No moment in sports will ever give me chills like this does. I watched this live at 11 years old here in Denver and I've seen this a thousand times since. I even tear up at times rewatching it. Watching my favorite player Sakic break tradition to hand Ray the Cup first is the most classy, selfless act I've ever seen in sports.
14:04 "I have seen a lot of Stanley Cups presented, and I have to say, folks -- when I saw Joe Sakic hand that trophy over to Ray Bourque... this has been the best Stanley Cup parade I've seen." Me too, Bob. Me too.
Watching this game highlights after sadly learning that Bob Cole has passed away yesterday on April 24th, 2024 in St. John's. One of the best Hockey Commentators in history. May his soul rest in peace.
As a Devils fan, I was extremely pleased to see Bourque hoist the Cup. Great series, my 2 favorite net minders. Give credit where it's due, the Avalanche were on that series.
Still remember this game like it was last Tuesday. After a huge long career. RAYMOND BOURQUE Raises Lord Stanley's Cup. Well deserved Champion.
