The NFL has more interference by referees than any other professional game... and often makes horrendous calls, I don't really know how fans put up with it.

If you get there and make a call people don't like, remember to be like Hannibal Buress and go, "Why are you booing me? I'm right"

As a Packers fan, I am so used to getting additional help from the refs and having our wins scrutinized because of it that I don’t know how to react to winning a game IN SPITE of the refs. It feels really good.

Honestly it has been worse. Most of these are not blatantly obvious, especially in real time. If we take the ones out that can be flags but don’t have to it’s only half. If we take the ones out that are really hard to see in real-time it’s only a handful.

The "controversial" part is what the announcers were saying about the ball breaking the plane. It really would make a lot of sense to standardize that bit one way or the other.

@@seneca3083 Well said, if breaking the plane is good for a touchdown(where even the name implies you have to touch it down lol) then it should be the same for something like that punt, nearly a third of the ball broke the plane but because its an prolate spheroid it didnt touch.

Yeah the Bills game pissed me off so bad bc we lost due to a few bad calls, definitely felt like the refs were favoring Miami. I wonder if there’s a good way to fix this without hiring hitmen to beat up the refs in back alleys if they make bad calls

in that ravens game nothing was called on the pats side. there was pI holding Pi personal foul . unsportsmanlike conduct when the two defenders kept Matthew slater in the outbound. Those ref worked for Lamar and Baltimore. if those was called pats would of won that hands down.

They got rid of "surviving the ground" in 2018 man. Securing the ball while down inbounds (either two feet or any body part but the hands) and "an act common to the game" ("tuck the ball away, extend it forward, take an additional step, turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent") are the only requirements for a catch, which were clearly met. The real debate was whether or not the ball actually crossed the goal line before Kelce was downed- it was extraordinarily close. An argument could be made even based on the old rules Kelce established possession with two steps and a football move - and if he had already established possession outside the goal line and the ball crosses, the play would be immediately dead and he wouldn't have to survive the ground.

He never secured the catch and 'caught' the ball until at the end maybe, still ball was rolling around the whole time and ended up losing it in the end. Never caught it.

@@Masta-Blasta yes but it's one of those plays where there's not enough evidence to overturn it. If it would have been called incomplete on the field and the play was challenged then the play would have stood because thats what was called on the field and there wasn't enough evidence to overturn it one way or the other

@@silverking8742 If I can see he didn't catch it, and you can see he didn't catch it, and others i've talked to or listened to discuss this play can see he never caught it; how is there not enough evidence to overturn it.

@@Masta-Blasta I never said that he didn't catch it. He clearly caught it then had 2 feet down and made a football move towards the goaline and then the ground caused the ball to come out. Ruling on the field was a completion. If the ruling on the field was an incompletion then that also would have stood. It's one of those plays that's so close that it could go either way.

The ball was in at least 6 different distinct positions during that "clear" "catch" from the moment it touched his hands to the moment it touched the ground and at no point was it controlled. As Romo said, when his shin touched the ground (meaning he was down) the ball didn't cross the plane, so even if he caught it (he didn't) they didn't (or shouldn't have) converted.

Uh no there's a difference between a stiff arm and a face mask. Derrick Henry has literally done that same play multiple times and never gets called because it's a stiff arm. The defender on the other hand grabs Mahomes face mask and tries to wrench his head to the side.
