This hits differently after playing Nier Replicant.

The moment i saw Lunar Tears, and then marched forward looking at Kaine's house The impact THE FUCKING IMPACT MY KOKORO WAS IN PIECES MAN T____T Istg i can definitely say that only NieR players could really sympathize on this very scene...

This game is a Masterpiece

i kinda hoped yokotaro would have been kind enough to input the use of the lunar tears. as a long nier fan myself, of course we've managed to have a close connection with the lunar tears as a memory of kaine (obviously) but they could have used them on ending e or something. save 9s from all the trauma he didnt have to go through

The fact that he feels a stronger connection with Kainé, a supporting character, is just so incredibly satisfying to me. Like, everyone doesn't have to be best friends with the main protag, and that's okay. Maybe even better. Dunbar's limit, after all.

Very sad, but Nier can't return. Automata came after the ending where nobody remembered him, unless I'm mistaken.

Emil is that one character that reminds me that death is a gift and immortality, a curse.

After knowing hat happen in replicant, this is sad… Seeing Kaine shack and Emil’s mentioning his journey with Nier and Kaine being his most precious memories and now Emil is left alone as his friends are now long gone… My tear is dampening my keyboard. We can see how precious Kaine and Nier is to him when he stills vaguely remember them even though his memories are fragmented and few thousands of years has already passed. Ending Y again mention Emil’s memories of Kaine and Nier. Yoko Taro just want to make Emil suffer eternally, don’t he.

Even with happy ending of original it can be sad after story

Really painful that Emil had to go through that. Yoko Taro should not stop making games..

I had a weird vision of the studio contacting Emil’s voice actor to reprise her role, and her not remembering who tf Emil was (Since NieR is obscure age), so they dangled an adorable plush skelly boy over her head like you would a child.
