Francis Ngannou was a host on the JRE MMA Show #146 with Joe Rogan and he shared some details about his time with the UFC! #Ngannou #JRE #JoeRogan #joeroganexperience
I think they do it differently with every fighter and Joe is just letting Francis explain it so Joe isn't in trouble with the UFC for saying it himself.
Truth is Francis was a money hungry egomaniac. His coaches said this and ufc staff said the same. Ufc offered him 8 mill to fight Jon. But Francis wanted more money. He also said he wanted health care for fighters and doing this for morals not money. Turns out he didn’t care about health care and signed for money 😂😂😂
you have the comprehensions kills of a middle schooler, this is actually concerning. This sport is way to volent for your a kid your age anyway, stop watching it for now until you grow up
I'm gonna say something EXTREMELY controversial and provocative. But that's because he's a real African. Africans from my experience are either highly educated and hard working, or super motivated and most of them are very gentle. They have a beautiful beautiful culture. Sad I can't say the same for American black folks. Look at Jon Jones. I rest my case.
This is a man that stands on his principles. Coming from nothing he knows he is a good man and works hard. He knows his worth and will work hard for whoever pays him. Dana is out of touch
This fool got an opportunity of a lifetime by Dana and then starts acting likes he’s the greatest thing for the ufc while not wanting to take fights. Stop it with the hypocrisy.
Well ya that because he stole the money and didn't ever pay it back . Ask Ciryl Games trainer and Francis trainer who put up few cos for years free and he stole and never paid him back .
@@humanactivated1017agree, ask him why where are all the people who help you get to where he’s at ? 🤔 tired of hearing about this guy as a victim, he has burned many more to get to where he’s at today, and if it wasn’t fir the UFC you would even know who this guy is. What a loser
Never deserved the hate he got for leaving UFC. Dana was saving face by acting as if Ngannou was scared to fight Jones. In reality Francis was done with Dana playing games. He knew he deserved more and knew the UFC wasn’t going to give him that. He proved to us that the UFC lies a lot and are dishonest.
It’s crazy this soft spoken, genuinely nice guy is still arguably the baddest man on the planet. Still legitimately bummed we’ll never see the Jon jones fight. One of the biggest what ifs in combat sports history.
well that's why he ain't ever gonna get paid the big bucks. because he is a genuine nice guy. that shit ain't entertaining so you ain't making the big bucks. he needs to be more brutal and promote himself better.
a giant feels less fear than a small man, that usually makes small men more agressive and bigger man less agressive, also big and small dicks have an impact, it's all very instinctive wired into our DNA
I hope this man shocks the world for a number of reasons. This man suffered to be where he is at this moment of his life. I wish him nothing but abundance of wealth and good health.
He won’t shock anybody if u talk about boxing. There is levels between someone who’s been doing it for whole life and someone who’s started at 20+ (and to top it off we talking about the elites of elites - heavyweight boxing fucking champion of the world)
@@tatianab8406 tyson should step in the mma cage if he wants to shock the world.....for francis just being in the boxing ring is a shock and awesomeness
Do well? HE STILL Hasn't had a fight? now he's entering a sport to cash a bag? He really has a small chance of winning.. He had the chance to be the greatest UFC heavyweight ever & now he will be known as the former MMA champ who tried to switch to boxing? (I don't wanna talk smack saying he will loose, but no man born from a mother cunt can beat Tyson Fury, IF Wilder couldn't get it done? WHAT realsistic chance does this guy have? He is a VERY VERY inexperienced version of wilder.. Wilder caught him once, in the 12th? & it wasn't enough.. in 3 fights. We all know he's not OUT BOXING Tyson, he has to knock him out or he looses, wilder 'COULD' have won on points even, because he's a boxer )
@@f.miller801is a “brother” a black person? I honestly hope not. Because that’s some of the mustiest things the system has done to black people. Calling each other “brother” thinking that the rest of the races are not also human. Pathetic segregation and blacks, or most pressed races, are easiest to fall victim to this system. Again, I’m hoping that the “brother” meant another fellow humans being.
Nothing but props to this Cameronian bro this man Francis is genuinely a good man . The guy did the hardest work to get where he is and don't take shit for granted. Stay humble Francis the payday your gonna get for Tyson fight you deserve every dime brother good job Francis.
Powerful how he said he can live out of nothing, weather he is rich or poor he is not bothered. Tells you alot about what type of a person he is, not so many people can be comfortable with whatever , that now is character 💪🏿 💯
@@angeldaroseli3031 Fighting the best in the world and getting paid well under a mil a fight. Compared to boxing that is actual chump change. The UFC is in a Lawsuit against 1,200 fighters for underpaying and neglecting them. Isn't new news
It's disgusting how only certain high-ranking fighters get the big multi-million dollar paydays. Francis was the champion and should be realistically set up financially. Dana is a vile human being
Indeed but that's the fight business. UFC reported on several occasions that WWE influenced them too and that's also entertaining business. Francis was just not that interesting nor he knew how to promote himself.
And you’re delusional. Dana isn’t “vile” you’re literally just sensitive and delusional about the topic 🤦🏻♂️ criminals who hurt people physically are “vile”. Government politicians who rob your society of trillions are “vile”. There is no UFC without Dana White. The whole of MMA would have fizzled out into dysfunctional weak organizations like the PFL and Bellator. It would have collapsed in on itself. And the PFL basically only exists thanks to the hype the UFC has created for MMA with Dana White at the helm. I like Francis, but he is Awful at promoting himself and does ZERO WORK to promote anything. He goes on a few podcasts. But that’s literally just 2 hours out of ONE day of the year 🤨 that’s hardly doing real promotional work period. The guy expected the UFC to do all the work when he gave them not a single thing to promote him about. Just being a good fighter isn’t enough to compel a wider audience to watch and pay 60-70 bucks for a PPV. You need to create a connection and present yourself so that the audience can make that connection.
Its not about fighting - its entertainment. You want to make money you have to sell the fight. That means high social media reach and generating interest promoting the fight. Its business and so many fighters are not business men - they assume a child to parent relationship
Slowing down the contact process when you know fighters are tight for money and you don’t want them to renegotiate is dirty, that’s not honouring the deal already made , backing them into a corner and limiting their options.
If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything is probably my favorite quote of all time. Also joe knows way more about Dana then we could ever dream of knowing. I’m sure there’s more reasoning behind joe saying he leaves when Dana leaves in his contract other than friendship.
yeah but 99,99% of the 1st world don't actually stand for anything. most people are just sheeple that follow the heard and do what ever is the most trendy and popular.
@@jrjl89you’re a casual you’re genuinely a straight up casual if you say that 😂😂 and i don’t call people casuals but you know literally nothing, be quiet
@@GelusssI don't think his point has anything to do with how much you watch. He stated an objective fact that FN makes less than JJ or CM because he draws less eyes by not talking crap or stirring controversy. You could never have watched a single fight and know this to be true on the numbers alone.
As a Cameroonian like Francis now based in the US, trust me, credit cards are our kryptonite, We were raised that "Debt is Trouble" ONLY in America I see people being proud of having 50k credit limit 🤣
Same here, however it's entirely encouraged. When a lot of the economy is based around market housing prices...and you won't realistically be able to buy a home without good credit rating. And how do you get a good credit rating ? By going in debt 😂😂 It's so damn predatory
I had one credit card in my life. I'm a 40 year old Canadian of British ancestry. The credit card I got when I was 20. Didn't pay attention to what I was spending. My limit was $1000. I called and asked for my limit to be raised to $1500. They said no. Then afterward, without my permission they raised my limit to $6000 and I racked up debt without realizing it because I made a mistake and didn't pay attention to what I was spending vs what I was paying off. My mistake. But that company knew what they were doing by raising the limit without telling me. Once I paid it off I swore to never have a credit card again. And I never have. Credit cards are soft slavery. Now I buy everything other than my house and car with cash. If I don't have the cash, I don't get the thing I want. If I haven't earned it then I shouldn't get it, that's life. I'm with you, brother. Credit cards are a blight on humanity.
The ufc would be nothing without its fighters. Absolute disgrace and I can’t wait to see the other promotions overtake them in terms of prestige and exposure
@mtmta2009 lol no one thinks the UFC should not pull a profit but they earn a profit on the fighters backs so the lions share should go to the fighters after overhead is removed and currently unless your named Mcgregor that does not happen so much and the Dana White privelage is real if he arbitrarily doesnt like you then you get treated like might mouse maybe the greatest of all time where he had to go public to even get his championship belts from the UFC let alone fair pay or Ngannu or your can be Colby covington who he likes not fight in forever beat no one of import for years and be walking into a title shot. the company for sure bullies fighters.
@mtmta2009 that's why most businesses have giant class action lawsuits out against them by their employees for unfairly suppressing wages? Or is that something that just specifically has to happen here and that's why it's fine? 🤔
@@dillonoickle5841overhead only? Do you not know how a business works? Especially this one? How does it preform so well? Because they invest in the business.. that is why they are so big now. They don’t just collect and pay out after their net to fighters, they invest which keeps things new and eyes coming fight after fight… fighter pay is stupid.. look at the top guys they are grateful and monetize their position
Of course Joe knows how it works, still I think Joe has the right approach to letting Francis clarify himself so people can judge themselves and at the same time not criticize the company he works for
so what he is saying is accurate to the podcast? The first 2 mins looked edited asf. His eyes position and arms position change dramatically word by word of his dialogue.
@@Jim_is_Burningtbh it's not about understanding it, and i like Francis fights but the dude hit these dead bodies so hard, yeah technically you continue the fight until the referee stop it, but when the guy is clearly out what's the point of hammering him so hard, i feel it's just Francis enjoying it 😂
Wow man... the "borrowing money for training camp" thing is really sad and infuriating. Moreover the fact that it was stated by a huge UFC star, HW champion and the world record strongest/hardest punch holder. All those accolades and still underpaid....
Dude looks GREAT. Im sure his leaner stature is going to translate to more fluid movement. Huge credit to the people that have faced him. The Overeem KO was frightening.
Most of the UFC’s roster grew up white trash conservative, so they’re never going to unionize. Because it’s better to be a spineless kiss-ass carrying water for the elites than being a gay commie or whatever.
@@DGillian6406 I’d say he learned how to manage nothing living in a third world country pretty well. Taxes and training camp fees alone eat up over 60 percent of a fight purse. A guy that’s HW champ should not be having to take what’s the equivalent of a payday advance
Dana White is a JOKE..... The way he gives his "personal favorites" (Lesnar) the keys to the store while holding back LEGITIMATE fighters is almost criminal.
Rich & successful and responsible for growing the sport far beyond anyone else, and giving us the best and biggest promotion with the best fighters. I wish i was "a joke".
@@mohammodmashud6747 Colby can hang with his division without PEDs. Internet hate for Dana is real. He is not in charge of all the business negotiations. Sometimes people can't meet half way. I can name plenty of filthy rich UFC fighters. I think fighter pay has gone up a lot but still needs a bidenflation boost. Bump the bonuses up to 75k, and raise the level of base bay a bit. They can afford to now.
he did what he planned, even though everyone said he was crazy, got to respect this man, they tried to play him down, but he came from nothing, he knows how to make nothing into something
his story kind of all over the place some, on the extensions. he is a cool dude. he just needs better people to read his contracts, he will do good in boxing
That’s why it’s a lawsuit, do you think your lawyer can come remotely close to the UFC’s lawyers? Stop that “just read the contract,” UFC has unlimited resources & will drown you out. They already tried to form a union. You see Dana put a stop to that years ago.
I wonder how Dana feels about Joe giving Francis his platform. He’s also asking leading questions about the UFC. He definitely gonna be salty if he sees it
Dana needs Joe way more than Joe needs Dana at this point. Joe has openly spoken about how he’s seriously debated leaving the UFC because he just doesn’t have much time for it anymore. That’s why Joe only commentates on fights in the US, just doesn’t have the time to travel around the world for events now.
Both sides get to negotiate. Both sides have their own interests and risks in mind and those interests/risks are met and mitigated thru contract. Either side can say no. Nobody has to sign.... fighters aren't slaves. They aren't forced at gunpoint to sign a contract.
@@andysommerlot5123such a tired argument. Of course “no one is forced to sign,” literally no one is claiming they are. The problem is ufc exploiting its leverage as the top promotion to control fighters, give them the bare minimum, keep all the profit for a few executives, and discard the fighters when they’re no longer useful. What Francis described here is a perfect example of that exploitation.
@@andysommerlot5123 it’s not a balanced negotiation, it’s essentially coercion of the fighters into suboptimal terms. These fighters (excluding the highest-paid 1-2%) barely make enough to sustain themselves, let alone paying all their coaches and trainers and for travel and medical costs etc. It’s just classic capitalist power dynamics, and it’s especially bullshit because we can see the revenue that the UFC makes compared to leagues like NFL and NBA, and the huge discrepancy between their profit and the percentage of earnings paid out to their athletes. Dana and the corporate heads at Endeavor are just greedy and selfish, simple as that.
Its a business. A successful business takes more than it gives. There wouldnt even be a UFC with all the best fighters if they didnt operate as such. Noone holds a gun to a fighters head to sign a contract.
@@4ev3rmorechael sonnen puts it perfectly, there are more than 400 fighters in the roster and of the more than 400 fighters less than five fighters bring in profit and the rest are losses and honestly speaking i get that
I remember something in the lines of Dana saying his punch is equal to a for escort truck, the UFC and Dana made him on the other hand Stipe was always disrespected.
In that instance yes. But as soon as there was contract issues with Francis. UFC began it's campaign to devalue Ngannou (as they do alllllll the time with fighters especially champions) remember Cyril Gane ? The UFC propped him so high. Made him out to be the second coming of Bruce Lee. Gave him an interim belt just after Ngannou won the legitimate belt.
@@richarddixon1450 Why would they not? Not everyone is Conor just see the numbers of Francis vs Tyson nobody is interested.
