This is my first impressions of the Nike Alphafly 2. The Nike Alphafly next% 2 review or if you think that's too long then just the Alphafly 2 review.

Personally the Nike Alphafly next% 2 is now my favourite shoe for the 5K distance and upwards. The Vaporfly can also pretty much equally content with it on the 5K but I think the Alphafly 2 has a bit of an edge as the distances get longer. I believe in Alpahfly 2 is the best road racing shoe on the planet.

I haven't tried any of Nike supershoes yet. Just ordered Streakflys for threshold sessions. Nike's must work because everyone I used to beat handly who now wears them has been beating me. The price is what's killing me. Don't want to win that much.

Don’t let the streakfly give you an idea on what Nike shoes feel like. Although it’s a great training shoe it’s nothing compared to the super shoes

I’ve bought this. I feel plenty room for the forefoot, arch are well supported. Heel lock is second to non. I don’t even tie my shoe laces and run 1 hour in it.

I thought I recognised you on the Sports Shoes site in them. Sounds very promising! Ordered a pair myself although the price is very steep. You are clearly a far better/faster runner than most of us. How do you think they would do for runners whose typical pace might be several minutes a mile slower than you? Some "super" shoes feel OK at "easy" paces and some need some effort put in as it were.

Ahh Tim I follow you, I'd say it may feel slightly more comfortable at slower paces but as you said , remember it's made to go fast, probably anything slower than 6:30 per k is a miss

Better than the alphafly of? Sounds like I'm gonna buy these when they drop some darker colorways. White is honestly the least ideal colorway for a running shoe.

Yep so plans for videos are: alphafly vs vaporfly, the best racing shoe (vaporfly, alphafly, metaspeed, prime x and battle of the big shoes (prime x, tempo, alphafly etc)

It's it true to size, I realize lately I had to go half size down in nike I'm usually 9.5 but the 9 is now my preferred fit

A few questions from me relating to comparisons to the first version Is it lighter? Does it feel less “clunky” I.e more agile? Has that arch protrusion which a lot of runners have complained about (including myself) now been fixed? Did you prefer the Alphafly version 1 against the Vaporfly Next%? Is this new version better than the old version? I ask these questions because I didn’t really take to the Alphafly v1 for racing preferring the Vaporfly Next%. Happy to train in it, and good for my long runs where I wanted to up the pace, but didn’t trust it for racing vs the Vaporfly, the latter being more nimble. Also, for marathons I worried my arch would start aching over that distance because I’ve felt discomfort in it before.

so it weighs slightly more, but feels a lot less "clunky", the arch isn't as narrow, but I have noticed no problem with the arch, but haven't in the first version either. I preffered the vaporfly over the alpha fly. But, the 2nd version is a lot better.

I heard that the heel drop is now 8mm instead of 4mm in version one. Have you also heard this?

@@Trackstaa_ clunky is what I often described that first version but I am a UK 13 and it topped 300g in my size. You seemed to imply v2 had lost a bit of weight and presume is not now “clunky” although that might still be hard to get around in my size.

The instep on the left shoe felt too pronounced for me in the alphafly v1. Felt like I had something poking my arch. Did you notice this on the v1 or v2?

Trying the Metaspeed edge + today, might pick up the adios pro 3 and endorphin pro 3. I've also tried the Altra vanish carbon. Alphafly 2 is better than any super shoe I've ever tried though

Is the arch as high as AF1? Love them but get terrible blisters in the arch almost every time unless I wear preventative bandages.

How is the arch section? I had trouble with v1 when I got close to 16mi or longer, I would start chaffing in my arch and there's no way I would last 26.2. Is there less over hang?

you can replace the insole. I ripped mine out carefully and replaced it with much better insole from my speed (which I never use lol)

It’s the initial limited release of prototype color. More colorways will release eventually. It’s a Deja vu when Nike released Vaporfly 2 prototype.

A second one as a middle school runner I don’t put much money into shoes as my feet are still growing,but other people do and it is very unfair for me while running. It is a very unfair playing field for me any carbon fiber shoes under 100 bucks please.

Sadly not. The best option is to maybe try get the endorphin speed on discount. Or juts spend the money and return them once they don’t fit. I always get refunded from Nike if the shoe is damaged or faulty.

What do you think about the Rival Fly? I think it's an underrated shoe. Maybe the price combined with the fact that has "outdated" technology has turned off people, but I like it more for training sessions than any version of Zoom Fly. I should say that I buy my shoes on ebay so to me the official price tag is irrelevant.

I'm worried these shoes will deter future generations of modest means from taking up the sport. Running has been the great democratizer of the sporting world for a long time, and it would be a shame to restrict it to the wealthy few. I hope the price of these supershoes comes down, because these companies are complicit in creating an elitist running atmosphere. What hurts most is these companies seem to be profiting fine without the hard earned money of the blue collar workers. I guess they only need to sell slightly more than half the supershoes to make the same profit as the old top of the line shoes so I don't know that we have any market influence...

@@AngelHernandez-uc9pw almost everybody heelstrike a bit. even ppl who claim they are midfoot strikers - they hit the ground with the heel first. it's very common and it's not that bad, unless you really overstride and do it with straight leg.

Let's remember the First Alphafly is the ONLY shoe ever to do sub 2 hours . Yes reviewers get caught up in the emotions of a new shoe . But until a shoe goes quicker than version 1 . Then they cannot claim to be a faster shoe .

Well the 1st version Kipchoge wore was a prototype which had a lot more to it so would be considerably faster and would be banned. this shoe is for sure quicker than the 1st version that was released to the public though
