"Is asleep and ignores attacks until something pisses it off and it wakes up" I love the Espinas reference in this things design, even more apparent with the thorny spikes on its back.🤣
I've been using it for a while and it's one of my favourite modded creatures. It really does what I always hoped this type of creature would do. It also balances out in the wild all those big carnivores. FYI, when it sleeps it heals very fast and also reflects damage on the attackers. So if you build a structure on it, it's really secure and you're not terrified or running into wild Rexes etc.
I _adore_ that saddle design. the wood base instead of blank metal sheet is an instant plus to me and all the weight reduction parts add up to one fortress of a sauropod.
I wonder if the modder got the mechanic idea from Espinas off of monster hunter? It has a mechanic where it starts off a hunt asleep and only wakes up when you do a certain amount of damage to it. If you do enough damage to it before it wakes up it wakes up enraged. Basically 0 to 100 in no time.
@@Miguel-Red probably wont happen. Every other one was remobed by wildcard themselfs in fear of copyright. Mostly due to animations and models being importet from Monster Hunter directly. They whould have to make models and animations from scratch.
I love this creature. I’ve had it downloaded for a while. The animations are superb the module saddle is amazing. The sounds are great. That platform saddle that isn’t derpy looking. And Passive sleeping is ALWAYS welcome. I. Love. It.❤
Also thank you for the frequent videos, I love all the darkedge content🖤. Every time I see a creature mod I’m interested in, I cross my fingers and hope that you will cover it.
Just tamed one on Scorched and so far I like it! They do have a very "Interesting" glitch though. I brought him back to base and put him into sleep mode, after which he proceeded to fly away and take a nap on the nearby canyon wall... Needless to say, I was speechless, lol. Overall awesome mod though!
I was hoping you would cover this one. I’m so torn because I really don’t like super OP creatures... but sauropods really SHOULD be. Ark shafted lots of powerful creatures - I work with big cats and there is no other class of carnivore that is so comfortable taking down creatures many times their size, but the ark saber tooth is pathetic. But out of all the shafted creatures, sauropods got the worst of it. Nick did such a good job, I like the concept so much and it really fits a sauropod... but I think I’m going to wait for the rest of paleo ark to come out so this sleepy baby doesn’t overshadow all of the rest of ark’s creatures
I agree with the saber tooth, I think top creatures that need a TLC are quetz, carno, saber, and meg, maybe you could throw things like the spider and onyc in there too. Saber should definitely be a lot more damaging, but to be more accurate in universe the saber probably has a lot of competition on the mountains with generally little large prey except other predators, and between a Rex and a saber my money is on the reptile. I think a good TLC for the ark saber would be the ability to accelerate and then run up walls, saber is kinda early game and for early game you need explorers and distance travels to figure out where everything is and how to get to it
@@TragikDino See, I disagree only because Thylacoleo already does that. And we love our Thylas, but making the saber the lower level thyla just guarantees it won't be useful. It would be interesting to see a smaller predator that does more damage to creature larger than itself like a reverse ark additions acro. But there's literally dozens of ways to make the ark saber better, and I'm sure we will get at least one of them when the rest of Paleo ark drops. For now, we can content ourselves with an awesome sauropod.
@@francisweller839 well in my head the saber would run up a wall faster than a thyla, but wouldn’t be able to stop on the wall, you have to commit your momentum to do it. As for your suggestion with the larger creature= more damage dealt I think that could be cool, but if it’s just a passive effect on its base attack it doesn’t really feel like a true TLC. It’s hypothesized that saber toothed cats, or machairodont felids, were heavily built cats that were much more bear like than other cats, and used this strength in their forelimbs to wrestle down large prey and quickly kill it with a single bite from their huge canines. But I can’t say I see ark’s saber being able to do this being one of the smaller creatures, while parasaurs, phomia, ovis, beavers, and undefended younge could possibly be wrestled down in this fashion, even a sub adult trike would convincingly stomp a lone saber and even in a pair the dinosaur I would think still has a fair chance. Unless they hunt in…. Packs? Prides? Doesn’t matter, if they hunt in groups maybe they can pull it off on large things but we don’t really see them spawn in groups, plus no pack bonus if that’s really valid
This creature is absolutely perfect as a mobile base. It has a crazy weight reduction AND a platform saddle to place another cargo tames on: an anky for metal and a horse for thatch, for example. I think the weight of their inventories will be reduced as well by the addition saddle pieces, so even the metal stuff may end up weighting almost nothing. This dino seems to be practically impossible to overload. AND and, of course this thing can fight back. Perfect mobile base as it is.
Sold. I lost my love for ark BUT for all the work being put into this mod I will come back. I really loved this mod on evolved and am very happy to see it back!
I wonder if Espinas From Monster Hunter was their inspiration. Espinas starts off the fight asleep with high Damage resistance and after being damaged enough he wakes up. Espinas is also very spiky. Edit: and it speeds up? Yep definetly inspired by Espinas from Monster Hunter!
Hi, could I get some help maybe? I don't know if they have a discord so I could ask there, but the dino has a very weird pastely look to it, even worse than that is the platform being a "missing texture" grey and the bags and such being very shiny and pitch black unless I shine a flashlight directly at them.. Any tips?
Do you know whether or not you can spawn them in at higher sizes than the 0.3 range in game? Ive heard that 1.1 have stat increases over the smaller ones. If you havent done a mod spotlight on shinies ascended id highly recommend that for a review. The fact that you can get a vanilla giga to have infinite stamina for sprinting is crazy. Its sort of a fun mod, but also a mod for those who want to enrich their vanilla survival worlds with dinos who are very powerful and good for breeding.
Has anyone else had issues with these guys not going back to sleep after waking up aggressively while taming? On a private server with x3 Taming Rates, but a Level 150 only gets to about 14% with 3 Veggie Cakes and they always seem to get aggroed by me and won't go back asleep. I even sat in front of one I was taming for over an hour and it never went back to its sleeping state. Tested this with 5 different ones, ranging from 100+ and above level wise.
@@DarkEdgeTVSurvival Thank you, I didn’t know about the changes so I thought I was going crazy. I just gotta figure out what I’m doing wrong to keep them awake for so long.
@EnderKauki I can't comment, I've not played with it yet since these changes Likewise to @slimebucket642 I'm afraid I can't answer that at this moment, sorry!
I got a shiny one a server me and some friend are on. I look at it like its a smaller faster brachi. I love the brachi but its so slow. While not a speed demon the diam it does move at a decent speed. I honestly thing the rex and other large theropods need to be only a little faster than this. If you want to move fast on land you should have to use a raptor, gally, megaloceros, thyla, deinonychus, ect. Flier should all be slower, I mean a lot of pterasaurs mostly glided around. If the wind isn't pushing them they are not moving fast. Unless you are a jet powered Trop. Pteranodon really shouldn't be able to fly with a rider. Most predatory birds today can only carry roughly half their weight, but pteranodon is not a bird and its wings are completely different in how the generate lift. Going by modern line of thinking with bird it could carry 55lb at most. Quetz is about 500lbs so it would cap at 250lb. No flying reptile is gonna carry a creature that weighs twice its weight. Plus their feet can't grab anything, they are made for walking. Argent should be slowed as well as it was not aerodynamically build for predation and was highly likely more of a scavenger, aka it was fat and slow so it ate things that are dead and cant run from it. And again while it is a bird, it is on the very high end of weight for its wings so probably couldn't lift a whole lot either. I honestly wouldn't mind a slower dive mechanic on all flyers if their base speeds were all lowered to more realistic speeds. I swear I only meant to type the first three sentences.
This is only the first creature in Aussie expansion which has me super excited to see what’s next Fun fact: the diamantinasaurus in the wild can harvest dead creatures and full heal like a carnivore
You, who is reading this comment. I just wanted you to know, you're awesome and you will always be awesome. ❤❤ FOR THE EPIC GLORY OF THE DARKEDGE CLAN!!!
We really need a Diplo tlc, what a fucking wasted dinosaur to add to the game. Could have been a sort of speedy jousting dinosaur but instead it was turned into a useless slab of meat that does no damage for some fucking reason 😬
It's such a good dino ☺️💕 i like using it to explore the area & get resources. Do you know the spawn command for the saddle? The one i tried doesn't work 😩
