That’s why I only watch highlights like these. The NFL is trash. It’s been going downhill for a while now in terms of viewing enjoyment and it just keeps getting worse each year.
The first one was roughing the passer because you can't pull a QB down after he threw the ball the commentators are a dumbass. It stupid to say roughing the jersey. The ball was way out of the QB hands and the defense just grab his Jersey and threw the QB to the ground
@@terminator23destroyer15 I mean yeah he used like 2 fingers to pull him down but he was probably just trying to catch himself and he didn't jerk him or pull him into the ground. There was nothing aggressive or intentional about it.
I love how refs call the dumbest roughing the passer and taunting calls, and yet they don't call the obvious facemasks and they don't even review the interception! Refs are are worse than my gpa rn!! C'mon!
Remember that bullshit roughing the passer call on the Falcons against brady Holy fuck that was horseshit guy literally executed a textbook legal safe tackle used his arms proper technique and instead of landing on Brady he spun him slightly so they both landed on their sides
FYI every interception is reviewed, they have a whole team dedicated just to watching replay during the game, replay looked inconclusive. Final note there were two penalties in Jacksonville that the broadcasters missed during the replay these refs are making split second decisions.
I love that when there’s actual helmet to helmet contact with the qb, there is 0 roughing the passer penalties. But when you do something as harmless as tug on a jersey, the refs have enough.
Coaches should be able to throw a challenge flag on ANY field ref bad call. Send it to booth review so that a senior ref in an isolation booth can check it. If the senior ref's call doesn't match the field ref call, there is no foul on the play.
The NFL are talking about this apparently and they could possibly change it so coaches can challenge any call. Unfortunately they can only change the rule at the end of the season so if it does happen you'll have to wait till next season :(
They tried something like that with PI calls, The person reviewing NEVER overruled a call. Something would need to be done to avoid that scenario happening again. Personally I just want better explanations as to Why a call was made
@@scalybruce7723 If it is staged they're doing a piss poor job of it. How many bones break in the WWE each year? Now factor in that they do about 300 shows in a given year, and translate that to how many injuries happen on a football field? If they're faking it, they should go back to actually playing because that's apparently safer.
If I had a nickel for every time that the refs have called Roughing the Passer for the smallest of touches I'd have about eight nickels. Which IS a lot, and frankly it's weird that this has happened so many fucking times.
Regarding the Giants and Jags game, you could do an entire video on the bad calls in that game. To be fair though, Daniel Jones on a run earlier decided to take advantage of the defense not hitting him, giving him the safe out of bounds run and he decided to take it up the field after being unsportsmanlike and pretending he was going to run it out of bounds. You can't have your cake and eat it too. That hit was 100% legal with his previous run taken into consideration.
I know in college football for example fake sliding is illegal frankly if you fake slide or pretend to run out of bounds you should get cleets right into your calf from a slide tackle
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 Well now it is after the Kenny Pickett run last year. They just changed that rule due to his run. I think in the Daniel Jones case, it was more of him messing up his slide (maybe something with that knee brace the announcer mentions) but I think it looked worse than it was.
@@R2d2US it was late as hell and technically he was not down all the way I could at least see an argument for that non-call but some of the others were horrible again this week.
Try as they might, those refs REALLY wanted the Jags to win... too bad the G-men said otherwise! Normally we lose games cause of crap like that, but not this season!
@@georgejohnson8674 they are the reason that drive even kept going, giants got a pick on a play they called illegal hands to the face which was no where to be found
@@andrewp5712 it was a very slight smack to the face on the initial bump. was it accurate? yes. was it an actual penalty? no. But then again, we have seen that same bad call like 5 times this season so
@@andrewp5712 it was on 24 lol on Evan. The corner tried to jam off the line but hit his helmet. The announcers legit forgot everything about what the refs called
@@krazydudejayy4512 I’ve seen worse not getting called, slayton was hit above the shoulders on a route while the ball was going to him no call. Was also a 3rd and long situation. That crew was horrible
The title is what happened to me in one of my games. I was playing a game and then when I was on defense, I snuck through the gap and got a fumble recovery. I was excited because it was my first one. I got up and put my arms into a V shape to show the sidelines. They were cheering and clapping. Then, the referees called a “five yard penalty” because I was celebrating “too much.” The same thing happened to one of my teammates when they got a touchdown, they celebrated and then they took away the touchdown.
We should protect all of these players. Fire them, the coaches, the refs, the stadium personnel and the owners, and let's just watch two computer teams play each other on Madden. It's the only way to be safe.
You should do them on some college games too like Purdue vs Wisconsin where they called a Purdue TD and replay showed it a full yard short of the endzone and they still called it a TD after replay review. One of the worst most horrible calls ever!
Oh yeah. We need college football as well. Can't wait to see how many times pac-12 refs pop up. Utah USC was a mess. Also USC fans need to get over their loss. The calls didn't kill em. They almost saved em.
Back in 1997 my friend and I used to debate who was tougher. Hockey players or football players. I had the vhs tape called “crunch time”. He had his vhs of hardest hockey hits. Mfs are being knocked unconscious in hockey now and the announcers go from hockey commentator to UFC tale of the tape guys now. It’s awesome, I love it.
The penalties are literally right in front of a ref staring directly at them and they still aren’t called right. It’s like the refs are thinking about finishing House of Cards finally and not the game
3:42 if the facemask had actually been called there then Matt Ryan doesn't throw the pick six next play since they'd be down inside the 15 and run a different play. If that happens, the Colts still may turn the ball over, but have a much better chance of getting at least 3, which would've changed the end score to 13-12 and possibly a Colts win. It sucks to see how much one bad call can change a whole game.
facemask calls in general have been missed all season. I do not think I have seen one called that should have been, but the illegal hands to the face keeps getting half billing.
People are waking up to how the NFL is point shaving for Vegas and standings. NFL is legally classified as Entertainment and NOT a Sport. Point shaving is a crime if classified as sport but not as Entertainment. You cant keep explaining away all of these blatant calls on scoring or critical plays. The NFL could WWE every game and it would be perfectly legal. It would not be legal if it were classified as a sport. I've seen enough calls to know it's rigged and it's getting so bad it's becoming unwatchable.
It's gotten to the point where every call made on the field should be reviewed in the booth immediately. So many BS calls are changing games and it doesn't seem to be getting any better as the season goes on.
I like the idea of the refs getting together to discuss a penalty call.... but I am highly suspicious that they are getting help by sneakily looking at the big screen or getting info from the ear piece
@Robert Reital very true, but also why have refs and just let some people in the booth call every single penalty they observe on screen... its supposed to be refereed by human, not 13k ultra zoom robot cameras
The fact that Lawrence looked at the ref for a call is just a sign with how absolutely ridiculous the league is becoming with these 'roughing the passer' nonsense calls
there was movement on the left side of the browns, but it should have been offsetting or just on the ravens. its so slight its not enough to get the dude swimming across the ball on the other side of the formation.
I'm surprised only the "false start" from the Cleveland game made it into this comp...you could mostly put the entire last 3 minutes of the game in here.
That Dallas Detroit game was something else call-wise. At one point that were arguing over whether Detroit scored a td (the pile-on was knocked over) they said it wasn't a TD then they marked them at like the 3 or 4 yard line. It was insane!
Are you (as the center) allowed to reposition the ball before the snap? No.4 clearly lifts the ball off the ground and then..puts it back down? I played D line and was always told to keep your eyes on the ball. It moves, you move. Can someone provide context?
You know sports fans its starting to suck when every time your team has a good play you have to hold your breath and scan the tv screen to see if a flag was thrown .
If you are a centre or long snapper, you are no longer allowed to put your head down to see where you are going to snap the ball. According to the refs that is 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I never understood the controversy surrounding the Diggs pick. Every angle they showed he had clear possession of the ball, hands underneath it, all the way through without a doubt.
Ya I’m starting to think they are making up calls every week. Cuz in the raiders and Chiefs game there was the terrible Chris jones rouging the passer and then later in the game there was defensive holding while butter was kicking a field goal so it’s like whatever at this point.
the only good thing - if you can even talk about it - is that they are generally so bad, that in the end of the season neither team was really disadvantaged...hopefully.
The Colts-Titans facemask penalty and non-penalty was demoralizing as an already deflated Colts fan. That is 30 yards of bullshit. We don't need help losing games.
Ironic how commercials during the game talk about technology but it's barely used during the game.... Game changing, season deciding mistakes by refs should be overruled by people in NY.
There have also be a lot of suplex tackles right in front of the ref even out of bounds that don't get called. Yet look at the qb funny and catch a roughing the passer.
Those bad calls helps NFL ratings. You know like on fake Pro Wrestling WWE, when a wrestler cheats but the Ref acts like he does not see it because he was distracted by someone on the sidelines.
He wasn't when they got tangled up, he started playing the ball after he caused him to trip. If you think that should be a no call that will become an easy way to defend any longer passes, just tangle their feet "on accident", right?
It's getting to the point where these calls are actually effecting the game in a sizeable way. More than one blown call in a big need to win situation that makes fans think the refs caused a loss. There's so many blown calls in a game that its changing the game.
it was a ticky tacky call thats not called like 70% of the time. it hit him, but no grab and didnt alter his head with the strike so it should have been a no call.
