Tarja,..never fails to scintillate all my senses..and even in this melancholly song she so lifts my spirits for a full day...astounding...and just think she was only 23 at the time of this recording...a Tarja-induced euphoria i was in love with her back then, never even meeting her...i can only imagine how Tuomas felt being so close to her for so many years....at any rate...she is a precious jewel and so are you for being one of very few who brings her to us......

hello Kristin!...you are the epitome of sweetness....as usual i agree with you ...with one exception here......one can easily get lost and thoroughly hypnotized by Tarja's emotionally laden , exquisite performance, because as you can see the emphasis is and always was on her....interestingly enough,today, nightwish performs this marvelous song very rarely and when they do ,the vocal portion is deleted and only the instrumental part is performed...this is the extent to which Tuomas has been driven to wipe all vestiges of Tarja's legacy from the edifice of nightwish because he knows without doing so, that amazing chapter will never be closed....luckily tens of millions of Tarja's yesterday's, and today's devotees know that she was a vital part of that band and without her they would have little chance of success....at any rate ...much thanks for bringing Tarja to us..love you for being you....

My personal fave ballad from NIGHTWISH... among some huge competition. Almost nobody has reacted to it seeing as it is one of their "older" songs. i love the special way the NIGHTWISH bunch have with solos on those ballads, with Emppu following and elaborating on the main melodic line. Seems simple to say it, but works magic!

You can see her sing it as a solo star during the Beauty and the Beat ( yes beat) with then drummer Mike Terrana concert circa 2013 live with an orchestra and choir. Which I compare to a cheat mode of music where Queen Tarja is concerned. Lovely HQ/HD digital sound recorded in Eastern Europe. Czech republic. greetings..sweet Kristin..you know some peple say she shows no emotions in her delivery..my immediate response is..they must not only be deaf but blinds too...she bombards you with emotion from her absolutely touching vocal manner so replete with nuance and intonation, to the getle way she hold the microphone and closes her eyes , resembling a lit angel...she doesnt need to do hair mills and body twists to bring the full impact of the lyrics across...thank you sooo very much for bringing Tarja to the unwashed masses...

So have I. This concert almost never gets reacted to. It's always End of an Era concert when it's Tarja's song, unfortunately. Becuase it has the best audio/vido quality. But this 2000 Tampere concert is my fav.

The magic was and is real! Tuomas is right - Nightwish is an entity greater than it's parts. There are 8 members of Nightwish - 6 are the musicians, 1 is the audience/fans and the last, but not least, is the music.

So beautiful, among my top Nightwish favs. And from my fav Nightwish concert, the 2000 at Tampere Pakkahuone. Tarja keeps singing Swanheart also in her solo career: it's a song where the focus is havily on the vocalist, not so much in the instruments, so it doesn't make a big difference Nightwish or no. Edit: Oh, and this gets reaced to almost never! So much more thank you for doing it.

whats astonding to me is that there are still many who insist that Floor's ultra soft , warm, cuddly delivery carries so much more feeling than Tarja's...her then fully mezo voice was absolutely rivetting and mesmorizing....whats even sadder to me is that when i first learned Floor was going to join nightwish , i assumed she would deploy her potent classical timbre divinely mixed with metallic...but alas ,after the 2013 wacken concert she permanantly reverted to an ordinary, at times even difficult too hear, voice...and her ballads are sweet,warm,inviting but have little nuance..and everytime she chooses to raise her voice a bit, which is quite rare, all her fans go into floorgasm mode

@@onlythtruth2938 It seems to be a lot in the eye of the beholder, whose performance and charisma one likes. I've heard Floor singing classical style twice, in Dutch talk show the Puccini aria every Floor fan thinks is divine, and in Raskasta Joulua conceret tour a Christmas song. I don't think Tuomas will use her to sing classical style. She has so far sung all the originally classical songs in contemporary style, as did Anette too.

@@Aurinkohirvi actually she used to sing in a classical style all the time in her former bands and whenever she joins Epica or anyone else for a cameo apperance...i strongly believe that Tuomas in addition to trying his darnest to wipe out all remainders of Tarja, is also in fear of loosing Floor if she reverts to her classical style and starts to entertain the notions of a solo career.

@@onlythtruth2938 Never listened her former bands. Are you sure she actually sings classical style, because people often mistake her head voice as classical style. I see people saying all the time that in comments with Nightwish songs. That Tuomas part seems a bit far fetched. He changed Tarja's singing style to more a contempotry style already for her last two albums.

I've been thinking about while listening this, what Nightwish would be today... if Tarja's, and band things would have gone otherwise as they went.However, I believe that things and what has happened have a purpose.

i better stop listening now or i am going to drift into a Tarja coma.....she is like a opiod laden drug traveling by air into your soul imbuing it with severe intoxication...and if that effect extends to concert goers than there should be a warning on all tickets and by the entrance to the concert hall.
