Episode 4 - This arcade classic was commonly referred to as NBA Jam on ice. How well did it fare when it was finally ported to the PS1? Did it deserve a Sega Saturn port? Let's take a look!
I'm really happy this game got a PS1 port. Too bad it's kind of lost in nowhere land, not getting the attetion NBA Jam gets and even that isn't enough. If they'd re-release a compilation of all the Midway 90s arcade sports games I'd buy it without hesitation. Too bad they're not making any new games like those, the last few NBA Jam games were terrible. The PS1port sadly is hampered by long loading times and blurry low resolution compared to the arcade original. Luckily there's MAME, but I would enjoy a more streamlined version.
Yea I’m grateful that it was ported to the PS1, cause at least we have something. I wanna say that I wish a Saturn/N64 port was made but who knows how good/bad it would’ve been. But you’re right, sucks that it never got a sequel or a re-release and it’s just in purgatory. And I would 1000% purchase that compilation in a heat beat lol. I still play the ps1 game from time to time but nothing compares to the arcade game like you said. I’m not big on Arcade 1up, but if they released a cabinet of that game, I think I would pull the trigger and buy it
Arcade version. Played it with a great friend of mine back in the day! Fun times that’s for sure. Even though I remember we only played this like once lol. Also remember having this on my pc on MAME a very long time ago. Fun game that’s for sure!
@@agentchris1482 same! I loved playing this as a kid in the arcades and picked this up on the ps1 later on when I was older. Obviously the arcade is way better but it’s still awesome!
A lot of fun pick-up games on arcade. Still got the mame and play it once in a while, got itfor PS1, but need a US console. Will def. buy it for a raz pie.
