It's simple. Remove Jokic from the Nuggets - they are a lottery team. Remove JT from the Celtics - they are still a top 5 team. Remove Luka from the Mavs - they are still in playoffs with healthy Kyrie. Remove Giannis from Bucks - they are still in playoffs with Dame. Remove Embiid from Sixers - they can manage to get to the playoffs. No one is as much crucial to the team's success as Jokic is for the Nuggets. Which makes him the Most Valuable Player.

Gilbert in inconsistent because he said in the podcast that you have to have a top seed but in the same podcast he was saying that Kobe should've won over Nash but Kobe's team wasn't a top seed. @@yyynbbggsage7398 well... no... of course this is untrue.... these arguments are subjective, obviously but even with that in mind, we don't just go by rings or mvps or whatever, it is always a case by case basis... do you believe bill russell to be better because he has 11 chips?... no, context matters, the fact that he had 1 good team to go against in those days and that the league only had 8 teams to begins with obviously makes those rings less competitive than modern day rings... that's just one example... what we look at really, at the end of the day, when we judge players, is what is their on court impact overall OR we look at their personal dominance... we can definitively say lebron james jumps higher than jokic... but we can also definitively say that jokic raises the level of his team's play far more than lebron specifically, and more than everyone else we watch in the league... like i said earlier, it's all very subjective how we judge these things but i figured out a fool proof way FOR me, and by my estimation and criteria it is very hard to make the case for other players over jokic and i mean ALL TIME... and the question for me is, if i get a 5 year contract that i can sign any player historically to build my team around as the LONE superstar on that team, whom would i take first.... and lebron isn't even on the list of candidates for me... clearly he is for you, but i can't ignore the mental weakness and all basketball weaknesses too in favor of athleticism with lebro

I cant speak intelligently about the current NBA, because I don't watch anymore. I think Jokic would've been very good in any era, but this era is tailor made for Jokic and I don't think there is anyone with the overall offensive skill set as Jokic. Defense doesn't seem to be factored in, but Jokic is above average defensively. But the value of Jokic on his team in this era is immense. Arenas hates Euros and only likes black Americans to stay relevant with the Gen Z'ers. He can't believe half the crap he actually says
