This is such a long shot, and I don't remember if it was even somni that narrated it, but is anyone familiar with a story about a girl that was feeding angels her blood? I don't remember the girl's name, but I'm pretty sure it was part of the title. She took the MC to see the angels, and when she fed them that time, they took her with them and she disappeared. The MC told her parents and ended up begging the angels to bring her back, and it ended with everyone slowly turning into her. I've spent hours trying to find it and I've had 0 luck, so I thought I'd see if anyone else has heard/read it because I'd love to find it again!

This was such a great story- a human monster vs an otherwordly monster, and the human one came out on top. I think it’s a good reminder that most of the worst monsters out there are human ones

Was it really that great though? This monster is described as being ancient and extremely violent, so why did he decide to play along with Adrians game? It's an extremely inconsistent, but convenient plot-hole device and it ruins the immersion of the story.

@@JimmyPizzaDeliveryas it said in the story, the harbinger seems cunning and wise but really, it's a simple minded beast with the simple desire to hunt. Adrian used that to manipulate it, promising it a wide array of victims. The harbinger was sure it could have it's fun, do the experiment and kill Adrian after, it's simple minded goal of hunting and killing being used against it and not thinking about the more complex goals or ends Adrian desires

After such a very long time, no matter how completely obsessed with its hunting "game", boredom inevitably set in, making it a ripe target for Adrian's purposes. Haven't you ever been *so* bored that you ended up doing something totally dumb and/or stupid, just to relieve said boredom? That's part of what makes immortality so unappealing: just trying to find things to do so you don't fall into the despair of boredom.

Your delivery of the phrase "My ilk? You must be joking" at 20:40 is why its sometimes better to listen to a story. I would've never imagined to read this line like that consuming the tale on my own. You do take other people stories, but you work with them symbiotically, enchansing the original intent with your clever acting and sound design. This is no mere narration.

I love story writing that portrays a villain such as Adrian as both physically inept against the beast and yet unstoppable in formulating the perfect deal with him to further his will. "Knowledge is power" is a not-so-common theme upheld within mastermind character arcs, even though they make the best end-story plot twisters (ex. Adrian's "betrayal"). Masterminds make you reminisce about the first encounters with the villain(s) to the realization that he/they were 1000 steps ahead of the protagonist from the first interaction (ex. Adrian studied the beast's psychology). Reminds me of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning.

just saw this after my hiatus after coming back from overseas and BOY this was NEEDED. COOTOS to Adrian for this cunning planning and consistency at regulating his contingencies and closing on his plan. let's be honest most trip up at the end by being hasty or just not checking on the final requirements. The writer for this story needs so much more recognition and requests for a part 2. i wanna see these characters glow up and ultimate karma. he's high key better than most anime antagonists that are analytical. I've always been a fan of villain monologues despite most of them falling short of their true potential. So, while listening to this story, I was ecstatic to hear Adrian's monologue. Serious kudos to the author for really honing in on "the egotistical, smug villain that is just as powerful and smart as he says he is" trope. I feel like the trope of an egotistical and overconfident sociopath who just ends up losing at the end anyway is so overplayed. I enjoy seeing the villains live up to their build-up, for the main character to not always win, etc. This is genuinely why I enjoy horror so much, specifically horror like this. It's unpredictable, unique, and actually gets you thinking. Love this story, I hope the author continues to produce greatness.

I gotta say I haven't felt a thrill of a story for a few weeks now. This story was that thrill. I loved the sound effects that brought the entire story to life and the dialogue was almost perfect. Pretty interesting story. Despite being rather obvious that Adrian would eventually end up betraying and killing the harbinger as well as his own associates, it was still interesting to find out his motivation for doing so. At the start, I thought that, since Adrian was an obvious serial killer, he had just gotten bored with killing humans and wanted to move on to bigger prey. Turns out that wasn't exactly it.

Well the point is the thing is actually not that powerful. He got power because he is from a higher plane but obviously he is an idiot. Performing a black magic ritual not knowing its meaning while knowing black magic exists. I think it's what makes it interesting, brute force can always be outsmarted

just like to say thank you so much for you work man. Ik what its like to struggle with motivation at times, but you are doing great work. Its funny to think that 9 months ago I was thanking you for being the voice that rode with me on the way to my first year at Uni, and now you'll be the voice that's with me on the ride back this Friday. Oh my goodness yeessssss. I work early mornings so I like to listen to your narration of stories all the time. So soothing. I also put them on while driving and my teen started to get into them as well. Absolutely love you. You’re amazing. Thank you for doing this.
