As a marathoner, Vapormax is the last shoe I'd use to run. I run in Pegasus and variants of it, Next%, etc. VaporMax to me is all aesthetic (and I do like it!).
@@NachoAverageFinds Absolutely. Take a look at a picture of any marathon or race ... no one is wearing these, haha. No one is wearing Air Max 95s to run, either, lol. Likely not since 1995. But also, a favorite shoe of mine...
Yes I believe this to be true lol I wonder if Nike really thought people would be running marathons in these. Either way the shoe was a massive success. Thanks for watching Scott!
Hi Nacho & Brian, I'm Kevin from Thailand. Today I was just browsing for Kicks review videos on RU-vid. And then I found your channel. The way you presented things visually and how you tell the stories (tone of voice, pitch, pace etc.) are TOTALLY AWESOME! Sending Love to you guys, Peace !
I personally love the way vapormax feels when I’m walking or using it as a daily shoe. If I have to run somewhere or get caught up in something, it’s not bad at all. Nonetheless I’d never wear it as my running shoe, got my brooks for that.
Yeah - I figured Brooks. They are what I mainly see actual runners wearing mainly. Also some Asics, Saucony and New Balance - not as much, but you'll never see a real runner running in a flashy Air Max variety.
VaporMax Plus I think is here to stay. After buying my first pair & wearing the product for about 6 hours I was hook on this shoe. They’re so comfortable especially when walking on WalMart’s hard floor. I own 30 pairs of VaporMax Plus now & continue to look for more color ways.
Awesome vid definitely added a lot to my knowledge on one of my fav shoes! Not great for running though and have played basketball in them a few times with rlly sketchy results.
They are growing on me, but alot people in streetwear groups complain that after destroying even one of the air bubbles they are unwearable. So i don't think they are worth the retail price.
@@kokobeliq maybe, but even when casually walking in my ub i find sometimes a pin in the sole, i just don't want to take every step with caution thinking about my shoes.
@@mlodszyahmed Don't buy them. It sounds like they wouldn't suit heel draggers lol. Also this style of footwear already has been completely hijacked by hos. My sister has vapormax looking Asics for about a year now and they're totally not a masculine/manly shoe like the 95 or Plus Tn, even the Shox are more sturdy looking though I haven't seen them in my town since the mid 2000s. Way more Air Force wearers since then.
Dope video! I was wondering if you’re able to make a a sneaker history video on the Roshe run; a few years ago (2014ish), Roshes were poppin’, until it wasn’t. How and why???
I purchased a pair of Vapor Max at the height the pandemic because I hadn’t treated myself to a pair of high end sneakers in a few years. My youngest son had a pair he purchased to run and workout in ( he’s a D-2 point guard ) . When I asked him how they felt he said he didn’t care for them and they hurt his feet. I got a pair because I really liked them. I purchased them solely ( no pun intended ) for aesthetics . I like the snugness of the shoe but their are times when they feel like they are on the wrong foot and a tad hard not to mention on some surfaces they make you sound like an NBA point guard. Nike is good at manipulating stitching and color-ways that is unmatched by a lot of sneaker companies. The shoe , for me , is something I would only wear in the spring/summer . It really has no stability for your ankles so I could see someone turning an ankle. I thought it would be a much softer, bouncier shoe. I own a few pair of KD’s and they super comfy. I’m a chef and when I get off and slip my feet in my KD’s my feet feel so good and relaxed. I also own a pair Puma’s with SOFT SOUL padding ($29.99) and they are amazingly comfortable , like cloud nine comfortable. Again , Nike definitely pushed the envelope on aesthetics , as far as the Vapor Max and a lot of their shoes but I don’t see myself buying another pair unless they find a way to make them feel like my Puma’s ; even though I’ve purchased WAY MORE Nike products than Puma this may be my last pair unless I find them at an extremely thrifty price along with a great color-way ( 🤦🏽♂️ colored stitching combos are 🍌) that’s the only way I’d buy another pair. Nike has a few pair of basketball shoes from the early 80’s that I would like to research if you guys could help. I’m from Baltimore and we have mad sneaker stories and make ups that were only or largely sold only in B-More. Hit me up so we can 💬! 💪🏽💪🏽
Hang on! The mould for the sole is made out of how many pieces, Brian? 39,000? Damn! 😳 So they’re designed for runners, but they aren’t stable to run in? AND, they tested it on over 350 runners. I wonder what the hell they said about it? ‘They feel awful and I nearly broke my ankle, but thankfully, they look good’.
I have one pair of vapormax, the 2020 space hippie version and theyre insanely comfortable. The only issue I have with them is how its a little sketchy when walking on stairs, but other than that difference they are a really dope design imo. Having your foot directly ontop of the air unit makes a big difference for comfort.
I’ve been enjoying the airmax related videos since I recently realized how much I like the AirMax 95 and Airmax Plus and air bubbles in shoes in general
@@dubenick have you ever stepped on a thorn? What happens if it's punctured? I live around area with lots of sticker patches and whatnot, I get thorns on my shoes all the time. Never wanted to pick up a vapormax for this reason, or the 720 airmax.
Yeah, unfortunately I have to keep an eye out for grates on sidewalks but the main complaint I have is the distinct plasticky noise they make on certain floor surfaces
This was a great video, I’ve got a pair of vapormax flynit 3 and I think the shoes are perfect for going out to the shops (for example) but if I was to wear them on a long day out, the side of my feet start to ache REAL bad... idk though could just be
Completely agree have had a pair of triple black vapormax plus and I love them but the amount of times I have rolled my ankle while just walking normally, they are so so comfortable though and I love the way they look...
I’ve ran in my VaporMax 2.0s a couple of times! They feel pretty normal to me, they feel decent in grass and dirt. They feel pretty okay in pavement. I’m not a big time runner but compared to my Zoom Flys I like the vapormax better when it comes to running
I think it’s an amazing looking show that I’ve bought a pair but the excess elevation off the floor made me feel like I was hydroplaning every step! Like you said I actually rolled my ankle on it!
Stumbled on this vid and thanks for sharing your thoughts. I own a few VaporMax just for aesthetics. Starting to hate them cuz I am a heavy guy and its weirdly unstable un the center heel portion unlike any of my other Air Max kicks.
Hi bryan, nice video. I feel there is such thing as too much air. So I think those could even become uncomfortable or if you have bad luck and step on something sharp, you could pop the air bubble and your USD 200 shoe or whatever could become gargabe. Keep doing cool videos, dude! 😀
2nd homie in the comments, 🙏🏿looking forward to the video. I actually quite like the aesthetics of the Vapormax max, the Vapormax 360 though 🤤and the cactus.
I think that the vapormax has staying power. Seen a lot of non sneaker heads wearing them. Kinda surprising to me cause I don’t find the vapormax air unit to be very comfortable. Great vid as always! S/O to tha doctor of sneaker heat doctorsoles!
I've recently got vapour max 360s but I got the black blue white and grey I use them to go travelling for short periods and only walk in them they are my favourite so far apart from vapourplus waiting for custum 270 maxies I'm so keen
Ive got 2 pairs of VM 360's and they are a little unsteady compared to normal trainers but they are comfy if not a little small. I love the look and although I was nervous that they may burst they have been good for about 10 months now.
Funny, I literally just got the Nike Air Max 1 Anniversary White/Hunter Green and White/Magna Jeez, talk about coincidence, I guess we are on the same wavelength...... Man I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!! Thank You 🙏🙏😇😇🙏🙏
Nice video. As a long-time AM1 and 90 fan, it didn't take too much for me to be drawn to the Vapormax. I don't run, and I can't imagine these being good for running. I've copped the Acronym, Utility, and Exeter models. The clear air sole is a chore. The "Hotwire" Utility in black was a great 4-season shoe, though. I lean to darker mid- and outsoles, in general, for easier care.
I just got a pair of vapormax today and I hope what happen to the shox doesn’t happen to these the shox were the first pair of shoes I got in elementary school that I was proud to show off😂❤️
When I used to work at my local Nike Outlet, several coworkers would tell me that the Vapormax felt awkward to wear to the point that they would walk differently than in other shoes. When I tried a pair for myself, I agreed. They just feel strange on-foot.
Hey Nacho, can you please make a video about the Nike Air Cross Trainer 3? Since it´s re-release i fell in love with the sneaker. But i cant find any information about it on the internet.
I own a pair and I use them to run around my block but I doubt anyone would seriously use them for more than a casual jog. I do like the arch suppose and cushion but it feels really different if you put your weight in the heel and can feel wobbly for sure. Not sure how durable they are long-term either, but they look sick!
I use vapormaxes every week about twice and they ain't good for running but if you can style them well they look sick and yeah I got mine for about 80$ at the outlets so would recommend only if you can style em well
That’s exactly it, they roll your ankles which is so horrible. I use my old vapormax plus to run on grass but yeah only because grass is a bit more spongey. I wouldn’t use on concrete tho, worrying.
I bought the pure platinum pair on release day and have worn them to the ground over the past! The soles are super durable and I’m only now starting to wear holes in the flyknit after almost a full 3 years of wear! I got so much use out of my pair and I loved them, but I ultimately replaced them with a pair of triple black Ultra Boosts as an every day shoe. I’d buy another pair of Vapor Max but I’m not a fan of the way the uppers look on the new models and I would definitely recommend staying away from pairs with clear air bubbles.
I got a pair when they originally came out. I love them. I have run countless miles in them, and they are not made for that. They're really not comfortable for running, I've popped both shoes. But for casual, they're great.
@@NachoAverageFinds I got them when they first came out and they just popped a couple months ago, so some good wear. But I put in hundred of miles in them, running, playing basketball on concrete, other sports. So they definitely lasted a long time.
I use mine as a daily wearer when not at work ,love them , the zoom strobel model is perfection. So comfortable, but no , not the best for running love em for walking tho
Ordered 3x pairs of Jordan 4s and was on the fence about an Air Vapormax Plus. In the end, I ordered the Vapormaxes too. The model is called "Sunset". Hope they're comfortable.
I was interested in these til the comments reminded me that they cost the price of 2 AF1s depending on where you go. I saw one color scheme for $220 on Nikes website
Low key, I like the look of Jordan Reign and really wanted it but I’m apprehensive of VM with no midsole. I once seen Wanda Sykes sporting a pair of the VM Light 2, and was mind blown when I seen it.
i definitely think that the Vapormax is one of the most appealing shoes aesthetically. The first Vapormax 'Triple Black' that came out were a fail because they didn't have enough protection on the bubble due to them popping easily with a short amount of time. After, I noticed they added a thicker sole to the bubble because they noticed people were complaining about the first Vapormax popping quickly. Overall, I do think they will last because they are so rare and unique in the public eye. I get a lot of looks on my feet with these shoes. The Vapormax are a high end looking shoe. These shoes literally look like from another world. They are not for running, but I am excited to see how Vapormax evolves.
Nike shock is huge here in Brazil, in most because of the brazilian funk music scene. In my hometow, existed a gang called "Nikeiros" and a lot of the guys in the gang have the First Nike shock.
Always have been amazed on how much Nike Shox (including fakes) I see here in Brazil. Probably not an easy topic but would be interesting to compare most worn sneakers by country.
I’ve had the vapormax they are right up there in comfortability with the ultra boost, however i don’t run in them because I am prone to turning my ankle when I wear them....they are a great lifestyle shoe
i can see how people think they are dope, and some models and colorways i can even agree. but i never had vapormax, and i don't see myself getting any. good vid as always tho!
I had the acronym vapormaxes and the vapormax plus’s. They just built up too much pressure on the sole of my foot and it hurt after wearing them for a few hours.
I was never a fun of VaporMaxs but I’ve got to buy some for cheap in UK so I thought about giving it a shot. Look, I appreciate the whole technology behind it. Coming from a small bubble in the 90s to the whole sole being a bubble. It’s amazing. I’ve walked with them on gravel, and still the bubble didn’t burst. But the uncomfortable factor exceeds by far the aspect of the shoe. My middle of sole always hurts when I wear them, they have 0 support there, my foot always bends in an awkward way. And for driving? They are the worst.
