I would add that even if you are a backup QB the refs will let the D just tee off on you, look at the Jet’s Mike White, they literally put him in the hospital from rib shots
@@deejaykindred7029 I'd have to agree. Mike White got destroyed that game and I was surprised when they didn't call roughing the passer, cause some of the hits on him justified a penalty call.
I honestly think/ hope that this off-season they’ll discuss the roughing the passer calls, they should be able to be challenged, just like pass interference
@@keanandarnell8709 I'm aware of that but the way the refs are officiating games I'm shocked. If i was a NFL player all the money that I'd have made would be going to charity via NFL fines🤣
@@Kingkai-go8ib Most definitely would see a lot of mistakes and I get that everyone makes mistakes but this season there's been so many head scratching mistakes and it's baffling.
The running into the kicker call in the second clip was correct. The punter rolled out, and because of that doesn't have the same protections. That was an amazing call, and really surprised that they noticed.
@@nightskyedits8886 It doesn't because he essentially became an active runner after those steps. Because you have to remember you can punt the ball away from anywhere on the field.
Wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait. You’re telling me Blandino thought a catch against his beloved Cowboys wasn’t a catch? I’m shocked! The only thing worse than Blandino as a tv rules analysis was Blandino as VP of officiating. Where he “chose” to “resign”.
These clips are the exact reason I can no longer watch football. I'm so tired of these officials affecting the outcome of these games with their horrible calls or non calls. And who knows if there are any consequences for them. Glad to see a video pointing a lot of these out.
Yup... everything you said plus all the woke foolishness that goes with every game? Just gets old now... I'd rather be fishing. 🎣 Plus, don't you even dare to LOOK at a QB these days!
@@cjoliver7871 all right I was going to say you and I were watching two different plays, but the rest of what you said makes total sense. You're a biased fan with no major respect for the sport.
@@cjoliver7871 A) You proved my point about you not respecting football at all. B)Yes, I am a Hawks fan, have been since 2011. C) I can at least admit when my team makes a mistake, like Tyler being flagged for a false start. That was a good one. D) Who has a Superbowl ring in the last ten or so seasons? And E) No bro/girl, the officiating was not good in that one, as you're beloved team jumped offsides. I don't buy it was a neutral zone infraction, because he did get back to the line, but he should have been flagged for offsides, and Seattle should have gotten a free play. Or if it was a false start, a five yard flag and a replay on downs. Anything else?
The fact that they called roughing the passer on Herbert, but no flag on the hit and face mask on Pickett is bonkers. I know Pickett was a runner, but I feel like that gets calls all year regardless
You just know watching this every week, that a roughing the passer call is going to determine who ends up going to the super bowl. It’s gonna cost someone a game in the playoffs
Me trying to understand how these are calls while thinking about QB from the Jets, I believe his name is Mike White, getting folded in half and mailed to the hospital.
@@Kiisaesqthere were also a few false starts that should have been called on the Seahawks O-Line. Horrible officiating on both sides of the ball. Seattle got the sour side of it though 🤦🏻♂️
5:23 This should have been a Touchdown. There also should have been a face mask on Cousins My Vikings got Screwed by the referees and we may have won if not for that.
One day I hope the NFL either adds a challenge flag and make it so you can challenge a no-call, or that they start reviewing replays even more, either way no-calls literally cost games and there’s nothing you can do.
That roughing the passer call was 100% a BS call. Even as a charher fan i dont ahree with it. The whole stadium was booing at that call and rightfully so
NFL refs are so bad. I understand these are low-lights but the fact that any of these calls/non-calls happened is a travesty. I also hate the roughing rules. You can’t even breathe on QBs anymore as a defender, but you are allowed to, as an owner, make players play on terrible fields that constantly increase their risk of injury.
There should not have been only 1 play from the Giants game. There were countless poorly called fouls in that game, and probably 5k yards in uncalled unsportsmanlike and taunting between the 2 teams. Flags thrown on anything subjective (roughing, interference, etc) must be automatically reviewable. And the unsportsmanlike/ taunting situation needs to be addressed. Until players drop/hand-off the ball and return to the huddle as a matter of automatic course, any officiating crew recording less than 600yds of fouls per game (20x 15yd penalties for conduct per side) in 2 consecutive games need to be suspended for review and retraining. Also, any of those penalties that are not currently being assessed need to be toward disqualification. And the league rule needs to be that disqualification from a game, for any reason, must incur a penalty of: -Rest of (post) season suspension -next season suspension -surrender of all salary/pay due after the game of ejection, until the remainder of season + one full season suspension is completed. No back pay -Lastly, in addition to suspension without pay, there is no appeal afforded. These rules need to be implemented such that officiating staff are on notice about their undercalling games, but not privy to what those effect of their action might be. Maximal penalty application for anything not directly a football move needs immediate approval in favor of no disclosure given she is not there much if at all. Lastly, with congressional help dissolving the NLRB and revoking the NLRA, any players relying on illegal “collective bargaining” to reach the ultimate resolution.
There are so many things wrong with the NFL today (including, but not exclusive to officiating) that it's probably beyond hope, but definitely good for a few laughs on Sunday.
This is what happens when you have guys in their 50’s and 60’s trying to keep up with the speed of the game played by elite athletes in their 20’s and 30’s
10:02 if you play it in 0.25 speed it does look like the defender jumped first by like 1 frame so I'd say it's a good call. That being said, in real time it'd be way too hard to overturn the original call but I do think it's the right one. Edit: The receiver may have started to lean forward slightly beforehand.
I hate the refs too BUT you cannot be so arrogant as to ignore the fact that not all of the facemasks that get missed were even in view of the refs field of vision, we simply don't know and can't tell. Also, the refs might be looking at something else, something else that could also potentially be a penalty. And there's not much you can do about that if that ref is also the only one with a clear line of sight to the facemask.
@@Zortbrain I'm sure they have and I'm not disagreeing with that, I'm just saying it may not always be as clear cut to them as it is to the fans especially at home. There are too many factors to cleanly say anything concrete.
@@evangalinsky2499 I understand that, but some of them should be clear cut when the helmet is getting turned between 45 to 90 degrees. Plus, they've been missing them a lot more this season than they did last season. I feel like refs this season have been doing much worse at their job than the replacement refs did that one season
@@Zortbrain my point cannot be more clear than this: if there is a physical object or body in front of your view, you cannot see these things. People are not accounting for this, and it's stupid.
Love your videos, but you need to rewatch the Browns Bengals game. There is a series where the Oline for the Bengals has a false start 4 times with no calls. That crew was making up for past sins against Cinci on Sunday.
refs need to be held accountable for bad calls. How many of them couldve shifted the flow of the game? They have such a god complex that they can call anything they want and not get punished for it
Absolute WORST possible week to play the Chargers. They lose that game, they’re probably out of the playoffs and the NFL misses out on that sweet LA playoff revenue. What an obvious work.
Legit thought they were going to say something about implementing a 2-hand-touch rule for quarterbacks on the Herbert play. Really seems like that's where things are going
Exactly. I am a Rams fan, but I agree with the no call here. I also agree with the other call, to an extent. Obviously, he was pushed into the returner, BUT it was his grabbing the returner in a bear hug that was the penalty.
I'm not even a raiders fan, but that whole fucking game felt so rigged. It was like the rams could've shot a raider, and the refs would've ignored it. But if the raiders exhaled past the neutral line, flags everywhere. But hey, whatever it takes to get baker Mayfield in the news and make him feel good
The fact they pick and choose the roughing the passer calls to enforce is annoying rookies getting concussions while u can't even breathe on Brady or mahomes
