Hi Hvac Budget, thank you for your professional review and support. NexTool appreciate it. As for the product defects you mentioned, like pouch durability and Phillips screwdriver collapse, I would collect and forward to our engineer to check can we do more refine further. (Note: The Nylon sheath already upgrade, Customer will get the more durable nylon sheath.) 😊😊
It's great that you guys listen and seem to still be active! A similar tool brand, Roxon does not respond to messages or feedback. One thing that Roxon did was made the Philips screwdriver full-sized at the end (the shaft was still slim). Maybe the next version of the Flagship can have a full-sized Philips if you combine the can and bottle opener or make part of the frame open bottles instead of one of the tools.
Hello NexTool! I love my Flagship Mini. My #1 request is that the knife get a lock. Without a lock, I don't consider it safe and only consider it useful in the rarest circumstances. The thought of it closing on my hands if I'm absent-minded for a moment is scary! Thank you!
@@alexjeffreys2546 good day friend, thank you for your support and feedback. I would forward your request to our engineer, let's looking forward to further refine.
I’ve been using the flagship mini as my keychain EDC and I love it. Unlike larger multi tools this thing just disappears in my pocket with me keys. Having that capability on me at all times has been invaluable. I’ve also learned that while it is a light duty tool, it is quite capable. I’ve used the scissors to cut rubber hoses, the screwdriver to take screw out of wood and the pliers to take a small nut off a battery terminal. I use this around the office, on handyman calls, and especially at home as a dad.
I agree the "stone washed" look of the NexTool Flagship Pro is very appealing. I love the black oxide look too. Something different makes things a little more fun sometimes. That's great NexTool sent you those multitools, very nice. I really enjoy watching your channel, its one of my favorites along with Mr. Diezelle57 in France. You cover the western hemisphere and he covers the eastern hemisphere. He's closer to Switzerland so he does a lot with Victorinox too. Just so you know I asked him when he stated collecting multitools. He said in 2000 and his first multitool was the Buck Tool 360.
I have the Flagship Mini, not the Mini Pro, but it's the same apart from having textured scales on it. It excels over the Leatherman Squirt PS4 in that it's scissors are extremely capable, also the Phillips SD on it is far more serviceable than that on the Squirt, not just due to it's reach but also it's made from harder steel. If this is a 2D Phillips, the Squirt has a 1D Phillips, which gets burred every time you use it. By the way Maxlvledc did a comparison of scissors and rated the Mini Flagship scissors as the best out there. On the other hand I do prefer the form factor of the Squirt, it is about half the bulk and weight and sleeker and nicer looking, and the file on the Squirt is far better and can be used as a saw with soft materials like aluminium and plastic as well as wood, in a pinch.
8:40, I've seen there's one export version of the full size Flagship specifically states it lacks locking mechanism for both blades. Presumably for this reason.
I’ve noticed in the EDC pocket knife world, a lot of the OEM’s have been sending their knife products with an extra packet of screws. That’s great that they’re including extra cutters. All the others need to take notes.
This was my first “real” multi tool. The Flagship pro is a solid poor man’s Leatherman Signal. There was no issues with mine, only the size vs functions were lacking. Just 2D Philips etc. I would go with the Nextool black knight version if the replaceable cutters are not a priority. But they are still a reasonably good tools. I planning to buy a mini for my Rebar.
A ja wlasnie kupilem nextool mini flagship i bede go nosić zamiast scyzoryka Rambler od Victorinox. Mam wiele scyzoryków Victorinox, ale ten multitool ma to czego potrzebuję codziennie w kieszeni.Do niego w komplecie Bugout 535 i wystarczy.A w weekend od swieta bede nosic Victorinox Waiter i nextool mini pocket knife.
Bought The green Mini flagship Pro. Why did they change The knife? Its another version, and im sad to say, that it dosnt come very Sharp out of The package. It cant even Cut paper. Love The scissors!
Great review. It’s all fun and games until a non locking tool collapses on your hand! Also, I think that textured grippy scales should be standard. That’s a great thing to see on the mini. Adds just a bit more stability to the grip of the [often] slippery finish on multi tools. I pinched my hand in my Wave Plus yesterday. Now I don’t want to buy another MT without some sort of grip on the scales. I mean stainless looks so good but at what cost?
I find the Mini to be a very hand tool to keep at my desk. The tool set comes in very handy. The Pro though, I just don't have a use-case for it. May need to get one just because it's kind of cool, but the tool set is not right for my needs. Great overview, thank you!
I have the flagship mini and I love it, the only problem With it was the blade, it came dull and the angle was off, other than that, great mini multitool
Hi sir, thank you for your review, really great comparison between these to Nextool. I've been using Gerber Crucial for almost 8 years, now I'm looking for multitool that small enough to carry everyday. Too bad this mini Nextool doesn't have lock mechanism and the pro version is way too big.. So, what would you recommend for mini multi tool like Gerber Crucial? Thank you, sir! Have a great day!
The SOG PowerPint or the SOG Flash MT are going to be good options with a locking blade. Pretty much every other small multi tool will not have locking tools in this 5oz weight class.
Firstly I'd to say that the Flagship Pro's knife is the same as my Splitman. But I've got to say that if a multitool company gives you spare parts for it that does say customer care to me. Speaking of parts Böker (I think that's how you spell it) do a build your own knife advent calendar, have you heard of this and do you have an opinion? Great video as always 👍
😪did not get the free cutters, but it a great tool, scissors are the best in the market, knife is great, thick, and razor-sharp.. yes its big but having a clip makes it very doable, I stopped purchasing any large tool if it doesn't have a clip, no exceptions... And I won't wear a sheath anymore.. I have many edc, leathermans, sogs, ect, But at work I carry the Gerber suspension nxt. It's the toughest I've seen for its size and price, knife is just OK, scissors do cut well, but all the other blade are the thickest and toughest I've used, they can take a good twisting and a prying, the flagship pro blades are thinner, the Phillip is only 2D. When a tool is that big and packing that much I recon they can't be all that thick, I carry the pro when not at work, it's a great tool, in my opinion it not really a budget tool, other tools are just over priced, Wal-Marts multiforce may compare with the pro, it another tool that people underestimate due its lower price, its called the wave killer for a reason, cause it is...I believe in made in the USA, but I also believe in fare value for my hard earned money, don't let the lower price fool you, you'll see and feel the quality, it's in there,, you won't go wrong buying the flagship pro, it really is a great and great looking tool, so well worth it,,, since I carry everyday, no need for Keychain tool even though i have some, but you guys should insist that your wife, girlfriend, daughters carry one....on there key ring!!.. buy them one...put it on... OH, P.S. mulitools are the best friggest there is,,,,,.And who don't love E.D.C. Talk????
Good day Friend, we totally agree the point that you get what you paid. As for the Flagship Pro we sale on Amazon, the sliver did not with free cutter replacement, but the dark color did with. We believe Flagship Pro would not let you down.
That Phillips driver on the hook cutter has nothing to do with good engineering. The way it collapsed onto your knuckle is the opposite of “fail safe”. A very poor design.
