This song, sung by Tarja, sounds so special. I love her low, hoarse "witch" voice, have you noticed it? It has its own name in the opera, it’s not growling, but there is something magical in it!💖
Tarja didn't know she would be fired at the end of this show, just the band. In late 2004, due to relationship problems, Tarja met with the band and said that she would leave. It was agreed to record another album and carry out a farewell tour. Tarja wanted to announce her decision to the public and prepare fans for the vocalist change, but Tuomas didn't want the matter to be made public at the time. After this meeting, the band secretly planned a letter of resignation to Tarja. This letter was given to her at the end of the show you just saw, with the recommendation that it be read later. The next day, the band posted this same letter on their website.
Ever Dream from Wacken 2013 very often gets reacted to so it was great that you did a reaction of this song with Tarja. As a relatively new fan to Nightwish, I find it so interesting to hear how different the songs sound when sung by the different vocalists. I have been listening to some of Tarja´s solo work which is also interesting to see how her voice has evolved post Nightwish. I´m no expert in opera but from what I hear, she really masters it and has a super powerful voice. My favourite songs with Tarja live are Wishmaster and Phantom of the opera. She also has some amazing performances of The Siren, Gethsemane and Sleeping Sun that you should check out. I find it so fascinating looking back at the old school Nightwish.. It´s a treasure trove that takes time and for someone like me who fell in love with Nightwish with Floor as lead vocalist, it´s important to be open, enjoy and acknowledge the contributions from all previous members. I like it a lot and the more I connect the dots, the more their amazing 25 yr evolution makes sense. I call the evolution of their catalogue the most beautiful perpetual artwork that has ever existed. Every album has gems to be found.
..Yes, you are so right! I can't listen Tarja's "Nemo" without😭😭and "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan" I really, really recommend to listening that finish song. You gonna love it. 💝🇫🇮
@@jaana3634 I have seen "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan" End of an era performance. It´s really beautiful :) They really are a special band that makes you feel things at the deepest level. I love Nemo too. Amazing song and beautiful lyrics.. I understand you about the tears thing. Nightwish has a way of making me cry, like everyday lol That´s pretty special if you ask me :) Merry Xmas to you
Yes, this is the song I love. Yes, Floor sings great, but I'm a little bored. Yes, Tarja has no idea what they will do, and it was even worse, the band let her sing a ballad on stage and show photos in the background. They said goodbye and she had no idea. He and Tuomas had been friends since childhood, and Tuomas probably loved her, but Tarja secretly married and Tuomas couldn't stand it. In the letter he wrote nonsense where the truth is elsewhere. Tarja's husband, Marcelo, said that after telling Tuomas that he could never have her again because he married her, that was the end of it. Tarja never forgave them and doesn't even say the name Nightwish in interviews, says the band I was with. Marco was the only one she met afterwards. Tuomas caused fans on the street to attack her orally, even in interviews, and many are still angry today. But if it weren't for Tarja, Nightwish wouldn't be so successful and he took her credit.
Well... Tarja was attacked twice on stage when she was on tour with her group years ago in Mexico, I think, and the worst thing was that none of the group defended her or consoled her, the worst thing was that the one who consoled her at that time was the person in charge of the tour who was marcelo...it is obvious that tarja was looking for a man of action and not of words.
Best version of this song tbh. It’s not necessarily the best vocal performance from Tarja on this track (I think she sounds better in the Lowlands 2005 version, but obviously she’s still amazing here) but Marko sounds best here and their duet is perfect. It really elevates the whole performance.
I also think that Tarja's voice is better in the Lowlands 2005 version, but of course this is also good. Lowlands 2005 Ever Dream is maybe the last time Tuomas smiles when Tarja sings beside him, but I'm little worried why Tuomas smiles, because that smile is so... the shining.
Great job, guys! Tarja didn't know this show was the end but, according to the letters and later info, she'd already declared she could stay around for one more album, and then was leaving anyway. So the guys just kind of accepted her resignation and helped her to the door. Rough, to be sure, but that's how things go, sometimes.
Them G left out the part where the band also posted the termination letter publicly on the Nightwish website, which is honestly where the majority of the drama with fans stems from.
Let's not forget he continued to try and trash on her. Then later lied about Annette's departure, saying she quit the band while she was actually sick in the hospital and pregnant
It was the last time that Tarja and Tuomas sang together. Tuomas knew that is why he cried. It is a song that Tuomas made for Tarja. He was in love with her and she had married someone else.
The Nightwish i will always love forever ❤️ such magic ✨ i really don't care the stuff happening out of the stage later that year...i stay with their performance and that's it.
Tuomas gave the letter to Tarja just before show was starting, but told her not to read it before that show was done. So Everyone else knew except Tarja herself.
All praise the Valkyrie, Floor, but I love your one of a few channels that keeps Tarja Nightwish alive!! I think Ever Dream & Sleeping Sun are her best performances, and cannot be matched or eclipsed (honorable mention: Nemo). Plus, Marko!!
@@pedjavukmirovic6770 then why is thoumas the only original member while everyone else quit or got fired???? You really are blind if you cant tell that he is a horrible person and that's why he was left alone
@@y.a.s9198 exactly, this dude was garbage to Annette also, so clearly he's the common denominator if he keeps treating bandmates terribly while Tarja simply moved on. The entire album of Dark Passion Play was Tuomas playing victim while still bashing Tarja.
@@pedjavukmirovic6770 you mean she hated their player drug and drunk rock star life styles while she was a down to earth girl who actually married and had children? Yeah people with integrity can be easily hated
She told the band she was leaving at some point. Time passed and she thought she was cool with them when they up and decided to let her go early, really early. They were assholes and that is why I will not listen to anything they've done after she got canned.
At the beginning of Phantom of the Opera at the same End of an Era show, you also see the devastation of Jukka (drummer) with his hand over his head head knowing what was to follow after the show - all the band members felt deeply that night.
The band blamed her manager and husband for leading her astray, and Tuomas wrote a hateful song about him on the following album "Master Passion Greed", probably the heaviest song they ever did. They never played it live though, they didnt think it was appropriate. There is a behind the scenes video from this tour, where she has him with her and hovering over her constantly, and it always seems tense when they are in the band's presence.
And Tuomas and Tarja poured out all their emotions and feelings on paper after breakup. Listen to Tarja's songs "Enough" and "Diva" and you can see this drama through Tarja's eyes.
@@y.a.s9198 haha i Love this also thats why i said nice to see. For me Nightwish has a better singer now then the original simple as that. But i like Tarja also
