailed video great your setup mate done right things buy right setup wish best travel and good hearth as travel around beauty Australia
Maybe you should soften it up. I’ve found tough dog to be good in the past. The Maxxis Razrs are soft on the Bundera so I’m not convinced that’s the issue.
Like you said as an American I've never seen that engine in a Ford. But just by sight and not knowing I thought you had a Cummins diesel engine. Since it has only 4.2L I believe you said, I am curious what kind of gear ratio they put in the axles.
Good to see something that suits you more than the fans. I’ll be interested in an update when you install the jack master. I’ve thought about buying one of these for a long time, not a very common item in the 4x4 scene from what I gather. I honest 3rd part review would be very welcomed. Look forward to more vids. Happy new year
Thanks Daniel. I’m also interested to see how it goes. Been watching some banks performance videos on Amsoil oil tech and it’s fascinating how oil changes.
Thinking about how the truck is set up, you might want to temporarily pull the bullbar off and take it for a drive/tow on one of the tracks that you've had some unpleasantness in as it's currently configured. I suspect that the extra weight that far forward of the front axle combined with the nature of that rear tray isn't helping with the ride. If you don't want to do that kind of work, or at least not initially, see if you can weigh the truck, then weigh what's riding on each axle.
Nice one Matt. So I thought you bought a new place and moved, but seems you didn't. Where do you store the toys? Since you mentioned the winch I wonder what it is. 😉 These big US trucks are getting more popular. I like the RAM's and all the American trucks. I watch TFL and drool over their rigs. They're going electric now which is very interesting.
Awesome rig mate, can’t beat old school. How nerve racking is it buying a vehicle sight u seen. I bought a 05 GUTD42 patrol sight unseen from Queensland and that was a number of sleepless nights till it arrived. Someone who has the appropriate vehicle for towing a large van and it’s safe as houses. All these new utes and SUV’s are defiantly not up to the task of towing large vans. Always concerns me when the towed item weighs more then the car.
I just have the main 144litre tank. It’s possibly all I’ll need. I have starlink and also have a cradle point 4g system. Starlink is still rolling out.
Great work! Do you have a second trailer on the back to bring the 105 along? Does the truck flex? Twin locked? Can it turn in any track? Is it just too big to take off road?
I thought it might have the windshield rake of a US spec pick up truck. Only thing that would make it better is if it were a Ram...JK. What tire pressures are you running at unloaded?
@@MadMatt4WD ok. Was gonna say I running 35 rear and 45 front empty on my Ram 2500 with Toyo MTs. However, I probably could run even lower in the rear unloaded with the muddies. Chalk test shows I could go down to at least 30 psi. I think Thuren says he runs 25 rear on his Ram Cummins. The muddies just have so much sidewall stiffness, and the pick ups are comparatively light in the rear when unloaded. Dual shocks in the rear seems overkill, too. I would think a well tuned single 2.5" diameter shock w res would be sufficient. Anyway, happy to see you trying out something completely different. Will be interested in hearing your trials and tribulations with the new rig.
@@MadMatt4WD hmm, had a customer running big bore 53mm Ralph shocks on a 79 and they were just to big. The ride was harsh. They changed to smaller bore shocks. Im wondering if you could maybe try pulling the shocks forward or rearward of the diff off and taking for a test drive to see if that helps. If ride is to stiff then the springs are obviously to heavy duty for the load.
Interesting. Tough dog is keen to look at it. I also want to make sure the body mounts are right. I’m not prepared to say it’s spring or shocks just yet. This is a kit they’ve made for years and it’s worked well so it doesn’t add up that it’s not right here.
Matt with this crazy market it is most important to have a place to call home. I have friends who sold up and did not have some where to go to when the shit hit the fan. Don’t make that mistake. Enjoy your adventure.
" worst drawers in the world " whilst showing them carrying all your gear. They look a whole lot better than none and for the price comparison they're alright. Hate the way you sponsored people bag out on budget gear, really makes you come across as a jerk and we know you're better than that. As far as the f truck, they are good at what they're made for, loads
You’re welcome to your opinion as am I and I didn’t name the brand or anything but I’ve not had success with these drawers and I’ve bought a few vehicles with them.
