3:10 I'm no Sharks fan, but the hot venom from the guys claiming the goalie "knocked his own helmet off" was absurd. The puck bounced off his head, and those types of head-saves often lead to a helmet strap being broken (which means the goalie is required to remove his helmet immediately for his own safety). Besides, there's no reason for him to remove his mask in that scenario otherwise -- it would've been far quicker for him to get back into position instead of flailing at his head. I dunno, I guess I was just disappointed at their reactions...

I agree...when one of the plastic buckles on the helmet breaks a shot to the head could be extremely dangerous even if it's still on his head. He did it out of concern for his own safety not to dis-allow a goal

@Puckman637 Correct on all accoutns! If a strap was broke then it would have came off easily the first time, the fact it didn't shows a clear intention to get stoppage so as not to face another shot on goal given his position. Fucking terrible idea by the goalie, should have gotten a minor

You are wrong on multiple counts. I don't know where the claim that he is "required to remove his helmet immediately" comes from, but the reality is the rules do not work that way. I suggest you read them.

In fact, the announcers apparently don't know the rules either because they actually said the officials are supposed to stop play if they see it - which is once again not true based on the rulebook.

The commentator has no idea what he’s talking about at the stalock taking his helmet off goal. When the puck hit his mask, the straps came off so stalocks vision was blocked so he took his helmet off that’s why he did it. That commentator shouldn’t even comment on things like that. He knows nothing

I’m a centermen at a high level let. Me tell you when your goalie is frustrated you know you will be dragged in somehow! I’m so frustrated that my team got nocked out in round 3 of the playoffs we did so good that season I scored 39 goals in the regular season and 17 in the playoffs! One a dude pocked our goalie’s glove when it was covered and my teammate who is a defender dropped the gloves and it was a pretty good scrap I loved watching it! LOL! I understand frustration in that game when it actually means a lot at such a high level!

San Jose goalie got hit in the mask, and it dislodged the straps. The loose helmet was blocking his eyes, so he pulled it off, not to stop the play, but to clear his vision. The play should have been stopped. Tampa goalie was standing in his crease. The Detroit player ran into him, no penalty should have been assessed. Meier hand passed it. That should have been no goal, Binnington was quite right.

lol I watched it so many times, I'm on the fence about what the technical call should be strictly according to the rule book...In my personal opinion, he didn't move to his left, and he didn't stick his leg or stick out past his natural position he was already in...I also think it was technically his space as much as tatars when he moved forward those 12" in the crease before tatar was actually there, I wouldn't have called it.

Personally, the worst calls will always be on playoffs, mostly on OT. Some referees just wanted to get rid of some of the games. Im not a fan of Bunnington, but on that event, Meier's pass should have counted as hand pass in offensive zone ... We are lucky to have our playoffs this year even with the pandemic, but god, referees are terrible most of the time ...

you cant stop a scoring opportunity like that. same way you get a penalty if you get tripped on an odd man rush. the shot on goal was made before the whistle therefore its a good goal

At 1:55 you can see a fan wearing an islanders jersey at a blues-stars game. Fans wearing a jersey that’s not one of the two teams that are playing SHOULD BE BANNED FROM ENTERING THE ARENA!!!!
