Downey is talented don’t get me wrong, but I just can’t see him getting through DT. He just doesn’t have enough offense, for a second I thought I was watching a Greco match. EDIT: annnndddd now Downey has been booted from the NJRTC (7/11/2020) due to comments made about Women’s wrestling and Greco.
@@e2go pppfff!!! Downey's wrestling down 8lbs since his senior year of college (and has the flowing locks of love), while Taylor's up 25lbs of ripped muscle (& has been losing his hair for years.) Since '15 which body transformation doesn't pass the smell test? There have been rumors about Taylor's hgh usage for years, dude.
motoz30 Taylor won 2 titles @ 103lbs, 1 title @ 112lbs and his last HS title at 135lbs. In college you could tell he still had some more room to grow. Wrestlers manage their weight at a professional level depending on what their needs and wants are. David saw he had a better opportunity at 84kg, while previously wrestling at 74kg. These guys have a very short window to do what they want in this sport so why waste it? Also silly argument bringing up his hair....Cary Kolat, Cael Sanderson, Alex Marinelli, not everyone has great hair genetics. This is a stressful sport.
These announcers... Downey was AA for Iowa State at 197, not 184; although he cut for 184, Jackson had him go 197 at the last minute, hence him undersized at 197.
