So far the reveal season is little scuffed but i'm (and my editor Marshall) trying to make the most out of it. Do you think it matters much that the spell-stopping ambusher does it at burst speed, meaning that your opponent can't use their own spell-stopping cards to protect their play?
Okay okay, hear me out. What will REALLY add to ambush especially for you is that three other champs that focus on Ambushing in League are Kha’zix, Rengar, and FIDDLESTICKS!!! Fiddlesticks + Ambush????

The only part about the redesign I don't like is that some people are complaining about it and being how you'd expect people who like the original design to be
You summon the 3 mana deny as the shadow in the brush, and if you need to, you just defend or attack with it as a 2 mana 2/2, with a possible deny, if necessary
that's a good point yeah, i guess i give too much thought to the "you cant make another brush because of this" but you can just get rid of it in combat. good call!
@@nicolinrucker5181 hmmm, interesting question. Though i doubt it'd be the case, since that would be pretty op to lose the original card and still transform the next shadow into the first one you killed
the problem is that if you do that you cant summon any other ambush cards as shadow in the brush... and there are far more valuable cards than basically rite which you dont know if you will ever need.
@@foxinabox5103 Well in that situation you'd be losing the unit if you don't counter and thus the ability to counter something more important later either way, hence the middle finger lol. But ya you're not wrong.
Hear me out...Nidalee/Evelynn, all of Eves followers are a basically 2 summons because of the Husks meaning Nidalee could level faster of them and the Husks can give the Shadows in the Bush addional safety and enable crazy plays like the Pakaa Cub getting its nexus strike off because of a pink Husk or protecting the Blimp-Pack Poacher with spellshield to keep the captured unit
Wait using the husks is actually big brain. The question is just whether or not that provides more strength than nidalee’s intended pairing with nakotak/neeko
The guy that captures is insano with the spell that obliterate an ally to create a weapon with it's stats. The spell is fast speed i believe, very nice interaction and animation
you can also condense your own tycoon to play him for manifest + the passive on turn 8 in case they try to remove on turn 7, play brush, play 1/1 tycoon, ambush and win off of that combo I think nidalle will be pretty good with BC for the early pressure or frel for protecting nida + buffing her for finisher, she also has overwhelm

One big bonus in Facecheck's favor IMO is that since it can manifest Avenging Vastaya a good chunk of the time, every time you play what it makes your opponent has to respect the Deny.
Shine On reminds me of the time LoL used to have custom login screens with original soundstracks on new champion releases... I just love it! So hyped for the expension!
I think Avenging Vastaya is strong in non-nidalee decks; I agree it feels a bit off when you want to keep the transformations rolling but it's a significantly better version of RoN (less mana and no additional cost) - in decks where you aren't punished for sitting on an ambush, it's really strong, especially if you can abuse the prowl effectiveness to draw out more spells.
@@nihal5125true but it can allow you to pay that cost across two rounds plus RoN requires a loss of tempo through unit or mana sacrifice. I’m not saying it’s Better per se but it is an interesting take on countermagic at least.
I think Avenging Vastaya deserves more thought, the way I see her, you summon her as a bush, and then you can shutdown any burn archetype that rely on skill damage, in any case, I don't feel she is a deny you safe, its a deny you activate on site at anything you wouldn't normally deny
16:10 you are wrong, before it was like you said with Everywhere buff.(Kahiri Timelines worked because everywhere buff could be transferred). Since Ekko expansion, they had to change the interaction due to a bug and only "card buffs" remains. Prowl can be transferred while ambushing but iceborn legacy won't. Edit: Kahiri Timelines is my most favourite deck in its respective release.
If I had to guess on how ro play Vastaya, your main objective is to set a board up as best as you can then play Vastaya to add protection to your board, overall its mainly just a card for protecting wide boards adding safety as lets say you go all out and level Nidalee and have a very strong board then you plop this card down to lock your board waiting to end game next turn. My overall thought process is that these cards will be used to confuse your opponent and eventually go wide and play reactive cards as anchors to anchor your board if needed and maybe there will be ways to rebush units for reusable effects, if so I can see these reactive units being used a lot as ways to anchor winning boards and maybe in the future if this ambush archtype needs buffing they might allow for 2 bushes to be playable e.g: Nidalee lvl= "if I'm on the board add a 2nd bush slot" ect.
Tycoon is closer to the leviathan(Swain's ship) than to Albus Ferros. Albus doesn't need to be present to get his own ability buffed. The Leviatan stuns 2 units if leveled up Swain is present. I think is going to be good.
I saw someone saying ambush would be like champions, where you play an bush and then every ambusher unit in your hand become its spell version. But after seeing it in practice, im doubting it will be that strong of a mechanic even after seeing the leaks, being limited to only one bush at the time can be bad for that deck
Man, they absolute nailed this!! I was concerned about the ambush mechanic, but now that i see it's probably gonna be broken for a patch but it's well done and really interesting, i consider that "Darkin Expansion: Finale" is peak LoR, but this may surpass it, I'm really excited for this
I think the Vastaya is a flexible deny for midrange decks. If you play midrange, you want to spend your mana efficiently and you won't really have a lot of spell mana banked to use Rite. However, you can take the Vastaya, play it as a 3/3 if you're against aggro, or save it to play it as brush if you're against a deck like FTR (I know it's Eternal, it's the mode I've been playing the most recently so it's the first thing that came to mind 🤣). The other thing I like about the ambush mechanic as a mid-rangey deck is that you get more flexibility. Mid-range decks are basically play on curve, but these give you the chance to react against the enemy deck while still leaving a body on board. And also you get to play control and slap all the reactive cards, with Nidalee as more of a control unit because of the javelin 🤔
tbf, there was a card yesterday that gives you a random ambush card. so if your reactive ambush card doesn't look like it'll get any play, you can try your luck for a more useful ambush
If you summon a Card as brush will you be able to use the ambush cards onto other brushes? That could make the Negation-ambush a LOT better in my opinion
I know what i mean is you keep the ambush spell and If you Play another brush you have two different units you can summon with the brush Edit: If the First Brush dies
Vastaya seems very much like a card you might play one of, just because the threat of it existing is more valuable than actually playing it since they wont know
Snnuy probably has access to all the champs in this expansion in advance (like he did on the previous ones) I think that misspoken rengar wasn't just a missspoke. I think he maybe momentarily forgot rengar wasn't revealed yet
Edit: nvm 3/5 is fair I think avenging vastaya is as a 1 or even 2-off (meta dependant) better than you give it credit for. 1. you dont have to play shurima deny (doesnt really fit the deck anyway) plus its a body 2. It's fairly easy predict Big spells FTR, Ruination, buried, targon BS. -> swarm before that -> opponent has to gamble between getting blown out or find different win con -> you can still play to your win con 3. the nightmare of spell based controll (deny while swarming) Not saying it's amazing but fairly versatile for a tech card
That Landmark isn't bad persay, but it's going to kill your mana curve if you play it early, and if you play later you don't get alot of value out of it. The effect is actually good, but it's taking space on board and when are you going to play it instead of simply playing another unit or banking the spell mana. If it were a creature, it would be way better, because that would be good effect to have on your board, but you're giving up a blocker or an attacker to do it.
I feel like the deny ambush card is less to define what ambush is and more to make your opponent second guess themselves and hesitate. Because now you KNOW there's a good chance of that deny
I think something missed about Nidalee at least in the video is her ease of level up. Every Ambush Card played as a brush counts for two towards her Level Up since her text specifies “Summon or transform”. Your 2|2 brush comes down +1 to Nidalee level up, 2|2 brush flips, another +1 to Nidalee. Turn 3 she comes down Turn 5 playing on curve she levels. If you have 2 of the 3|1’s in hand she levels on Turn 4. Is that every game? No. Something to consider? Absolutely. I’d give her 4/5. Attack Token on turn 4 swing a 6|4 Quick attack overwhelm and 2 3|1’s, against vulnerable blockers. Then if your 6|4 hits nexus remove an enemy unit for free or burn nexus for 4. Ideal scenario you clear their board and deal ~ 10 damage to nexus on turn 4. Also higher tier because Ambush is highly flexible and creates a level of confusion for enemies. Card games are all about the information at hand, and Ambush flips that on its head, as we saw with Morph in MTG (even moreso because EVERY ambush card in LoR comes down for 2 mana so you can’t even guess what card it is based off of cost, whereas MTG morph you could try).
I’m calling it, ambushed is going to get changed to either focus or fast speed (probably the latter so you can still react in battle) in the 2nd patch after this.
avengin vastaya seems insane. I think what ends up happening if you get to run 4-6 rites of negation effectively. And just snap them off on basically anything you don't just sit and wait for the perfect opportunity because you know you're running more rites of negation then anyone else. its like playing fish / tempo control in MtG
So i realized something if you play the 6/5 overwhelm on turn 3 , then on turn 4 with 2 mana left over you can use the 1 mana +2/+2 on the bush and transform the bush to the 6/5 and have a 8/7 overwhelm on turn 4
My question if it would work with the demacia landmark that does "When I'm summoned, draw a unit. When you summon an ally, grow its stats equal to its cost." it doesnt say what cost do u play it, it says grow it to its cost so can you make +6/+6 shadow in the brush?
Play with Recall with Ambush is gonna be scary, especially with that Vastaya that negates spell. How does SitB work with duplication? Like with Black Flame or Dawn n Dusk.
Snnuy when the bush dies and you summon another bush won’t you have two spells to transform the bush into? Meaning there’s two ways to use ambush, just straight surprise them or let them kill the bush and keep summoning more to have more transform options open in the back. So you summon the avenging guy. Let the bush die. Summon another bush and just keep the spell in hand forever cause you always have the bush being summoned.
Even without any cross support, I can see Ambush cards as some decent Discard fodder. Your deck is full of 2/2s that generate an extra card on summon and act as removal bait. If the 2/2 eats removal, then it's just more discard fodder.
i think you are looking at the rite ambush wrong i see it being really good once you have 3 to 4 units on board and offers some protection and once at that point you can get away by summoning normally since it would be 6 to 7 mana at that point
im dying to see rengar in LOR atleast i play little bit nidalee too when rengar got ban back in the day and im huge fans of transform archetype, 100 percent will play her
@@smartalex22 I mean, they kind of just turned her into a cat girl with the same slim body and pretty face 90% of the girl champs already have. This is a jungle woman raised by wild cats, I was hoping for something a little more rugged. Everything else is a huge improvement, outfit especially, but they could've gone a little more out there with her face and body type in my opinion
Quite ironic that the counter to this deck is the PnZ pings itself. Btw you would play the landmark so you can remove units on the board then nidalee's spear can target the nexus. Just a thought
Remember that 6 mana slow spell that starts a free attack with ephemeral copies of cats on your side of the board? Did y'all notice that Nidalee is a cat? Just saying... there's quite a scary thing happening over there
Here's a question. After she leveled, does that mean all other Nidalee copy is getting leveled and then deleveled and if after she dies and then she summoned as Brush she use the Ambush card does that mean she always transform into her Lv 2, Or only when after she dies as leveled and then her ambush become Lv 2 ambush?
I'm curious, if you play a card as Shadow in the Bush and it dies, do you still keep the ambush spell in hand? Couldn't you just play the ambush spell later on any Shadow in the Bush you have? IE: the Nidalee you play died as a bush, but you just play another card as a bush next turn and transform it into Nidalee instead?
