NGB - JTB123 - Normal Single Segment Speed Run -

Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it and always happy to answer stuff like this. 1. For Black then the 360 version is the best version as you can run it off the HD which makes for the most consistent. There are a couple of minor visual hiccups but nothing game breaking. In Sigma you can use items on the fly but Sigma is chock full in in game load times and halts that really break the pace of the game. Xbox One does have some performance issues and crashing problems but other than that it's a solid version of the game. 2. Cutscenes do not add to the in game timer, that time only tracks when you are in control of Ryu and your menu time. Load times do not add to it either. 3. There is no distance limit for essence the time it stays in a UT-able state is approximately ten seconds. You can get a UT mis charge if it's due to expire in the time it travels from where it is to where you are charging. This will cause two blue explosions instead of one. 4. I could save quite a bit of time on this run, looking back on it I was a bit harsh as I tend to be but there is definitely still over a minute that can be saved realistically. I have completed a segmented run which I'll link below which is significantly faster but that is due to being able to save. I think under 1 hour 40 minutes is possible single segment and anything below that will just be down to how luck you get with certain sequences. Bosses like Alma, Paz Zuu, Doku, Awakened Alma and Marbus can add huge amounts of time and there isn't anything you can do to guarantee they won't do so except be prepared to handle whatever pattern they throw at you. 5. I do have set amounts for essence yes, it's a very important part about speed runs for this game. For example you need a minimum of 1,000 essence at the end of chapter 1 for Inferno ninpo in chapter 2. One of the hardest things about single segment runs for this game for me is keeping track of things like elixers, projectiles, essence, how many of each item I have and what my current stock is. The Dabi would work for that wall too but another main point for the Level 3 Lunar is Paz Zuu. On normal it's the best thing to take him down quickly behind the UF

o i see that makes more sense. btw a quick trick on normal to make those fiends spawn out of the gutter to start chapter ten more consistently is to open the door, run forward towards the gutter a little, then go back out of the door, and then back in and repeat. if you do it 3 times they spawn pretty consistently for me, not too sure if its quicker but it feels it, and atleast its consistent, or it has been for me anyway lol :) good luck on the next run man.
