But that’s good for the league, though. MJ took the league to another level. The League has been looking for the next MJ even while he was playing (Harold Miner, Grant Hill, Vince Carter, Kobe, Jerry Stackhouse, Penny at first, Ray Allen, Wade etc…)
@@NYJGreatnessno it’s not,it’s why ratings are low bcuz they made lebron the face of the nba and compared him to mj and the fool went along with it,now look at his dumb ass smh
@@enamuossuoexactly!! They’re so desperate for better ratings but they have no idea how to go about it. They need to be more like NFL. Which not as player focused.
Let’s be real here. Everyone knows there is no other Michael Jordan. The fact that people still try to find comparisons for him, goes to show you that he is the standard.
@@kooldawgwho the hell said he was god???God???? We talking basketball goofy, he is God of the nba, don't matter what you think, can someone surpass mj? Yes yes again yesss, but it's not lestackthedamdeck
He may as well be revered like a god when only concerning basketball. There is a reason he's called Black Jesus and that nickname persisted after all these years even if that's a blasphemous thing to say.
Kobe was pretty close, although I think Kobe is overrated. But the reason why no one will surpass MJ is only because MJ stans tear down other players legacies, which in turn has now led to MJ being torn down in retaliation
To be honest, he is kind of far from like 97 Jordan lol. He has that explosion that reminds jordan and the eager to kill the enemy, but is not there quiet yet.
@@gabrielaugone8135not to mention the fact that in the most important game of his career in a game 7 he went 6-24 for 16 points lol. Yet they try to push he’s the next MJ agenda because he kind of looks like him? Makes no sense.
IKR, Ant. E. is a great player but he's already coming in short, even in this "great" season he's having. 16 points on 24 shots... In the most important game of the series... Mj scored less than 20 points only 6 times ever in the playoffs and he had a much more efficient percentage in every one of those games.
@@BlackMamba-wf9ih MJ has the career record for playoff points per game on better efficiency (48% shooting), more rebounds per game, more assist per game, more steals per game, and more blocks per game. Kobe is a watered down version of Michael at best.
That MJ can withstand a massive coordinated effort to whitewash his legacy w/ tens of millions in capital (probably more) and decades of tainted narratives is a testament to Jordans presently unassailable greatness.
1988 Jordan averaged 35ppg on 60% true shooting in a tougher defensive era + he was a great defender. At least their new player to promote has skills, unlike the last one (Lebron).
I came here to say exactly this. I almost feel sorry for people who weren't around to see MJ play. I'd never seen anyone like MJ before NOR since. Dr. J's game had a lot of the same creativity (and he was definitely an inspiration), but MJ was just on another level. Kobe came close, but even he wasn't quite MJ because he didn't have MJ's enormous hands that allowed him to control the ball in an otherwordly fashion. MJ was an artist out there on the court, truly "one of a kind". When another MJ finally shows up, there will be no need for media shills to try to convince us. We'll know when we're seeing a player that special. Neither AntMan nor LeBron are anywhere close to being "That Guy".
I've been watching basketball for 51 years, and I respectfully disagree. After I saw Dr. J for the first time, everything after that was just a pale imitation. George Gervin was similar. That's not a knock on Jordan, it's just that my generation couldn't see what the big deal was. What we admired was how his midrange jumper was money, that he played perimeter defense like a beast, and that his game was constantly improving and evolving, especially the mental game. I enjoyed him the second time around because he was starting to slip a bit, and still found a way to win. I even liked his time with Washington.
@@zachmartin1458 especially during his ABA days. Dr. J was a beast, no doubt and Gerving had sick offensive skills. But I think MJ was right there with Dr. J in the "high flying" department and MJ had more to his game.
In 86 at age 22, game 3 against the Celtics and facing elimination, MJ had 19 points and was outscored by 2 teammates, Paxson with 23 on higher efficiency than MJ, and Dave Corzine with 22 on higher efficiency than MJ, MJ also had 5 turnovers, 22 year old Ant isn’t that far off from 22 year old MJ, I don’t know why he’s being compared to 25 year old MJ in this video
@@TheLionaaa1985 first round, 21 year old MJ vs bucks, Game 4 facing elimination, MJ shot 6/16 from the field, 0/2 from three, with 4 turnovers, and was outplayed by Terry Cummings on the opposing team, 21/22 year old Ant was pretty much just as good as 21/22 year old MJ
It’s not that. It’s the fact he had two dynasties. It’s when he won,he 3 peated twice. Some players win one go back to back but only two players were apart of two dynasties him and Kobe. Yes him. The 3 with shaq and the three he went to after shaq winning two of them
@@kylonp7311 On the other hand, Wilt Chamberlain has 'just' two rings, and Larry Bird has 'only three. Ain't nobody gonna argue that they're not part of the GOAT debate. LeBron definitely ain't, though: anyone who has to proclaim they're the GOAT is no GOAT.
yeah and they act like 6 and 0 is so easy, it just rolls of the tongue so easily as if its no big deal.. just.. lip service,.. so if it was so easy why doesnt everybody just go out and do it.!!!
So Winehurst and Kendrick both said 88-89 Jordan..Man this is just out of hand. How is this not a controlled narrative brought down from someone? How does that idea come into both of these guys heads when Edwards isnt even close. 🤔..
Especially when Ant doesn't even wanna hear it! If they really paid attention and actually liked Ant, they would acknowledge it. They just out here disrespecting the game every morning.
@crocidayle close to what..? Edwards is nowhere near Jordan's performances. Go look at both stats, then go look to the footage. Michael Jordan was way ahead on leaving his imprint on each game in 88-89 season. Dont get me wrong, Edwards has a strong case in the future, but come on, let's give him some time 1st before the Jordan comparisons. Can't he just be the 1st Anthony Edwards.?
Its wild how its been technically only 3 3peats since the 90's. And Jordan got 2 of them. And yet years later after this man has been retired for 21 years. Folk got everything to say about him. Jordan lives rent free in folks mind.
How many awards did Ant win this year? I guess a possibility he’ll get a chip still but MJ did things that year nobody else ever has by winning MVP, DPOTY, a steals and scoring title in the same season.
And ASG MVP, Dunk Champion, and WS Leader on a team with 0 other all stars. Not to mention he was the 1st player ever to record 200 steals & 100 blocks in the same season, and he also broke the NBA record for blocks in a season by a guard. ESPN is delusional and knows less about NBA history than us casuals 😂
Brian Windhorst and Kendrick Perkins ARE 'complete' CLOWNS! (REMEMBER Kendrick Perkins IS the guy that said Lebron James 'resume' IS the SAME as MICHAEL JORDANs 'resume' when the 'difference' in resumes IS LITERALLY BETTER THAN Kevin Durants resume! And Brian Windhorst IS ACTUALLY under the impression that Lebron James is a GREAT 'DEFENDER'! LMFAO)
The only place Ant beats MJ currently is that Ants teammates are much better. MJ at age 22 averaged 44 a game in The playoffs. Most of his stats went up in the playoffs. ANT has had several games under 20 points this run. There should just not be any comparison at this point. Let Ant just play and see where things go.
The league is just desperate to recapture the Jordan era that they're grasping at straws in failed attempts to build a new Jordan. Ant is no Michael Jordan but that doesn't stop the media from pushing the narrative.
The hillarious part is they act like Ant doesnt have a whole DPOTY, 6MOTY, and All Star while having great pieces like Conley, McDaniels and Alexander Walker
@@20noldi indeed, remember how Jordan as a college player beat a team of NBA All Stars eight games to zero in 1984 in the pre Olympics scrimmages, including Larry Magic and Isiah,.. then took Olympic Gold.. .so yes if he had just a little more non cokehead players actually wanting to win, he would have.
As a T-Wolves fan, at least you can take consolation that the entire basketball world (even MJ GOAT camp) highly respects Ant. You guys are lucky. But yes, everyone knows the comparison is dumb.
Because Lebron is a freak of nature. Jordan is more relatable than Lebron tbh. How many’s are 6’9 250+ with the speed, athleticism, passing and scoring that Lebron possesses nowadays??
@@sosaraycharles358 A guy that cries on the floor, flops, travels on every drive and desn't have any post moves or go to moves? No one, wants to be like that.
@@sosaraycharles358 there are a lot with more endurance who play both sides of the floor. even jokic is an overall better athelete. what use has a guy who cant defend shit anymore?
@@sosaraycharles358 is it? Or is it that James has no bag, no fundamentals, and a horrible shot? He was a great athlete, so much so he fooled most people into believing he was a good basketball player. And now that his physical skills are waning, he has been severely exposed and is showing everyone his complete lack of actual basketball skills. Mike did things no one has ever done, as a guard. And that is why he is the GOAT, and who everyone is compared to, not just in basketball. Your cap is duly noted, as is your Stanzboys status.
It's not fair to Edwards or Jordan. Ant has that killer instinct MJ, Kobe and DWade had. Instead of just appreciating what the young man is doing, the media has to do the Jordan thing. It's tired, it's annoying. Let's rate these guys at the end. It's a total resume thing and you can't just say a guy is Jordan or Magic or any all time great. Just let them play and celebrate greatness.
That's exactly what ESPN is after, turning MJ fans against AE, so we leave Lebron alone. I love MJ and AE, and I don't need to choose a goat, I just like how they both play.
@@ByGraceThroughFaith777 Ant himself said he doesnt want the comparisons so ESPN not Ant will get all the backlash unlike the Burger King who's refusing to retire so he can stat pad and push more false narratives thru his pod
I watched the Bull since one year before MJ got drafted. I don't remember him ever being as disrespectful as Ant. Maybe it was his upbringing or him playing for Dean Smith and Bob Knight, but MJ was always classy to the opposing stadium's fans and if he trash-talked, it was to an individual player and you barely caught wind of it. People need to stop this comparison, man.
Yeah, I remember 88/89 Jordan having, a former all-star, a current all-star, sixth man of the year, and a 4x DPOY on his team that's a stacked team. Oh yeah and Jordan did lose a 7 game series to the Pistons team with 4 Hall of Famers. ESPN are a bunch of 🤡.
@@JustLikeYou.Indeed man, look, Ant-Man is great, but in the playoffs, Jordan ALWAYS was the best bull player, even when he lost to the Celtics or the Pistons by example, he was the best player of the series, I mean, if great Larry Bird calls you a god in your second season, that truly means something, meanwhile Ant-Man (I might be wrong) has had more off playoff nights than Jordan in his whole career
It was always the mirror of the USA mentality. Since they are "woke", they are the biggest racists on Planet earth. Just like the whole nba is. The racism against Whites is getting New highs. But Americans dont see that......
You obviously have a problem with black people looking at all the anti black comments on any video talking about a black athlete... people like you can't even define woke without sounding like fox news
Edward's and his team have faced no opponent who was as strong as Jordan faced from 1985 through 1990 in Boston, Detroit, Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia.
88 version of MJ is literally the top MJ just haven't win a chip yet. MVP, Steals leader, Scoring Leader, DPOY, 200 Block 100 steal monster stat, All star MVP, Dunk Champion. Seriously Ant is not close.
Edwards is playing with the DPOY, 6th man of the year, another Allstar, teammate of the year and a good bench. They don't mention that when they bring up MJ's name.
How could lebron be the goat when everyone's comparing newbs to jordan? "he's the lebron of this or that" ?.. Never.... I've even heard "he's the micheal jackson of this or that" 🤷🏽

Never will any sport ever see an athlete, a competitor, or a WINNER like MJ. People have more chips and personal accolades, but no person had his true winners mentality or the fire to win at any cost. Hence why he is the gold standard still to this day.
The thing is, to be the next jordan, not only do they have to win, have skill, and a ferocious mindset, they have to have the swag jordan had too. He was smooth with it

Thanks for giving grounded context for the insanity on any bball news outlet these days. haven’t been able to turn on a sports show in over a decade, and it was terrible even then. But the extent it’s gotten to is Orwellian levels of misinformation.
I wish big media would just let these players careers play out. In every sport they’re always projecting and forcing the next goat or next dynasty. Let it play out then discuss when it’s over. Just enjoy the moment! Players can get hurt, teams can break up, etc.
Players with a three-peat in their pocket are on a different level than the rest. Without a three-peat, they don't belong in a conversation with Jordon.
In 1989 Jordan led 2-1 vs the pistons and went 5 for 15 33% with a chance to take a commanding lead, in game 5 with a chance to go up 3-2 he took 8 shots and had the same amount of turnovers as made shots
Pippen avg 9PPG that series CHodges was his 2nd best player 12PPG MJ Avg 30PPG 6/6 that series he didn’t have a Kat and company to bail him out if he had a bad game he was by himself vs one the best (dirtiest) defensive teams of all time
Whats unfortunate for Ant is that they're comparing him to the unattainable. Instead of appreciating him, you can only realize his inferiority to MJ. It's a really unfair comparison.
NBA players age when they won their first Ring: Micheal Jordan: 28 Lebron James: 27 Kevin Durant: 28 Stephen Curry: 27 Shaq: 28 Hakeem Olajuwon: 31 Dirk Nowitzki: 32 Jayson Tatum is 25.
I like AntMan, but the form of Jordan he is closest too is the 2001 version of Jordan before he tour his meniscus injury. Just being honest because here are the facts ] In the 46 games that Jordan played before the injury, he averaged per game 25.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks on 42% shooting. Jordan's numbers were also improving as the season went on, as in his last 20 games up to the injury he averaged per game 27.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks on 44% shooting, and in his last 10 games up to the injury he averaged per game 29.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.3 blocks on 47% shooting.[54] Before the injury, Jordan was considered an MVP contender at the age of 38 for what could have been a record-tying 6th MVP award! People just don't understand no one is ever coming close to MJ! Also Jordan had 8 40 points games on the wizards twice after the age of 40 and 1 50 point game with the wizards!
The media is scrambling so hard to find the next Michael Jordan as the ratings peaked during that time, but they openly bashed and diminished the actual closest player to Jordan in Kobe. Just let these kids create their own image and legacy. Not everyone wants to be LeNarc and declare themselves "The Chosen One".
This only happened 4x in the history of the NBA; Win scoring title Win regular season MVP Win first team defensive player Led playoffs in scoring Win finals MVP & championship Name of the 4 players 1. Jordan 2. Jordan 3. Jordan 4. Jordan
This is why videos like this is so important. I like Ant & he's on his way to greatness, but it's blasphemy to compare him to a 88 or 89 Jordan. As a sports fans, it's crucial to understand how mainstream media is pushed by agendas & finding different outlets that offset the propaganda.
These sports shows have to have something to talk about plain and simple. Comparisons to the 🐐 are never going to end. Not in our lifetime or to the end of time for that matter.
Over 1 bpg for a perimeter player is crazy. It's like the inflated stats future pros get in high school where you know at the next level they'll even out to 'decent' numbers. Then, when they're pros, they either average a career triple-single off the bench or get numbers similar to their college production overseas.
I hate to break it to people… but we are NEVER Ganna see another MJ. He’s a one of one that happens every like 1000 years… if ANT was Jordan the nuggets would have gotten swept.
So true. Ant has a fantastic team, even his bench is great. They as a whole have the best defense. When you have the best defense, winning games are much easier. Omg can you imagine 88 or 89 Jordan on this wolves team in today's nba 😂 he'd average 50 a game through all the playoffs and would sweep everyone... All the Jordan stats from that video also don't even take into fact that the NBA just didn't shoot the 3 ball like today. Omg it would've been nasty for MJ in today's game. They'd have to make rules to stop him... Oh wait they did that in the toughest era because they still couldn't stop him in that era
