No matter how emotional it was for him, the fact remains that it was a horrible way to let her go. The lack of respect they showed to her was oh so wrong. He has said that he should have handled it differently, but it is long done and everyone has moved on. The beauty is that we fans get to watch and listen to it all.
Totally right. He said he was nervous about the media criticism after firing her and thought it could get worse if she were to villanize them after the firing (which she never did) so he thought they had to 'strike first' and paint her the villain beforehand. I personally think he gave an extra malicious touch to the letter due to his personal grudge against Marcelo.
I don't think Marco is upset at the band so much as it was his mental health and going through a divorce. Needing time off and alone to clear his head. Hearing loss may be a factor. Middle age loss of range for certain frequencies is nornal.
I think Tuomas was already in a bad place mentally at that time, even before the trouble with Tarja's husband arose. He almost quit the band around I think it was 2000, before they let go of their first bassist and friend, Sami. And then things just kept piling up. Same with Tarja, she mentioned in interviews later how lonely and drained she felt at that time. Being in your 20s is rough, especially when there's so much pressure on you. I wish they had talked it out and not parted with so much heartbreak. But they both seem very happy with their lives now, and that’s what matters.
I always get shivers when I watch the whole concert on dvd. It‘s heartbreaking to see the fun Tarja still has in this concert, not knowing what the others will do to her next. It was so wrong. Definately there were happier days. Today I watched their concert again that they filmed around December 2000 to February 2001. It is now known under the name From Wishes To Eternity. There is a scene when Emppu runs his hands through her hair. Another one when Tuomas and Tarja are just headbanging together. Marko was not in the group yet around this time. Then some time afterwards things began to get worse - no one really knows what really happened in detail. We only know what we can find in interviews here and there. There are concerts in the net where Tarja is just standing like a singing statue on stage. Was it part of her performance? Was she unhappy? Who does really know the truth? At the time around this show of End of an Era I tend to think that Tarja had found her fun for performing on stage back again. Who knows. She‘s smiling again on this concert. And then … bang, she got fired in the cruelest way. With the open letter she was publicly accused and sentenced at the same time, without a chance to justify herself. Anyway, what‘s good to see is that the band on the one hand and Tarja on the other seem to be much happier nowadays.
Saying goodbye to someone you love, is never an easy thing, EVEN, if it's just a friend.😢 To TUOMAS, Tarja was the VOICE AND INTERPRETER of his heart, and emotions. Everytime he made a song, he'd give to her, and ALWAYS ALLOWED HER TO SING IT AND FIGURE IT HOW TO SING HER WAY, and the band would connect with her. That's how extremely unique Tarja was to Tuomas.
I don't think Tuomas was mad, I think he was sad. Even though he wanted her to leave, they were good friends once and they started the band together (with Jukka and Emppu). Can't have been easy for him.

Tuomas and tarja knew its other before the band. They were very tight and bond with each other. And then nightwish happened. And old together created this beautiful and unique band. The band now with floor is so good. But the chemistry back then between them was so amazing. They created something phenomenal . I will always love nightwish but the songs would never be so good as back then. And what you are watching now is a tuomas that he is going to loose tarja a woman that meant a lot to him in so many ways. As for the open letter both tuomas and Marco said now that it was a very big mistake. You know love and hate are the same.
@@playagain963 I think there is a lot of confirmation bias if you try to look every body language and try to analyze it. They played over 60 gigs with Tarja knowing they'll kick her out after world tour. I think everyone was very into it in that concert - example Bless the Child everyone go totally nuts, Creek Mary's Blood was super cool and so on.
He cried A lot As he himself wrote down in " the poet and the pendulum" At first he couldn't cry " I cannot cry, cause the shoulder cries more" But later "He stopped crying at the end of each beautiful day" So he cried the whole day.

Can you imagine her heartbreak after that show? The interview she gave was almost unbearable to watch, her pain in so visible...they shouldn't have betrayed her like that and that's why they were hurting even before doing it!!!! They should've shown respect and let her go without releasing that letter publicly, you know do it like men!!!
Tuomas were crying many times during this concert, I heard him in an intervju when he talked about it. All these song were written for Tarja, his muse and true love. Songs like that will Tuomas never write anymore.

As far as I'm concerned " Ever dream" could be about anyone important in Tuomas' life. Somebody that people don't even know about. Because Tuomas is very private. And it's very likely that it is about somebody that we don't even know.It' s embarrassing and disrespectful towards Tuomas, Tarja and Tuomas' wife Johanna that some people, yourself included are trying to make fiction into a fact. If I'm correct, Marko in his book wrote that he was the one who wanted to kicking out Tarja from band, he gave ultimatum that either Tarja would be kicked out or he would leave...
I think that was because it was the elephant in the room. Not her. Tuomas' moping after her. The tension from that. It was killing Tuomas, it was unfair to the band as a whole. Unfair to be and put your emotional state on another to deal with never occurred to them I suppose. Let her go. Get rid of the tension. The proper response is therapy. Guided conversation. I feel this when X happens. I like when Y happens. When Z happened I felt ... . Never attacks. Statements of facts and your emotional response. Maybe what you thought about it or the I hear this and feel/think that... Kind of statements. Building empathy. Puttinh yourself in the place of the other. Where you felt attacked, they only wanted to let you know how they felt. A few months of that. Of learning to reopen communications. But good news they have.

So as much as Tuomas wanted Tarja out now, at the same time he REALLY HATED HER FOR GOING, or that SHE HAD TO GO. Kind of a paradox of mix emotions! Tuomas was VERY CLOSE TO TARJA, and Tarja was at one time VERY CLOSE TO TUOMAS.
Things could have been different if they helpt her in Mexico when she was attact om stage by this man. Instead Marcelo run to her and helpt her. Tarja and Marcelo were not boyfriend/girlfriend then. The guys let him take care of her while they went to stridbars, one hell of a bad choise for Tuomas , right there and then he lost her. Even if he tried for years to get her, she rejected him. But if he had kicked that guy who ripped her shirt apart ..Hmm..Could the whole situation been different then?

I think that moment marked her and forced her to grow and see the real state of the band, the parties and all that she outgrow later. If you think about it all her demands make perfect sense for a profesional singer, she wanted to take care of her instrument and her life. Since no one else seems to care.

Me encantan tus reacciones, para este concierto la banda ya le habia pasado la carta a Tarja, notificandole que ya no seria parte de ella, claramente le dicen que ella hace todo por fama y dinero y que ellos lo hacen todo por amor a musica ...asi que para ellos si bien se quedaron sin voz femenina, era mejor que tenerla con ellos, por las exigencias que Tarja hacia....para ese momento Floor estaba en su banda revamp y aunque los fans la pedian no era el tiempo..y luego de Anett llego Floor...quien hoy tiene a la banda en la cima del metal sinfonico...gracias Dios por Floor....la carta que los miembros de la banda le pasaron a Tarja , la publicaron en su pagina oficial..y asi es como todo el universo confabulo para que llegara Floor...la mas grande leyenda en el.metal.femenino y sin pretenciones ni.exigencias. siendo quien es..eso es asombroso.
Floor es fantástica pero no es,explotada en los últimos albumnes de sueño de Nightwish si has escuchado a floor en Revamp y en after forever te darás cuenta la diferencia ... 😌👌🤘🏻
