@@TPG_Plagues i think it was just a mishap... It was 12 PM on the 8th would be noon, and 12 am is midnight. I used to get those mixed up all the time...
Same here. I was relieved when he immediately sold the house and left for a hotel. No need to stick around longer or try to fight it if you haven't tried running yet. He put his son's safety above anything else.
I was fearing something like this. "After we returned from the hospital, I decided it was best for us both to sleep in my room for a few nights with the door locked. That should do the trick."
It's not very often I find a story that can push my body to shiver or feel on edge. But this story made my eyes open with anticipation, as a father of 3 this made me go check on my kids again before I head to bed. Keep up the great work spooky man!
I mean, yes, but also no, because this could've all be solved by asking the child right away. Also, if a child is not confirmed to have been abused, why wouldn't you let the parent at least stay in the hospital
@@aldranzam3456 Children are capable of lying/being forced to lie. And they probably didn't let him stay with his child in case he threatened him and told him specific things he should say. There are parents horrible and abusive enough to do that to their children.
Facts. I've been a foster parent. They do nothing for the betterment of the children. Sad. When money is involved all they become is a statistic and a check.
I love how you portray all the characters as individuals with emotions and unique personalities. As a father it makes me feel a pit in my stomach when i hear about the harming of your child or some cold government official seperating you from children without any understanding of the truth.
Man whatever changes you make to your style and this channel… please NEVER change the end music! There is something SOOOO satisfying about you saying the last line and the music starting! IT’S PERFECT!
To me, it feels like there's a connection between some things here. 1. The duck the Protagonist held before seeing Nighty Night 2. The Death of the Wife 3. That house I feel like something is connecting all of these, but I also have some questions i'd love to see answers to (and maybe the connections I drew relate to possible answers). 1. How does Nighty Night select it's victims? 2. Why did it take four years for Nighty Night to begin attacking? 3. Why was so much of the story taken up by explaining the death of the Wife? This implies that there's important aspects of the story. My only conclusion is that Nighty Night is a corrupted version of the wife's soul that is jealous of all the love that people have been providing the child, and she wishes to "eliminate" the competition and spend more time with the child by well... giving him an eternal sleep. Why do I conclude this? The only people attacked are people who enter the kid's room and express a desire to protect the kid. Also, to me it's weird that the Protagonist picks up the duck that was said to be bought by the wife, only to next see Nighty Night (speak of the devil...). This is all what I think, but there might be a better motive for the creature some better answers for my questions.
Well she was giving birth and was probably give painkillers and things like that, that would make her sleepy, maybe it killed her and then followed the kid like it followed to officer But the sudden pregnancy also makes it weird
I was thinking something along the same lines. You know how in Stephen King's novels some people have the shining? Well, the wife was sickly, and had an impossible pregnancy, my theory is either she or the husband had some kind of draw for the paranormal that both made the birth possible and haunts them. Maybe the child getting to a certain age, missing a mom, would also attract this monster that tucks you in. The thing is, he was very casual about it, like it wasn't the only monster he had seen and was only scared because it hurt him.
@Toxin Entertainment Maybe the corrupted soul of the wife wasn’t trying to harm the child but just trying to hold him; but, ya know, having massive claws gets in the way of things. The time gap of four years could be the time it took for her to get corrupted like that; like maybe she has been watching over her family all that time, becoming ever more desperate to be with them again. She may have taken out the cop because he implied he’d take the kid away if circumstances were different. OR there actually is no connection, and Nighty Night Man is just a nightmare monster who managed to cross over until Tom Sturridge can take it out. The overlong backstory about the pregnancy could have just been character development for the father with no additional meaning. Chekhov wouldn’t approve, but he’s dead so can shove it.
I am living and sleeping in a large room right now with bunch of other people - war and stuff. Right as I was dozing off to sleep after your narration this man near me coughed in sleep in this same raspy tone as you did for Nighty Night. This was my closes encounter to the horror your voiceovers portray in these stories and I jolted awake so freaking fast
I’m so excited! I honestly think you have one of the best voices to do narrations with, and this is by far my favourite horror story narration channel. I find I go back and listen to old stories over and over again! Thank you for making such good high-quality content!
Hey Somnium! I’ve been a long time subscriber, and was wondering if you’d ever consider doing a remaster of “I died for six minutes and went to heaven.” It’s a personal favorite, and I’d love to see what you can do with it after a couple years of improvement! Either way, keep up the great work man
@@EKKing-wy2jq There were the individual chapters, and then the full story; and then there was a more recently done video of the unrelated story, "I was dead for 6 minutes."
I’m actually glad I gave into temptation and listened to this during the day. It would have definitely messed with my head if I listened to this as normal while I was drifting off to sleep. ❤️ the story and your production was everything.
This one hits a little too close to home. And its tormenting with the amount of memories i have of seeing something so similar in the same manner when i was 3. If the author had came up with this purely out of imagination I'd accept i was just very peculiar however if this was from the depths of their own repressed memories I fear for the future
Dont matter if its night or day the only thing that changes is how scared shitless you are left feeling by the end. Great channel you have here man and I hope you keep it up.
This is one of my favorite storys i’ve listened to for the past little while. Really good. That voice “Nighty Night…” is truly shiver giving. Awesome video!
The fact that the parent and the child see the same nightmarish thing reminds me of a terrifying and true story that happened to my family. When my mom was a little girl she had a horrifying experience one night. She awoke to see a shadowy figure standing in her doorway and then hovering over her when she peeked from under the covers. She swore that it wasn't a dream. My brother now lives in my grandparent's house with his kids and my niece had the same bedroom my mom occupied. Recently, the poor girl moved bedrooms because she was experiencing night terrors. When my brother asked her what the nightmares were about, she said she'd awaken and be too scared to move because a large shadowy figure was standing in the corner of the room watching her. Luckily the thing never attacked anyone unlike Nighty Night, but still creepy nonetheless.
@@akutenshi6946 I thought so too but my mom expressively states she remembered being able to move enough that she covered her head with a blanket. Which I've heard one's movement is limited. The fact that both of them experienced it in the same room is what I found so interesting. Even if it is sleep paralysis, it's a heck of a coincidence
@@alicegraham1571 There you go playing it smart. I would do the same just in case, I refuse to be dragged under the bed by a creepy shadow creature. lol
The most unbelievable part of this story is a speedy emergency room response. They wouldve sat the bleeding kid in the waiting room while is dad files 7 forms.
I've been here since before 1000 and it's steadily gotten better and better. If you haven't watched "The Left Right Game" by him, you are missing out. It even has a bunch of guest stars like Dr. Creepen
I went to bed with my noise canceling headphones on while listening to a handful of your stories and I woke up in a cold sweat at about 1:47 AM when I got to this story and all I heard was “Nighty Night”, Preemptively threw the covers over my head.
I will never stop loving these stories. Every upload leaves me wanting for more! I still remember listening to an upload of yours after my daughter was born a year ago, after everything had settled down. Looking forward to the next upload! Appreciate all your hard work!
I definitely love how he has other VAs join him. It adds a whole new depth to the stories. I simply can't get enough, I'm almost sure I've played every single upload on spotify 10x over and youtube at least 3 times.
Can't wait!!!! I love bedtime scaries! The Dark Somnium always has the Best Bedtime Scaries... and deep thought inducing... and life changing... stories!!!!
This is by far the best creepy pasta I have over heard. I would love to hear a sequel to this story like u did with the backroads (also one of my favorite story’s) or maybe a different nighty night story with different people. Love ur creepy pastas and keep up the great work
You should hear the one about the guy who shows up in town and does a one-off show playing the fiddle. It's on this channel somewhere. It's truly next level.
Hey somnium, I just wanted to say I love your content man. I have watched every video since about 2 years back and many before then. I really liked the Left Right game. I wanted to thank you for putting out amazing content and I’m super impressed by all of the audio work you do! Have a great day man!
Absolutely amazing performance as usual, the pacing the delivery, the music and of course your sound design. If you ever have a hard time picking a new story I highly recommend "what we saw in the mines of Appalachia" Mr creeps did a take on it but I think with your abilities you'd make it feel as if we're in the mines.
I may not be a father but I have a nephew that I’ve basically helped raised and could see as my own kid. This story had tore me up inside imagining it was my nephew. Another 10/10
Can't wait for the story Somnium! How are you doing btw? I hope you're not overwhelming yourself with the new videos after finishing up your long projects. Thank you for all your hard work, your narrations help me get through the boring days!
I suffer from near constant hallucinations, often times influenced by the media I consume. I probably shouldn’t be watching these, but I do anyway. That’s a compliment. Keep it up Somnium
i like when he said "i didnt believe him when he said *something was visting him in the night.* " he totally buried the lead afterwards like he actually didnt believe Ian, thats some good story telling.
I usually listen to creepy pastas for the story and they don’t usually creep me out because it’s just words but this one got me checking the room with my phone flashlight
Hey Somnium! I love your content so much and have basically listened to nearly all of your videos over the course of a year or 2. I wanted to know if you would be interested in narrating some of my own stories.
This story gave me Tall Dog vibes, I think I like this one a little bit more though. Great narrating and to the author great story. When can we expect the 5 hour story we been waiting for. Its definitely time for a long one.
I love horror narration on RU-vid and the sound design in this video is absolutely impeccable! I listen woth ear buds and the Nighty Night reveal was chilling. Love it keep up the good work!
Your videos are absolutely incredible dude. Always worth the wait. I know we all appreciate the hard work you put into them. Not to be mean, but those guys who just read stories with no emotion or effort don't even come close.
You are one of the most dedicated narrators I’ve ever listened to when I first saw your channel over a year ago I was shocked you didn’t have millions of subscribers
Great as always, thanks for the consistent quality of work. Good voice acting with real emotion in it, and the sound design you implement is always top notch.
idk why on gods earth i listen to these wen im trying to sleep especially this one im now terrified lmao you never disappoint with ur vids! every single one i’ve watched have been truly amazing
Been a fan for years, I sleep and do chores to these. If there was a way to support you further I would. Much love for your content all the way from Africa
I love your narrations. Your videos keep me grounded when I have a depressive episode, so thank you for taking the time to do these :) you're the best.
Not gonn lie, I get scared as heck when I listen to your stories at night. I love your content so much! Your content is literally what got me to like scary stories/ movies! YOU HAVE A STORY ABOUT A SMIKINING LADY THAT KEPT ME UP THE ENTIRE NIGHT!!!! Such a great story! Keep it up!
I love your vids man, such a nice way to just destress from the craziness my summer has been so far. The sound design, narration, effort, it’s second to none. All your stories inspired me to write again, something I haven’t done in a long time. Thank you!!! :)))
Great work dude! Half awake half asleep right now feeling like I'm 6 again the night after watching the grudge (glad the sun is up now tho, otherwise all the lights would be on)
It's REALLY hard to listen to other channels after this one. Like it's not even a fair competition... amazingly well done as usual. As a father i even felt my eyes water during the hospital questioning. Would love for this to be a movie.
I love everything you do bro. No disrespect but have you thought about finding more stories like back in your Tommy taffy faze, or tht girl who carved herself to make new flesh? Those were absolute BANGERS. This one was cool too like u always come with tho. Keep up the stupendous work friend.
I thought the same thing until I made a comment on a story about never thinking I'd need bedtime stories at 44 years old and since that comment over a 100 people have replied with their age and that they can't sleep without them either. The oldest I think is 72 years old. So it isn't all that strange
The sound effects and voicelines are perfect as always, love your work. I like storys more if we get a better glimpse at the origins of the monsters, so this isnt quite my cup of tea but the emotional bits in the hospital were good
a true megafan mr somnium i can’t afford to buy the subscription, but im very thankful for all your videos, they make me appreciate life more , to a point im recommending others . once again thank you
Love this channel. Your stories have literally saved my life. Whenever i get depressed. I'll put on one of your stories and just vibe. Keep up the good work stay safe and god bless.
i recently got really badly depressed and for some odd reason listening to horror stories has really helped me and i have no clue why. i feel the same way as you actually
Im going to play this to help my 4 minutes old sister sleep, she will just love it! She's been struggling to get to bed for the past week.. thanks ♥︎♥︎
What a fantastic story! Have I told you lately how much I miss you? You are, by far, the most talented narrator out there, Ronnie. It's not even close. It was nice to hear a bit from Rom...always a treat. I pray whatever you are doing with the bulk of your time is successful. I pray that you have found a way to monetize your talent to a more successful level than RU-vid can provide. Thank you for what you do and thank you for not leaving us without you. It probably would be easy, but we kind of need you in this space! Lol...you are the king!
Hi Dark Somnium! I’ve been watching you for a long time and I love your videos! One thing I’d really like to see is a short description of what the story will be! I think it would help us listener be more hooked. Anyways, keep up the great content!
pretty sure i've watched every single video of yours since i found this channel, and it's so cool to see how much the quality of videos and sound has improved!!!!! super awesome
I'm a little scared to sleep now, LOVE your channel and stories and voice. I look forward to seeing more! You responding to this comment would LITERALLY be a dream come true!!
Aaauugh, oh my god, what a stellar reading of a fantastic story. Oh the choice of how Nighty Night was said was so satisfying, I love this. I love this.
