Legal but he knew a head hit would end his career and did it anyway! Don't accuse enforcers who only work when it is a must as dirty. You don't know crap about Hockey. PS. @@MrVin0 it's going to be pretty hard to keep some of that talent around uncertain teams like the Pittsburgh penguins if they don't have it enforcer and somebody to stand up for their guys why do you think Sidney Crosby has been injured the most out of almost any player in the national hockey league as well as having concussions and being cheap shot all the time because guys can get away with it and they're not being held accountable. You can say all you want dude but fighting and having an enforcer on the team is the core of what hockey is. you think a lot of the guys who won so many Stanley cups back in the day would have been able to have been that talented and that good if they didn't have a bunch of enforcers surrounding them making sure that they were protected.

I watched that game and just prior to the, he got decked hard with 2 nasty cross checks which sent him to the ice. You can see him laying in front of the goalie slowly getting up after the second. I think it was more frustration for the missed calls and let his emotions get the best of him. Half a second earlier and it would've been a big clean hit.
